  1. I run the Rosso Corsa Diablo II's on all my sport bikes ( better than III's imo) and love them...but I mostly do just tight up and down hill twisties in the mountains near my house and it doesn't rain very often here and I don't go for milage..If I were to run anything else though it would be the Bridgestone T31 Battlax, I do run Bridgestone tires on my California and they feel very good. ...some of my friends around here who I feel are very good riders in the twisties and who also rack up the miles on longer trips swear by the Bridgestone T31 Battlax ..I will most likely try those next.

  3. Sorry Phil..I really enjoy riding mine...They actually are a lot of fun and handle much better than you would expect!
  4. I wouldn't waste my time comparing a V-11 to a Ducati if I were you...just my 2 cents. I have been riding over 55 years, every brand motorcycle Ducati's most of them..and have owned probably a dozen very nice Ducati's, I have one in my workshop now that I spent over $30k and 2-3 years building and it is a beautiful machine...3 years ago I rode my first V-11 and the Ducati has been mostly sitting with a cover over it ever since..My most enjoyable bike to ride at the moment? A $2,500 1999 Bassa V-ll Cruiser..it makes me smile and almost laugh with joy every time I start it up and listen to it...and is a pleasure to ride. It's heavy, kinda ugly, not fast..the linked brakes aren't so great, It handles decent...I can think of no rational reason to give anyone why they would chose it over another motorcycle other than it just makes me smile, It has a soul. Which is the feeling that started my love of motorcycles in the beginning. I think you either love them despite all their imperfections or you don't.. Its not a rational decision.. I
  5. The bike is there on consignment.. I exchanged e mails with the sales person a few months ago when it was first listed. I’ll be very kind… and just say He wasn’t a nice guy. I’d steer clear.
  6. BREMBO PARTS This place has good prices on some Brembo parts like master cylinders and calipers..ships fast and seems like a nice guy on the phone Many of the earlier Ducati's like the 748/996/Monsters use the same stuff as the V-11's https://store.bevelheaven.com/index.php?p=home
  7. 450 miles on the motor..still breaking her in... Thanks Phil..Obviously I like this paint , plus I wanted to make it mine. This picture doesn't do it justice on the fine details..my photography on a smart phone sucks ..... Basically every part on the bike is new from top to bottom front to back...a good learning experience for me.
  8. Great day for a ride on the Scura today, Fresh motor with FBF High compression pistons, Fresh Gearbox, RAM clutch assy, Lucky Phils shift improvement, and Chucks extended shift bracket, Freshly powder coated motor and gearbox...Ohlins front and rear reworked with Ducati 1098 valving and springs, and steering damper rebuild by a great guy ,Dan Kyle at Dan Kyle Racing, AND.. ...docc's Decent Tuneup was the cherry on top!!..She runs and rides beautifully. Thanks to forum friends especially docc, and also Scud, Footgoose, Lucky Phil, and a few others for all their behind the scenes help and advice in my learning curve while pulling this all together over the past year!!! All Great people!.
  9. I got a new one for my Rosso Corsa from AF1 racing a few months ago...Brembo Gold Rear....GU30653001.. ( it says front on their site when you enter it but its the rear..and that is the correct number for a rear) It was only $104.00 dollars complete with new Brembo pads..and they usually have it in their USA warehouse..took about a week.
  10. Me?...No I'm all Scura'd up...I Just finished mine ...but if someone thinks they might be seriously interested in it I would go look at it for them and send some pictures and an honest opinion! Its only a couple miles from me.
  11. I Don,t know the guy or the bike but this came up this morning. They don't seem to come up often. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/d/berkeley-2002-moto-guzzi-v11-scura/7358777731.html
  12. Your in the right place then..I think everyone has been nominated at one time or another !
  13. I have a little shop in my area in the inner city so to speak....its a one man hole in the wall independent shop..the owner is old school rider who rides Husky ADV bikes now....He has been running the shop for years..he has an excellent old Coats tire machine and an excellent spin balancing machine ..He specializes in Japanese bikes..mostly Honda. But he will change a tire for me on anything I bring in, I have brought him BMW, Aprilia, Norton,Ducati's, and most recently my Scura wheels..He doesn't always jump up and down for joy when I show up..but he stops what he is doing and does it ...and always accepts the cash with a thank you and a handshake. I feel very fortunate to have him around..this is a dying breed.
  14. One of the easiest bikes there is to change a tire on… lol
  15. Not trying to say you wouldn't or couldn't or make any comment about YOU personally..Just relating my own experiences over the last 55 years riding..I have paid some would think were ridiculous prices to get just the bike I wanted ...but I did get what I wanted...thats all that mattered to me. I hope you find yours!
  16. As they say “Money talks” .. if you really want a pristine one …anytime soon you’ll have to step up big time to pry one out of someones hands “. That’s how it works.
