  1. That guy with the Greenie wont even return e mails...been on there for a month..something is fishy...
  2. I believe it will....or close to it...depending on how it looks up close. Its been posted less than 24 hours...and It IS out in the middle of Texas...not an easy place for most people to drop by and have a look....lol
  3. a low mileage bike you seldom see for sale..
  4. Saw him a few times many years ago( 70's) with Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt...David Lindley..good shows!
  5. Over the past 10 years I have personally done 4-5 tanks for myself and a 2-3 for friends , Aprilia,Ducati, and Moto guzzi V-ll "Plastic" tanks( they are actually a Nylon formula if you read in depth on the subject on posts over the past 10-20 years on Ducati websites like " ducati ms)) tanks that were Swollen..a couple REALLY swollen so swollen you could barely get them off the frame, On all the ones I did I took them off for at least three or four months.. ( I have talked about it here before). I always did it over the winter months to not lose as much riding time..unless I had a spare tank.., I wash them well, pull the filler, and petcock, and internal pump.. then let them sit in my Wife's planting sun room for at least 3 months..and I stuck a cheap hair dryer in the filler hole and run it on high every couple days..after the three or four months I treat them with a "FULL"can of Caswell "Blood" sealer, making sure to reach all inside areas,( following their directions) and then let them dry another week before installing..they all shrunk and went back on easy peasy..and to date none of them have re-swollen as far as I know. One Aprilia "Factory tank"had multiple bubbles..I carefully heated the bubble with a heat gun, then used a needle and punctured the bubble and pressed it down hard with a thumb and re heated..that one I did 4-5 years ago and still looks good. So..FWW..thats my experience
  6. Happens to the best of us...unfortunately..Oh well make lemonade out of lemons...and keep on rollin!
  7. After I get the Scura together, probably another month, maybe we can get together for a ride...Enjoy!
  8. I think maybe Scud.. but in anycase it worked! Great! I usually wash them out good with hot water and joy and leave my tanks off for 2-4 months over the winter, that seems to work pretty well.
  9. I take my family out there to the actual point every couple of years, their is no place like it..beautiful, almost other worldly at certain times of the year...and yes..Some great riding around there !
  10. If it was many many..like in the early 70's..when I first went there ,its not the same at all..La Honda its self has very empty..not like in the 70's when I went to the "Boots and Saddles" bar was there and Neal Young used to live behind the building and when he was in town he would come in on Sunday nights, sit at the piano with his little son and play for a couple hours for free.., Alice's is still a good place for decent food and a short weekend ride though. Alices is open every day and night ..but getting too $$$$$ for my blood. Nice trip..I used to ride all those places when I was college age in SF and a little beyond that time..I moved to L.A. for work and then to Hawaii, been back here in the Bay area for 10 years now. My wife grew up in the Haight in the 60's. Those Mini's are nice..I've thought maybe that is what I'll get when my 2 wheel days are over..if they still allow us to drive gas powered vehicles.
  11. I had a great ride today up the coast to Jenner ( on the Pacific Ocean ) and back..about 220 miles all in all. Beautiful day and this is a beautiful route once you leave the FWY in San Rafael...on the way up you wind thru Lucas Ranch road and up HWY 1 past Pt.Reyes Station..then at Jenner you cut back east on 116 along the Russian River and thru beautiful Sonoma wine country all the way back to HWY1 Only thing missing was my Scura as she is still in the middle of restoration...But at least I did have my S4RS which runs awesome!
  12. My wife and I spent a week in Mandello del Lario 3 years ago on our 3 week riding Vacation of Italy and the Alps...One of the best memories of my life, I cant wait to go back!
  13. He plays around here in the Bay area semi regularly..they had a big benefit for him here just before covid....some medical issues I believe. Great talent!!
  14. Dust, I think. It’s not cracked or anything, I'll clean it all off and post some better pictures later..these were "on the fly"..
  15. Everything will be powder coated except the final drive, ie;engine cases, trans cases, timing cover, sump, valve covers......I am not doing the final drive right now, mostly because I didn't feel like it , it will get done, but it works fine, the current final drive paint is like new, and it is an easy thing to pull later..but right now I have a 100 other things this bike needs done first...at some point I may buy a 2003 final drive which comes in Satin..I have 2 new 2003 collars in Satin laid aside. for that day. Actually my old Mandello had a Satin type motor paint and trans with an original finish on the Final drive that looked almost just like this Scura's current one....looked fine to me. I have restored a couple old Nortons and used the same powder coater with the same engine paint and they came out beautiful .
  16. Knee deep and forging fwd!!!! Time to get it all stripped , and then off to the powder coaters on Monday..The Original Flywheel looked fine..no cracks or issues..Although I can see and some point a previous owner has done some thrashing of the pressure plates, all the rest of the clutch assy looks fine!! RAM clutch kit sitting here and all ready to put back in on re-assembly, the Transmission and bearings look excellent ..some one has been in there in re-sealed it long ago..Oil pump and timing chain look like new..Found it has had High Compression FBF Pistons installed at some point..all looks good ...Having the crank checked out....Heads and valves look great! Thankful My Mechanic John helping me..learning a lot from his 50 years master mechanic of experience . She will be awesome.
