  1. Living in the valley of the sunstroke generally kills my batteries every 2 years. I don't bother to charge them anymore, the heat just kills them anyhow.
  2. I'm still in. I'll be at Turn 18 in the shadow of the tower.

  4. You can get your tank lined. These guys in Cali do it. http://www.gastanklining.com/
  5. Pete, if one has an internal bearing extractor tool, is it still necessary to remove the driveshaft?
  6. I use small slip joint pliers gapped to the back of the circlip to the back of the post. That way the force on the circlip stays perpendicular.
  7. Thanks, wondering if you had a line to factory stickers.
  8. Went to the Ducati Panigale V4 R release party at Otto Car Club in Scottsdale. http://ottocarclub.com/ The Otto Car Club is for 0.1% rich people who baby their car collections. Think social club with a huge garage attached. Can't argue with free beer and wine, right. But oddly, no Italian wine nor beer !! I rode there, so only 1/2 of a beer for me. Also had wandering waiters handing out small nibbles. Here's my goose in front of some ducks. They did a full on technical presentation of the V4R features, which includes going back to a dry clutch. I challenged some of the older ducks to a dry clutch rattle off contest. The single plate Scura (lever out) won handily. The star of the show. Can you see the winglets at the front of the fairing just under the handlebars? I think we are not too far away from seeing ailerons and rudders controlling body lean in MotoGP. And finally, some other Ducks on display.
  9. Even though the track lap is slow, it is still a hoot. Entering turn 1 at street speeds is awe inspiring, I can't conceive of doing it at race speed.
  10. Canonman, where did you source the Tenni stickers from? I'm having no luck trying to find Scura stickers.
  11. Is the fuel light on when the backfire occurs? On an EFI bike, a backfire is usually an electrical problem causing an ignition timing problem.
  12. Almost 3/4 of the floor space at my local "power sports" mega dealer is dedicated to side by side UTV's. Bikes are now in a corner in the back in an area that seems to shrink daily.
  13. Looks like dried gasoline. Must be sloshing into your tank vent or dribbling some in there on fill ups.
  14. Edmond, OK to Tellico Plains is a mere 898 miles ! Mesa, AZ to COTA is 1019 miles of the shittiest boring freeway ever.
  15. BTW, be sure to check out the Hand Built Motorcycle Show, always on the same weekend as MotoGP. Guzzi was the featured manufacturer last year.
  16. When you buy your tickets (must pre-buy over phone from COTA), you ask for the Ducati Island Package. I personally buy the BMW cycle corral package, which includes seats, the lot C (close) parking, swag bag, and track laps. There's a cycle corral package for each major manufacturer. Any Italian bike is welcome on the Ducati Island package. The Ducati island package is basically the same as the other cycle corral packages with the exception of being able to park on the Ducati island (grassy area near the amphitheater) and Ducati hospitality tent. I'm lucky, my best riding bud lives in Austin a few miles from the track. I do know that they JACK up the prices of hotels for the event weekend and they get crazy expensive. The further north you go in town, the better the prices are. As for track workers, the island is not a track worker perk. I did do track work two years ago, as a flagger in Turn 11. It was a lot of fun but also a LOT of work. 6AM-5PM days. There is a website you can sign up on if you want to do it. I had zero prior experience when I signed up. The only decent perk of track work is you get to watch the races from inside the fence. http://msreg.com/motogp2019
  17. I'll be there for the sixth consecutive time !! I ride in from Arizona. I'll be on my BMW K1600BGA. It would be nice to bring the Scura, because it would grant me entry onto the Ducati Island, but I Iron Butt the ride home and 1000 on the Scura in a day would be a bit much. You can find me on the grass on the west side of the tower, on Turn 18. Anybody but Marquez !!
  18. Willing to ride down from Mesa to the old Pueblo or thereabouts.
