I like me a nice derrière! This is a bewitching, voluptuous Italian woman bike full of character, none of that dolled up skinny ass tramp living on carrots and kale...

Hey, ski jumping!! That reminds me of home, where is that?

1997 Sport 1100i - New to me. Paddock Stand Options
Speedfrog replied to MotoTim's topic in Older models
I think it has to do with product safety testing and licensing requirements for manufacturers to sell in the US. It is an expensive and long process and probably not worth it to them for such a small market item. And they would have to do it for each and everyone of the different iterations of the same type stand for all the bikes models... Somehow, vendors are able to circumvent that and import and sell these stand as MG Cycles does. -

FYI - Becker doesn’t ship to US. -
Paging @Lucky Phil to the white courtesy phone... Art, I assume you've read the post docc referred to earlier in the thread - that’s a pretty good endorsement for the newer gasket imo.

^^^^^^^^^ +1 on the Becker Technik! I got mine (2 actually, one for the V11 and one for the Griso) from SD as well, and I like ‘em. I’ve never had any issues with SD, they tend to keep good stock, often have better pricing once you take the VAT off and they ship lickity-split. I don’t remember what kind of instructions came with them but it’s not too hard to figure out, and if in doubt, there is lots of info to be found here and on the interweb. @activpop might even send you a copy of his in english if you ask nicely PS: SD ships from Germany at a flat rate so it is advantageous to order any parts you might need at the same time. -
Where did you source the timing chest cover gasket #GU05001231? I checked the usual MG vendors and it doesn’t seem to be of the garden-variety type item.

I love to learn about products I’ve never heard about before, “210” is a new one for me. There is another Honda product that works well for plastics, “Honda Spray Cleaner & Polish”. And they are both a lot cheaper (Guzzi content) than “Plexus”..

Hey Paul, have you checked Formotion? They have nice instruments designed for motorcycle and such at Timex prices (Guzzi content). https://www.formotionproducts.com -
If you look at the part catalog for the Griso, which has the clutch bleeder extension pipe, you’ll find the right banjo bolt methink. All the other parts you listed are correct. https://www.af1racing.com/ProdImages/st3/GU088.pdf#page37 Hopefully Scud will be along to confirm.

Front wheel from a 2002 Le Mans will fit a 2004 v11 with Ohlins?
Speedfrog replied to arveno's topic in Technical Topics
You will need to swap the bearings and the inner spacer in order to fit the Öhlins axle. -

Ok, let’s drift.... A real sundial is built on the ground, not attached to the house. But if you really wanted to.... -

Or you could buy a house with a sundial for the price of one of their timepieces... You wouldn't have to worry about grit bringing it to a halt and it would still indicate time a thousand years from now -

The Picker 1C for our application has a coil power of 1.5W with a resistance of 96 ohms @ 12V. You got that right! That's an awful lot of ink for a $2.50 part... It all depends how much you value your time, ROI and all that. I'd say, get a baker's dozen, carry a couple of spares under the seat and fuhgeddaboudit And ride the damn bike....

Not just the washer — the bolt and the associated nut have a different part #.

My experience with AF1 is that their inventory showed on the product page is pretty accurate(unlike Harper's) and when an item is not in stock, the delivery time showed will pretty much tell you whether the item in the US (3 to 4 weeks) or in Italy (2 to 3 months). If an item is NLA it is simply not listed. Of course it doesn't hurt to ask if you want to make sure of the availability of a part. Note that AF1 doesn't take phone calls anymore, which I can't blame them for as it can waste a lot of resources answering questions all day, but they are very responsive through email and you will most likely get an answer within 24h directly from Ed Cook, the boss there.

Yes, you're right, there is always potential for the bean counters to undercut the engineering dept to a certain point. But I doubt they would have gambled with safety aspects or crucial (expensive) equipment such as an ECU. One can always be optimistic, but like you said, we'll probably never know. And one can also be reminded of what happened with the valve train of the early CARC 8V engine...
