    My15M

Has anyone fitted one of Jefferies' My15M ECUs? If so, what is the verdict, please? Positives and negatives, please. Richard
  2. Judging from the way the exhausts are flaring out, I'd say it's not in a bike, so I'd have to go with one of the V-twin powered trikes that they produced for the army...
  3. Errrr.... you didn't put that bet on did you....?!
  4. Guzzirider, What was the outcome of flowing the heads - how much better was the ride-ability afterwards.....?
  5. Isn't this referring to the existing 1200cc engine that the MGS-01 uses, rather than the new engine...?
  6. Am I the only guy who hasn't had to "adjust" the sidestand mounting holes after installing the Roper plate?!
  7. I wonder if they'll take the motor and put it into something Le Mans-ish.....
  8. A set of big hammers and large spanners and screwdrivers! There's not much that a set of allan keys and spanners won't do.....
  9. It was left on the sidestand. Looks like I'll have to get them re-sealed!
  10. As I've been at sea, the V11 has been sat idle for a while. When I came to ride it the other day, there was a pool of fork oil in the rim of the front wheel and both stanchions were coated in fork oil, as though both the oil seals have gone. I'm not discounting the idea that they have both gone, but it would seem unlikely that they would both go at the same time, especially given the forks were rebuilt during the last service, 4000 miles ago. Has anyone had a similar problem/can anyone shed any light on this?
  11. What a lovely pair.....
  12. That's some really nice stuff. Just wish I could afford/justify £21000 on an street legal MGS01!!!
  13. You guys only get a warning for doing 15 mph over the speed limit?! Over here that's license loosing territory, let alone points!!
  14. The one for sale at Corsa Italiana is a Stucchi - just give them a call and they'll be happy to help. I bought mine from there and I think I paid £200.
  15. On the V11? Yes. They are the titanium oval ones and combined with the Stucchi crossover sound lovely...
  16. Ok, so the other one isn't a V11, but anyway....

    M G Trckbike?

    It looks shit hot anyway!!
  18. I was just wondering as to the function of it.... The problem with getting the engine back into the frame is that if I put the bolts into the front end first, then the whole unit sits too far back to get any of the gearbox mounting bolts in, or if I do it the other way round and put the gearbox bolts in first then I can't get two of the front mounting bolts in...
  19. Does anyone know if the triangle piece fitted between the frame and the top of the bell housing is actually needed, as the V11s don't seem to have it? Also, has anyone with an 1100i had any issues getting the engine back into the frame? Mine always requires a little "persuading"!!! Cheers Richard
  20. Try having a look at the neutral switch on the gearbox. See if there is any difference in the continuity when in neutral and not, then check for continuity with the side-stand switch when the stand is up and down. If they all check out, remove the left hand controls and jiggle the stop/run switch about a bit and try starting it again. If all this checks out, then it's time to do continuity checks on the wiring on the cut out circuit with the side-stand switch. If all this checks out, the only other thing I can think of would be a problem with the ECU. I'm sure it wouldn't be this and I'm sure there are those much more knowledgeable than me who can add further assistance. Richard Btw, if there is enough juice for the lights then there would usually be enough for the fuel pump to prime the system and it wouldn't explain the lack of neutral light.
  21. That is one gorgeous bike........ The scenery isn't bad either!!!
  22. Sorry to ask this, but just for interest, why do you feel the need to carry....?
  23. Unless you guys in the States got a different speedo than the rest of the world (including the UK) that's not the original speedo - the bike's probably done more than 42k miles.
  24. As far as I am aware there are no special tools required for taking the gearbox apart, but beware, the selector drum will need re-shimming when you put it back together (this may be the cause of any poor shifting at present - apparently the factory was terrible at shimming the 'boxes when new). You will need to disassemble the 'box in neutral to clear the selector drum/selector arm. I have not heard of any especially loud gearboxes with the helical gears - the straight cut are very whiney. Sorry I can't be any more help. Richard
  25. My other bike, a 1996 Sport i, is the same as yours - I'm about to try a new oil in it and will let you know if this makes a difference, just need to get the thing back into one piece first!!
