  1. I think you'll find that's the correct side of the road...! Beautiful ride out and a lovely bike. The evenings over here have mostly been a washout for the past few weeks.
  2. While this photo may be a photoshop, this bike actually exists. I saw one in our local dealer yesterday.....

    Intermot 2008

From the literature: "The motorbike manufacturing company that has chalked up 3329 victories in international competitions, including 14 world speed titles, 22 world records and 11 Tourist Trophies, has racing in its DNA. This is why it gives full attention to the sports model market segment, in the heart and minds of entire generations of fans." did I miss a new road-going sports bike released?!!?
  5. In that case, what makes a Guzzi a Guzzi? It is not that it is built at Mandello. If you want a "proper Guzzi" then you have to go out and buy one which was built when Guzzi was independent. You cannot tie any badge to a specific place of manufacture. The days of a Guzzi like the types which you are referring to are long gone. Even the later V11s have some Aprilia in them, does that make them not proper Guzzis? Of course not. Guzzi needs to pull itself out of the 1970s and it is only going to be able to do that with Piaggio's money. If that means a relocation, then so be it!
  6. I did not mean any offence. If I have offended, I am truly sorry. I will gladly wind my neck in.
  7. I'm sorry? I do not mean any offence and this may be a cultural divide, but why are you posting this here?!

  9. There is a connector block going to the regulator which should be zip-tied to the front A frame, check this out. From memory it has four wires going to it. When my bike started playing up I found that the wires to this connector had corroded and broken free from the connector...

    Guzzi gossip

That's alright, it usually takes Guzzi 2-3 years to get anything off of the drawing board anyway......
  11. If the regulator/rectifier has gone, you may not get a charge warning light....
  12. That can be fairly normal. Does it go away as soon as the revs pick up? What rpm are you doing at idle?
  13. Hmmm.... I feel a drunken test coming on....
  14. As far as I know they are for all the V11s...
  15. I have no doubt that it would work fine, was more concerned if you happened to touch the engine with one of your fingers whilst pressing the button.... I'm sure that going through your hand is a much easier path for the electricity than going through the starter...
  16. Is that a metal bracket holding the starter switch onto the positive supply to the starter.....?

    MGS01

Glad to hear that you're ok. Was there much damage to the bike?
  18. There should be a hole in the other end of the pin so that you can wire-lock the pin in place. If you are worried about it, just wire-lock it once rebuilt.
  19. tbh, even if the alignment is wrong, it's a very simple job to straighten it out, as it's a shaftie....
  20. Your intake manifold is leaking oil? There are no oil lines there to leak. The only thing that I can think of is that the oil feed to the rocker box, which sits in the 'V', needs to be nipped up again. If that is slightly weeping then there will be a small amount of oil collecting around the inlet manifold...
  21. Fabled?!? I've seen such a V11 myself, it was parked up next to a flying pig!!
