  1. Actually, as asking prices go these days, $1200US is more like 1/4 to 1/3. Just suspicious. Maybe it won't shift out of first and the starter won't engage. Throw the guy a grand and fix the clutch connectors and put in a Chuck-designed Scud Spring . . . .
  2. Welldone, man! Everything you are doing is going to help and be additive. I learned from gstallons that the "copper antisieze" I was so dedicated to is an insulator. Caig DeOxit is the bomb!
  3. Nicely done, KINDOY! Instead of just pushing the bracket to the inside, consider loosening all of the exhaust connections and mounts, then "grooming" the system to de-stress the components, tightening in steps in a "star" pattern from the heads back ensuring all of the joints are tight together. On one occasion after this method, I lost a rather small exhaust leak and was surprised how much running and idle smoothed out.
  4. Not sure what the added "1" designation is. I do not see it in the product description sheet from OMRON ("R" is surge suppression /built in resistor): https://omronfs.omron.com/en_US/ecb/products/pdf/en-g8he.pdf Indeed, the #1 Relay is the only 5-pin, but they (5-pin/"C" pattern) can be installed in every position, and therefor moved about freely as necessary. $10.80 each? Yikes! Why not just get them for $3.91 each from onlinecomponents, fill every slot and have an extra set?
  5. Yet, I never really thought about short tanks on the first long frames of 2002. This must be true of Scura and Tenni, as well.
  6. FWIW, this link to onlinecomponents still shows the OMRON G8HE High Current relay in stock. Minimum order is ten, but that is one for every position and a set of extras (for your buds who didn't get the memo ): https://www.onlinecomponents.com/omron-electronics/g8he1c7trdc12-42670683.html Be sure to score a can of Caig DeOxit to spritz all your V11 contacts. She will love you back!
  7. A cream puff! A Decent Tune-up will likely work some wonders even without connecting guzzidiag. If you have a voltmeter to baseline the TPS and a way to balance the throttle bodies, these are critical steps along with a fresh valve adjustment. It gets my attention about the tachometer behavior, though. That is classic for a faulty #2 Relay. Swap in the #3 (middle) Relay. That is for the neutral switch and is lightly stressed. Best case is to source true High Current Relays, but they are hard to come by I hear.
  8. How many miles on Sugar Plum?
  9. I kinda doubt that bike exists for sale. The kind of ad that smacks of fraud. I could be wrong. Lots of other reasons why it’s half price....
  10. Bad running + erratic tachometer often implicates Relay #2 (from the front), or it’s contacts. Early V11 also rely on the weak NC contacts of Relay #1. Sometimes, if swapping #3 and 4 for #1 and 2 improves the issues, failed relays are revealed.
  11. Sketchy. Web search the email address for fraud reports.
  12. It is the major difference between the Tonti frame and the Spine Frame that would be the biggest difference .
  13. Good point, po18guy makes, that the early steel buckets like mine and KINDOY/Scud's Greenie differ from the later plastic buckets. "V11 Sport" throughout the years used the fork mounted steel Bosch unit.
  14. After other attempts at brighter headlamp (and tail/turn), I've had good results with this VintageCars unit. This post also takes you to thread with other options, including links and experiences with tail and turn signal LED:
  15. Yeah, if you want to download the map, Reader is used (guzzidiag, itself, will not do that). True what you say about fussy connectivity and that Com Port selection is sometimes an issue (but not on every OS). Also, affirmative that downloading the FTDI Driver for either Windows or MacOS X is necessary after downloading guzzidiag. Step 2 in the "Basic Tutorial":
  16. I see the (fuel) pump is new? Perhaps a check that it's electrical connections (as you have planned to check) and inlet fuel hose have not loosened?
  17. I've never used the reader (or writer), but have connected guzzidiag to several V11 and one 1200Sport. My experience has been that guzzidiag opens without having to go to individual files or packets. It is the sequence of plugging up, opening guzzidiag, and switching the bike on that seems to make a difference whether it will connect. There is the matter of selecting the com port from the drop down menu and selecting your V11 model, as well.
  18. guzzidiag works on my MacBookPro OS 10.13.6. I am uncertain what Windows versions it may or may not work on. I never liked the backprobing, either. So glad when the breakout harness became available from Casper's! My understanding, from the guys in-the-know, is that the throttle "Degrees Open" shown on guzzidiag is not accurate enough to set the TPS.
  19. How many miles on the LeMans, Tom?
  20. guzzidiag stands alone without the reader/writer. BTW, the TPS should be checked and set with a voltmeter. Have you tried to run guzzidiag from your Mac?
  21. Wow, that's an old post, but I did see @OldButNotDead on here recently, so maybe this tag will help him see your post, Fede!
  22. I am no expert on this, but, try a different USB port. Also, make sure the Run Switch is on and use the Ignition Switch to turn on and off.
  23. FWIW, cramping (spontaneous myospasm) is a function of electrolyte (mineral) deficiency or imbalance often exacerbated by mineral loss from exertion, heat/humidity exposure, prescription hyertension medications ("blood pressure pills"), prescription diuretics ("water pills"), dietary diuretics (coffee, alcohol), and subclinical dehydration (not enough water intake). While potassium is one of the mineral electrolytes, magnesium is also involved as are others, including sodium, manganese, chromium, selenium, etc. Often, branded supplements will contain their "title" content (B-complex or C), but also some electrolytes causing one to assume it is the "title" content providing the outcome. An example is the product "Emergen-C", a drink mix that contains a broad spectrum electrolyte effective for cramp control in many cases. It is not the Vitamin C that affects the cramping, but the electrolytes. Seek a broad spectrum electrolyte capsule and be aware that too much magnesium yields laxative effects. Be aware that B-complex vitamins (not so much B-12) stimulate the energy metabolism and should be avoided late in the day lest they lead to a bad night's sleep and a grumpy tomorrow . . .
  24. I can attest the cg "For Off Road Only Pipes" (that Dave Blue of MGNA told me were probably made by Mistral), the Tekno panniers, and the Stucchi Luigi color-matched fiberglass bikini faring were all in dealer literature as official accessories in 2000. Other items (the canisters in metal and the jackets) may have become available in 2001, this I do not know. IIRC, Gio says he has the accessories brochure.
  25. Right? I've thought more than a few times I should get his Greenie thinking everyone needs a parts bike. Then it always hits me: I already have the parts bike!
