I know the main, larger fastener is to be torqued to 75 NM and both the fasteners often get neglected. The V11 set-up, although very Rube Goldberg, is the easiest to use of the SpineFrame stands, but an Achille's Heal if the stand breaks the sump spacer. Is this the same configuration as the 1100 Sport-i wide sump?

After the suspension work on my Sport, which increased the rear ride height and spec'd the springs for my weight, my sidestand has never touched down again. @Pressureangle - How different is all the bracketry, or the stand itself, between the 1100 Sport-i and the V11? (AFAIK, all V11 stands are the same.)

Care to share your build dates, gentlemen? My March 2000 Sport has not faded.

That would be this very thread . . . Circuit breaker has been running three years, 14,000 miles/22.500 km. I routinely shut it off to isolate the regulator during external charging as instructed by my OEM regulator supplier.

Sweet looking Sport! Faded red frame sideplates were seen on very early V11. What is the build date on the headstock plate?

Clamping surface seems to measure 53mm, but that may be what 54mm clip-ons clamp to? And the bars do look to measure 7/8". Or right around 22 and 1/4 mm if we want to mix fractional and metric a bit more . . .

The early Sports clipped on below the top triple with a riser. Perhaps an homage to the 70s V7 Sport's delicious "Goosenecks" . . .

You know, there is a reason the "centerfold" was invented. Teasing with a tiny picture of something drop-dead gorgeous is . . . well, a tease . . .

Seems like a lot to me. My ShortFrame's triples are dropped 5mm, the rear raised "some." Would not want more. I remember making a café first year GoldWing (speaking of heavy, long slow steering bikes . . .) and dropping the triples about an inch/ 25mm. It made it feel awkward and ended up about 12mm (1/2"). Not sure that helps, but 30mm seems worth a fair dose of circumspect caution.

How much more would you have to raise them to mount clip-ons? I'm not sure how proud the Ballabio's are to begin with. Early Sports are flush.

More evidence and observation of our collective, rampant confusion! Are we V11-ers even accepted Guzzisti? Red-headed step-children? Or just wild-ass fringe cowboys? Most times, there is no call for me to describe the Sport in detail. I, too, would have tried with that fellow. But given up just as quickly. I love how quickly this progresses to "pet names." - - - -> "Stephania!" "BigRed!" "The Varsseveld Tuxedo" . . . I have known riders so talented at naming their bikes (and cars). I've just never been able to pull that off eloquently. -
These have been heat shielded in numerous ways besides the metal braid. I've had good results adjusting the length and moving the pump forward as much as possible to groom the line away from the head and cylinder as much as possible. Scud made some up that were very nice:

I remember once having a no start/ no neutral light and I could roll the bike back in forth like it was in neutral. But it was between gears and wouldn't start since the neutral switch and its middle relay were not activated. Felt pretty stupid. At least I figured it out before taking the bike completely down to bits . . .

As gstallons says . . . If you roll the bike back & fro to make sure it is really in neutral and only one click up from first (not a 'false' neutral), it should crank with the stand down. If not, it's the middle relay/ neutral switch/ connection on the left of the gearbox sideplate. That neutral switch spade connector is so vulnerable under its wee rubber boot . . .

Absolutely no reason to back up the map unless you plan on loading a new one. Looks all good. Why mess with it? Otherwise, non-access to the ECU through guzzidiag can occur for several reasons. (I am not the expert on this) . . . Engine must be at operating temperature. When you say "99", is that F or C? Make sure you have selected the correct V11 model in Preferences and guzzidiag declares "connected." What makes you say you have a Titanium map?

imgzeit was done by v7cafe, not coincidentally, but in response to our content loss from PhotoBlockit's first stunt blocking all images and demanding subscription payment. He also built one of the first tools to transfer image albums out of there to a reliable host. They kept finding it and shutting it off and he kept rebuilding it to keep helping people rescue their own images. Not just this forum, either; folks from all walks all over the world. Then "imgzeit" for $11US/yr. Makes me proud. (My oldest son, who rides with us and now has the V85TT )
