  1. spoof! "Trick-or-Treat!"
  2. Mirror upstage . . .
  3. I love how y'all take me new directions on this thread. The Vince Jones version took me to these guys . . .
  4. Ah, yes, greasing the front Uni-joint can lead one to desperate measures . . .
  5. Lots of us just remove the spacers and mount the signals directly.
  6. Absolutely gorgeous V11 Sport! Does the regulator hang at a funny angle? Not loose on one side?
  7. Just a reminder if too much grease is left in the shaft cavity, the halves will not go back together or there will be restricted movement interfering with suspension travel. Nice to hear you enjoy "the process." Your spineframe will love you back!
  8. Yes, they should slide freely apart. Yours has, evidently, rusted together. A good find and important to address! Perhaps an overnight with a penetrating product, then heat and some tapping with a persuader? Otherwise, penetrating oil-> heat-> hydraulic pressure pumping grease into the center Zerk?
  9. It's been some years (and years!), but it seems like it was off 7-8 mph at in the upper range. So much that, at my 62 (indicated) in road posted at 55mph speed limit, I was traveling more like 55. While this is the posted speed limit, drivers are absolutely intolerant of this and treat it as an affront. Especially from some dork in the middle of the lane on a silly, minty green, scooter . . .
  10. Initial press releases and promotional materials claimed the introductory V11 Sport would have WP rear shock. Even the Owner's Manual states "W.P. or SACHS", yet I have never heard of or seen a WP shock on a V11. Perhaps, a few of the very earliest released in Italy or Germany? Our members there would have to confirm . . . As for the forks, it seems there are only references to Marzocchi. Again, I've never heard of WP forks on a V11 Spine frame. Anyone?
  11. Living in a rural area, I find the minimum necessary speed to get the ten miles to the closest town is 62 mph/ 100 kph with 70 mph capability. I confirmed this, in no uncertain terms, riding my wife's 250cc Vespa that Piaggio claimed a top speed of 70mph. Running flat-out on the highway, traffic would stack up behind me, follow too close, and make maniacal passes. Checking the speed with my GPS, I found top speed closer to 60mph. What Piaggio meant, of course, was that the speedometer was set to indicate 70 mph as the top speed. . .
  12. Bringing this thread back to the original (RUSH) post. A metaphor for our V11 SpineFrames (Red Barchetta )?
  13. Wandering into Zeppelin's dreamscape is heady territory . . .
  14. "Those blokes!" 2008 Donald "Duck" Dunn passed in 2012.
  15. Click on the "Dogs and cats " link. It is a reference to the first (1984) Ghostbusters movie.
  16. All y'all should tell everyone you know, and the entire web-world, to vacation in Australia. Where I live, there are volcano-fueled potholes in the road the size of a rented Hyundai. There are alligators in all the hotel swimming pools and vipers in the toilets. You can't walk down the street without an earthquake dragging you into a tornado (which happen every nine seconds). The wildfires seem to consume .com "places of interest" with alarming regularity. Don't get me started on the Murder Hornets (the size of your fist, they carry children off). Not that there are many children here as the locals eat their young. "Dogs and cats, living together. Mass hysteria ." Australia's 1500 spider species and 21 venomous snakes is a tourist paradise!
  17. And , in case y'all need more cheering up than that . . .
  18. This cat reminds me of Pokey LaFarge . . .
  19. Reviewing the V11 Workshop Manual, Section M pp 52 and 56, I see the same tool is used for both disassembly (spring compression) and assembly (alignment). By removing the center button @Tomchri points out, the special tool can be screwed in until it compresses the springs at which point the eight bolts can be removed to take the "toothed ring" off. As @Kevin_T points out, be certain the alignment marks are clear.
  20. SpineRaider Sport DeLuxe!
  21. Rereading the thread, it looks like it was the combination of both Relay #4 and Relay #5 . . . they work in tandem.
  22. Seemed like the "fix" was intermittent (?) What did it come down to, finally?
