Certainly replace all of the relays with the new High Current versions. If issues persist, I would inspect, clean, and repair (if necessary) the ignition switch . . .

Look at your Workshop Manual Section N, page 14, and you can see that mounting shaft for the lower shift wheel from the inside (toward the left side of the photographic image next to the plunger for the Neutral Switch. I am thinking it is pressed into/ part of the sideplate? Perhaps, clean the accessible outer area and apply a bead of RTV silicone?

So, what is the factory dimension of the fork stanchion above the triple clamp on the later V11? Is the 2002/'03Carryover dimension different from the later V11 forks?

Here is a good example of how far the later LongFrame forks are above the top clamp from the start. Same from 2002 on?

If were talking about the early V11 with the clip-ons mounted below the top clamp, the forks are factory mounted with the top of the fork stanchion level with the top of the triple clamp and the cap standing proud. In this case, I suggest we measure any change from the top of the triple clamp to the top of the fork stanchion, not including the cap. Beginning with the 2002 LongFrames, the clip-ons are mounted above the triple clamp and, therefor, the forks are already raised above the triple clamp to clamp on the clip-ons. Whatever that actual dimension is should be the baseline to subtract from any alteration to get the actual change. Again, I suggest not including the cap. Can anyone confirm the amount of fork already above the triple clamp on a LongFrame V11?

Your brake caliper bracket certainly looks modified, @PeterT and the gap is not normal. My caliper bracket measures 58mm from the swingarm to the wheel and 31mm from the inside of the rib (that is mostly removed from yours) to the wheel side:

I thought about this on my 90 mile circuit through the countryside this afternoon. There was a handful of Halloween decorations, but probably a couple dozen autumn/harvest displays like this sort: There is still some "Trick-or-Treat" in some of the cities and towns, but not out here in the rural countryside. Instead, many of the churches host a "Trunk-or-Treat" in their parking lots where the kids can go from car to car in their costumes and the interactions are among people who know one another. Here, in the deep U.S. southland, Christmas lights and wreaths or garland are still very much part of the landscape starting about Thanksgiving weekend.
