When I can remember , I remove the battery from them when I finish . Jus like today I went to measure something........DEAD battery ! Maybe I will remember some day .

Uh oh . I can't get your link to work .

Sacrificial ? Just what are you doin' out there in that shop ?

I used a razor blade to remove the old boots . After getting them off and out of the way , I see the r.h. injector has not been spraying fuel . For now , I am looking to see which wires trigger each injector . I am going to manually trigger them to see the injector ( or lack of ) spray pattern . Then on to step 2 and beyond . It is now a matter of triggering each injector to get a good look at the spray pattern . The l.h. side is flooding and the r.h. side is the opposite . If I were smart enough to put the pics of things , you could see my problem . Now I am going to need advice on how to remove the injectors to send to a fuel injector service for repairs !

The question I am going for , I can't get the throttle bodies back far enough to install the new boots . I need to know the procedure . Do I disassemble , bend or break ?
-
I am going to replace the rubber boots on the throttle bodies on my 03 bike . Before I start , I would like advice , hot tips or anything to aid in this procedure . TIA !

Duh , all laws are revenue producers under the guise of safety . If everyone did nothing illegal for 60 days ............... -
If they still sell them , Snap-On sells a spark plug gapping plier that is PERFECT for gapping plugs . I don't remember the part # . I will check when the sun comes up and post it . You don't want to squeeze too hard or you can push the center electrode outta sight !
-
As far as the valve clearance setting , I would set them at a loose 0.006 & a loose 0.008 .

Mine is here & installed

Hmmmm. IDK what the idle speed is when the TPS angle is 0.540v . You should adjust idle speed w/the idle air bypass screws . Don't concern yourself w/watching a tach needle to get the idle speed you want .
-
I don't "think" the angle of the nipples have to be opposite for the driveshaft to be balanced . The concern is the coulped front/rear driveshaft phasing . This is critical so anyone that doesn't understand should watch videos , look at these driveshafts w/slip yokes to fully understand what is going on . Historically , I have seen a lot of these in pick-ups . big trucks , etc. where the driveshaft has been removed and not reinstalled correctly . Study this until you KNOW what is right and wrong on a two-piece shaft .
-
You synched the throttle bodies and adjusted the l.h. idle screw to get 0.540 mV on the tps ? I assume the air boots from the throttle bodies to cylinder head are in perfect shape ? I am having the same problem and find my air boots are cracked . I am getting new ones and hope this will cure my problem(s) . Mine cranks forever and when / if it starts , the plugs are wet and the engine misfires . BTW , my bike has been PERFECT in the past and this season I am scared to ride it past the driveway . Chevron makes the best fuel injector cleaner to go in the fuel system
-
I hope you are installing AC Delco (premium) spark plugs ? AC changes #s when they go to a different electrode plating on the center / ground electrodes and other improvements .
-
Now , explain your tps setting . Did you set this at COMPLETE closed throttle plate ?
-
Be VERY careful installing any roller bearing . They cannot tolerate any axial load . Remember the spacer problem from the past !
-
Yeah , you will have to use the document for the brand . My SKF stuff doesn't break the suffix down for the part # suffix you posted .
-
You got me on y or n on the recall fact . Don't take the chance , if your on top of things DIY !
-
Go to a bearing website and see . I had a SKF paper printed , lost it . The suffix will describe quality , high speed or not , grease quality , etc. Don't think any 204 will do . Don't think the $7.95 bearing is as good as a $19.95 bearing . Do the research , do you want to be on the side of the road or in your driveway enjoying Eric Clapton on the CD player while you and your friends are discussing the day's ride ?

Buddy , you ain't the only astonished man on this planet .
