  1. Uh.............you are properly installing an 1157 or similar 2 filament bulb properly into the socket ?
  2. Yep !
  3. You can do this one side at a time. Pry the caliper piston back into the caliper with a large regular screwdriver and then insert the new pad. Go to the other side and repeat the process. Be gentle and pry on the surface of the rotor wher the brake pad does not run and you will be good to go.
  4. I am sure all years of V11s will fit. Some of the more knowledgeable members will tell you more than I can. I would consider anodizing over painting. This is a permanent solution so make sure of the color choice. I don't know if you can un-anodize something ?
  5. I looked on the box the cap came in..............pretty old but it fits Triumph,Ducati & Aprillia........ If I remember eBay seller had a "buy it now" or "make offer" price... There are MANY to choose from. Anodized colors, styles, etc. BTW........theses are stainless steel fasteners so don't drop any in the fuel tank. A magnet will not pick them up.I know this from experience.
  6. This is going to be a job, but remove the tail lamp housing and disassemble it. You will find two contacts that need to be bent to make a better contact. You can then fill the cavity with white grease or an electrical grease so it will keep out humidity.
  7. your "pit tootsie" putting the final touches on your bike ?
  8. I will look when I get home this weekend to see the application decal on the box the cap came in......I think it is Ducati, Aprillia, etc. Don't take my word for it though.
  9. Uhhhh , i think you are correct. You can spray lots of spray LUBRICANT in the lock cylinder to get it open. I solved my problem by purchasing an Oberon fuel cap from eBay.
  10. Well.............. I hope your kidney problem get better !
  11. No problem at all..... If no oil is lost during the process you are fine. I couldn't recall if the cavity is dry or if it is full of oil.
  12. That will be no problem at all. How much oil do you lose in this process ?
  13. Oh yeah..........there is at lesst one member that has one. It came from The Tank Shop, in England ?
  14. Did someone else verify your EXACT speed for you ?
  15. An aluminum fuel tank will cure every problem you have. Other than that............you will have to endure this .
  16. You use the spark plug brand and part # your service or owners manual calls for. No wildcat brand or extra irridium-plutonium-platinumstuff........
  17. Whew..........you have a lot of time on your hands !
  18. If you have been running Redline, I would continue to use it. Google a dealer or call around and locate a seller in your area. You should be able to locate this in your area.........
  19. oh.....the sound is "Bad to the Bone" .
  20. Yes, he and Charley Boorman made two movies..The Long Way Round & The Long Way Down...He made it plain where his heart is.. with his Griso !

  22. TB's are now synched, seemed like about 17 on the mercury sticks. TPS is at 520 at idle. Bleed screws 1/2 out. Idle around 1400. Ran great until it got hot, then started snick snick hiccups and wanting to die at stop signs. I'll check the valve lash and report back. Seems like the hotter the bike gets the worse it runs. Does the engine temp sensor lean out the mixture when the engine gets hot? Thanks again Docc, you are a huge help. Are you running a stock ECU or PowerCommander ?
  23. There area few auto mechanics that loathe the K&N air filter. Me being one. I prefer the stock paper filter media. Yes, the filters are free.
  24. Arguement #1 applies to the automotive field . Arguement #2 involves any engine with an air filter. My specious arguement. #1 when a K&N oil impregnated air filter is used where there ia a Mass Air Flow meter is in the air inlet ( between the said filter and throttle plate) an accumulation of oil will get deposited on the two resistors in the MAF meter. This in turn causes the dust that passes the air filter to get stuck on the resistors in the meter. This accumulation acts as an insulator and changes the ability to read the airflow properly. When this takes place the MAF sensor cannot properly cleaned or serviced. It requires replacement. All General Motors Corp. vehicles will void the warranty if a K&N air filter is used. #2 I do not know what exact micron size a K&N filter will capture, so I cannot argue that point. I do know I do not think much of washing a filter ( and allowing the trapped dirt to then get on both sides of the filter) and putting oil back on (not an exact science), it then putting it back in service. When I rode dirt bikes, I decided it was best to just buy a new air filter, properly oil it, and install it rather than taking a chance on washing the filter . I want to state this is MY personal opinion. I am not on this site to argue with anyone. I have dumbasses on iatn.net to do that with. p.s. there is nothing wrong with properly washing and re-using a $10.00 condom either.
  25. I don't care for them....... I have seen bad results with them in them in the automotive field. I know it is a free country and you can do what you want. I do not think you can properly clean them and re-oil them w/o impurities getting on the inside of the filter.
