  1. The bike in the pics have CF fenders. Is yours CF or plastic ?
  2. Your bike has the Ohlins fork ?
  3. OOOOH , you need to Google Robertson screws . You will never use another style of woodscrew again .
  4. Hmmmm , IDK . My 87 SE is so full of quirks it is hardly rideable. BUT I cannot explain the acceleration , the twisting of the bike when you are accelerating and how the bike picks up in the rear while all of this is taking place . IIRC I could hit 60mph in 1st gear. Keep in mind it IS more than ready to go to 2nd when this is happening . From 5500 on (or til you are ready to get to the next gear) this bike takes OFF ! Anyone that has or had ridden an un-emasculated HP Guzzi knows the feeling !
  5. The response to all this : # 1 these engineers have never designed anything before . They have no failure under their belt , they have no success under their belt . The only thing they have going for them . Hubris . # 2 the same can be said for the mechanics . The same .
  6. re; you n the Vette . It sounds like are getting a little older . Plain and simple .
  7. This is so ugly and stupid
  8. Welcome to this forum and good luck w/this bike.
  9. All of the racket now is manufactured , written , produced and the singers are selected and is AI generated crap. Yes there are a few genuine musicians in existence. I will go along w/your point about blues music too. Blues music is different . I don't think there are that many counterfeit blues players. You have it or you don't . Plus you have blues and or blues influenced music. e.g. 99% of British music from the early 60s - on . Me , all good music is from Hwy 61.
  10. Girl , you better understand one thing . This little enigma machine is anything BUT a wise decision . You will come out of this with an appreciation , an understanding an awareness , and most of all a better person . You will find yourself around a bunch of professional people who want you to be satisfied with your bike and you will be able to shock yourself when you look at your wiring diagram like it is a 1960 road map . Grok . look it up
  11. You know country music is judged by/for it's authenticity . No other music is required to be "real". I don't listen to it but I appreciate the authenticity of it. any idiot can put together silly lyrics , "she thinks my tractor's sexy" . Hmmmmm. I don't . Hank sang his feelings , his history , his life . He was also a mortal who happened to be a god at the same time. He was called out for 6 encores on his first time at The Grand Ole Opry. SIX , yes six . they had to stop the encores because the rest of the show had to continue. This style of music IS Country music . Some artists still have it , this is what people listen for and to . I hope it never stops.
  12. audiomick , you need to retype all of this response in CAPS.
  13. Docc , that has been a while back . You just want to get the front/rear tracking the same. What these pivot adjusting pin/bolts are doing or where they end up mean very little . Think valve clearance adjusting screws. The lash is what matters . The # of threads doesn't matter. BTW , the thread pitch is 1.0 so every revolution changes things by 1.0mm
  14. $175/hr to play doctor ? Hmmm. What , uhh , do you own a CBX or is this a desire to own a CBX . To live in Decoy , Ky I have seen some exotic stuff around here along w/no desire to own any of it. Be careful for what you wish , you may get it
  15. Hmmm. 1 Don't buy ANYTHING you can't fix yourself . Get a bunch of biker buddies that own and work on their own bikes and hang out w/them too. 2 A great mechanic doesn't negotiate prices. a greater mechanic may let you watch them and instruct you on what they are doing , why and what you can DIY . A good mechanic will explain why they do something and what you can do . 3 Just because you want one doesn't mean you need one. I will have to quote a saying my Momma used to have "you need that like you need a possum with a red asshole". 4 If I didn't know as much as I do (especially joining THIS forum) , I would have regretted this bike .
  16. AFA all the prefix and suffix characters of bearings you will have to Google or look in a bearing manual to interpret the information. All that stuff has a reason so use all of this when purchasing replacement bearings. You do want the rear wheel tracking in the center of the path of the front wheel . I rigged up a contraption of two florescent lamp bulbs to show where the rear wheel is located in relation to the front. Use the center stand to keep the bike the bike upright and place the front wheel straight ahead . Make your adjustments to get the rear wheel in the center of tracking . When you get your alignment finished , tighten one adjustment screw to about 30 lbs to seat , back off and get it just snug (hand tight) then tighten the adjusting nut.
  17. All of the British bikes of the 60s-70s were beautiful in a showroom & a curse once they hit air and you got them in your name . Think Gremlins with a super duper dose of DMT .
  18. You have never been in a love/hate relationship until you have owned a British motorcycle .
  19. That is because he has air time and has to say somethin' . Lok at H-D , their forks are/were made by Showa , or whoever is the low bidder is now .
  20. There are so many components NO motorcycle company makes, Wheels , tires , bars , levers , cables , instruments , plastic components , switchgear , etc. That can be said about all manufacturers .
  21. Make sure you get everything as clos to 90degree angles and the same angle to get the best shift possible. A VERY old crane mechanic stressed the importance of this to me and I do it as much as possible.
  22. Got my patches ! Thank you . Send $$$ to the address shown ?
  23. It's bad when AARP starts handling ticket sales instead of Ticketmaster ! + you are looking for a Senior Citizen's discount .
