  1. Maybe. I've read that an analog meter is better for that. I had a bad TPS one time, and couldn't see it on the Techno research software. Refresh my memory. What is the setting on your idle mixture screws?
  2. Some guys could break a hammer..

    Diagnostic Cables

You don't really need the breakout harness.. it's just handy to have.
  4. Hmmm, thought I replied. It's Mexican night, and a Margarita may be involved.. but the break out harness isn't what you are referencing above. That's the GuzziDiag harness.
  5. You understand that we require pictures, right?
  6. Lets' call that 1 to 2 inches since I only talk 'Merican. I haven't measured it, but I'll bet the svelte V11S is pushing with (throwing dart) 100 lbs per square inch on the end of the sidestand. (or more) I can definitely see that wearing the stand pretty fast.
  7. I think it is safe to say that idling on the sidestand is not a good idea..
  8. Just to make it plain, the scotch and a beer I was talking about was from the night before. The 4 of us came up on the Harley doods pretty rapidly, and they started totally outriding their ability to keep us from passing. Crossing the centerline on blind corners.. that sort of thing. We simply pulled off, had a bottle of water, and waited for maybe 15 minutes or so. We just caught them again at the "roadhouse" at the top. I wonder what they were thinking when Jamaliah took off her helmet? At any rate, if you get a chance to run 180, I'd recommend it.
  9. Here's a pic of the Lario side stand ferinstance.. 2018-06-19_09-13-21 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
  10. We went there on the Jack-All rig, but there were a lot of big trees in the way. Finally found a trail that led us to Nevada.. There is a road going East out of Visalia.. let me look it up. You will like it. Excerpt from journal.. 10-11-14 Jam’s Rosso Corsa (!) was hard to start, and I vetoed taking it. I’d rather fix it in the garage than on the side of the road. Had a great ride, found my new favorite road.. 180 to the top of the mountain. Some Harley dix got in our way, so we decided to not try to pass. They were freakin dangerous. I expected one or more to run off the road or get hit by a car at any time. A few minutes wait was all it took. Lunch at the roadhouse on top, then some gorgeous scenery going down the mountain. Back to Jam’s, fixed her bike, had a little more scotch and a beer, dinner at a steak joint. A memorable trip, definitely a good time.
  11. Crap. I'd love to, but won't be back in SoCal until next fall.
  12. Yeah well Occam's razor tells me the Guzzi Engineers guessed wrong. If I remember, I'll take a couple of pix.
  13. Don't need one. I hope.
  14. Yeah, it certainly *acts* like a bent disc, but that should have shown up before the cleaning job. For sure, I'd put an indicator on the disc and rotate it. Any more than .002" runout is a problem.
  15. and I was just wondering why the foot is angled upwards and does not sit flat on a flat surface? for uneven surfaces? is this science or just fup duck? It's fairly typical. My guess is that on soft surfaces more of the foot comes into play as it sinks in.
  16. Have you determined whether it is ignition or fuel starvation? An inductive timing light will tell you if it is ignition. If so, I'd suspect the phase sensor or gap.
  17. Naa, an olde world craftsman would take a couple of days, make some tools, and form it to fit. This is just quick and dirty.. It'll probably work, though.
  18. I'm guessing that it was this way when Pete got it. I never let it idle, just start it up and motor (gently) off. However it is happening, I'll bet this will stop it. Some 1/16" Stainless flat stock, a little band saw work, brake, and hammer (V11 content) and dolly. 2018-06-16_02-15-37 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr I'll bead blast the stand and this piece, mix up a batch of Metal Set epoxy, and squoze it all together. Tomorrow, after the epoxy cures, I'll take a die grinder to it and make it look a little less crude.
  19. Ok, I'll have a go at making a stainless slipper..
  20. ^^^^Doing this inspection after I got it home to Indiana is when I found the sidestand foot almost worn through. I've been aware of the fragility of the whole assembly since the Centauro days. I didn't expect to find the foot almost worn off, though. Docc, I'm thinking this is a long term thing instead of a one time occurrence. It would have to slide a long way to "machine" that much material off the foot. Of course, that is just a guess. I am sure that it would have gotten the operator's undivided attention, though..
  21. Not unheard of..
  22. That must be some special stuff..

    Screw Loose

Holy Crap?? You are kidding, right?
  24. You are talking about the brass temp sensor holder? That was the final piece of the puzzle to make my Centauro run perfectly..
