Stiletto's has my vote Doc !! While you're bludgeoning the originator of the Pork chop with steamed asparagus and boiled potatoes, how about lobbing a few brussell sprouts in his general direction as well ? Cheers Guzzler

It does doesn't it. I know what you mean about the Laverda fairing as well Someone put one on a V11 and custom painted it dark blue awhile back which looked pretty good Anyone remember that custom Scura ( Japanese bloke I think ) also from a couple of years ago? I think that had a different fairing on it too That bike was a beauty I couldn't find the thread when I was looking for it before Cheers Guzzler Ps Bru, I have a bloody Ducati clutch lever on mine which is the cause of some consternation!!

Wow That's a hell of a deal for the buyer! I really really wanted one of these when I first saw them and photos of them on a green V11 The price made it prohibitive, would have been about $2500 by the time it got to Oz Then there's the issue of the lower bars to consider! Don't think my neck would have coped for long and then it would've made speed easier! This in a land where 3 k's over and you're fined, 30 over lose licence and anything silly they crush the bike!! Even so I continued to lust away unrequited Then one day I started to really appreciate the greenie with the little Stucchi flyscreen and realized that if I did get a Magni I'd be forever swapping back and forth between the two. Now I really really love her as she is ( with Stucchi ) and will leave her as she is! Still think a Magni looks good though.Makes it look like a 900SS bevel Duke that's been living in a good paddock! Hmm I'd still pick my greenie over the Duck if had the choice. Now a set of wire spoke wheels on the green one that's a different story! Maybe if the lotto numbers come up eh. In the mean time she's still a stunner who melts the heart every time! Cheers Guzzler

Wow, stunning to say the least! I saw the article in classic bike a few issues ago and thought the same then. Heh he, if the Tattslotto ( our local lotto ) numbers came up I'd get him to do a V11 Sport ( green of course ) for me ! That way I wouldn't have to wander up to the carport to gaze upon her! Cheers Guzzler

Great video and an even greater bloke I reckon! I thought I saw something on a laverda site the other day that he'd passed away recently? Hope he enjoyed himself as he did in the video up to the end ! Cheers Guzzler -

G'day mate I'll be replacing the main seal on my 01 greenie soon and wouldn't mind putting this bracket on whilst it's all apart. I noticed you mentioned you bought it at Moto International? I tried their website and the search but couldn't find a part # for it You wouldn't happen to remember or have the relevant part # by any chance? Also did you notice any difference in handling after this was done? Cheers Guzzler

Yep, second vote for a black and white 1200 sport ( 2 valver ) I really wanted one of these when they came out but couldn't afford ( justify ) it at the time. They were over $20K here in Oz. Anyways a little later after my neck op and funds not being used for house reno's became available ! I stumbled across the mighty V11 Sport and thought they might be an alternative. Not long after I found a green V11 Sport and checked her out! All I can say is Thank God I waited and found the greenie. I was gone the moment I hit the starter and she exploded into life. Bought her on the spot and have never looked back. Not ridden a newer Guzzi but I believe/ hear they just aren't as VISCERAL as our V11 and I couldn't put up with anything any more sanitized. But yeah if I had to, after that maybe a Griso? Cheers Guzzler.

Yep I've had PR 3 and currently run a set of PR 4 on my 01 Sport. You wont go wrong with either but I reckon the 4's are better. They'll stun you in the wet!! Cheers Guzzler

I also have the Hyperpro 460 after the Sachs was cactus at 40thou k's. Also have new springs and a re-valve up front and these mods have made a huge difference! We were living up in the Dandenong ranges ( hills area around Melbourne with plenty of curves ) when I had this done so I can highly recommend the mods!! Cheers Guzzler

A bloody good read! Thanks for posting it mate, it's always good to hear peoples V11 travel tales. Cheers Guzzler.

Mate I'm amazed at modern tyres, well the Michelin Pilot Road series anyways. Back in the day if you got 4 to 5 thou from a rear you were doing well. While I don't ride like I used to when I was younger ( 4 x discs in my neck fused together, rods etc ) I certainly don't baby her! However I must admit most of these kays have been commuting 140ks round trip to work on the freeway.Since we sold up and moved to the country 2 years ago I haven't had much time to just get out for a ride just for the sake of it.So I like to get a ride in at least once a week even if it's only the commute! So maybe this is a factor? Anyways I do hope to be able get a lot more riding in from now on as we have some great roads around here once you get away from the freeway. So it'll be interesting to see how long the PR4's last with some more fun in the hills !! Cheers Guzzler

Thanks Fella's I found some earlier tyre threads on the subject and the consensus seems to be to run with the 160 on a 4.5 inch rim! So to that end I've ordered a set. They get fitted next Friday. Looking forward to trying the 160. Cheers Guzzler Ps Roy the nail went in between the grooves then bent on an angle such that it cannot be repaired. Still I got 15 thou ( kays ) from it so all is not lost

G'day Folks Sorry to start a tyre thread, but I did a search and couldn't quite find the answers I was looking for, so thought I'd pose the question to your learned selves. When I went to put air in the tyres on Thursday night in preparation for my usual Friday commute to work I noticed the rear was reading 17psi, bugger! On checking yep, bloody great nail wedged in there! So looks like new tyres are in order. So now the question. I've been running Michelin PR 3's for the last 15 thousand kays 120/70/17 front and 170/60/17 on the rear on my 2001 V11 Sport and am bloody impressed with them. Now the PR 3 has been replaced with the 4 and wish to try these. The problem is they don't have a 170/60 except in the GT which is from what I can gather for luxury barge's like my mates Gold wing.I don't reckon the V11 needs such a tyre, but what are the consequences of running one on it? A harsher ride perhaps? So I'm leaning towards trying a 160/60 on her, and the main worry I have is will it speed up the steering much?Any issues? I've had the suspension sorted ( new fork springs, re-valved. and the rear has a Hyperpro 460 shock and set up for me ) and frankly think she steers quickly enough at the moment and I'm bloody happy with it and no issues with stability in a straight line either. I'd really appreciate any thoughts on the matter. Thanks and I promise not to mention oil. Cheers Guzzler.

Plus one on the Hyperpro 460! I turfed the standard Sachs unit when it had about 35 k's on it and it was gone. Very happy with the Hyperpro!!! Cheers Guzzler

+1 on the Michelin 2ct pilot road, offers good grip( i sometimes run them all the way to the edges ) and got 18500ks outa the front and 12000 or so from the rear. Best mileage of any tyre I've had so far that still has grip
