is KTM going to the gallows?
LowRyter replied to p6x's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Still makes no sense, unless the $ billionaire is just spending his own money to keep all that operation afloat. Or like I said, they're making money off the sports/entertainment as "life style" brand but seems doubtful. -

I've never understood either KTM or Red Bull. I assume that both companies are somehow wrapped up into some Austrian deep money pockets. Neither company seems have the sales outreach to match their respective marketing budget and international presence, particularly Red Bull. Maybe I don't know "what" Red Bull actually is? But if it's a soft drink company I don't see that many customers. If it's somehow a "life style" business and all of these marketing ventures are money making, different story (I guess). F1, MotoGP, Rallying, all kinds of sports and entrainment sponsorship from kayaking to stunt airplanes, I don't how it adds up. Perhaps the mystery was some of the appeal? -
Dinos were named after the Dino V6 engine. There was the Ferrari Dino and the front Engine Fiat Dino. Some say the Fiat was faster and lighter. Ferrari did build a successor. the 208/308 V8 Dino. mid engine 2+2. Gorgeous in it's own right. The prices have gone through the roof in the last couple of years. Particularly the cars with the euro bumpers.

Lots of pretty Italian cars. Hard to pick one. Back to the subject, that TWR Supercat ain't gonna make anyone's pretty list. Looks like a local garage-built dirt racer stock car from the '60's. Just knock all the windows out, and it looks ready for the 3rd Heat Race. It looks like it already has a fencepost for the front bumper.

I know that Ducati sponsors the "Ducati Experience" at Modena. There are also Grand Prix packages and touring groups. I looked into it a few years ago.

hope you can rent a Guzzi or Ducati and have a good one.

Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you try to restart? I'd suspect a relay getting hot since it's 20 minutes. One trick, move and reset the relays when restarting.

Drink a pot every morning. $20 Ham Beach. Throw in 3 scoops plus 1 hazelnut. Let her rip. 10 minutes and pour. Don't overthink morning.

I remember seeing Hendrix live on Cavett. As well as Janis, Lennon, Jefferson Airplane. His band was led by Bobby Rosengarden. The show's theme was "Candide". Cavett perhaps educated me as a young teen as much as any news, lit or humanity study I ever had. There were some nasty feuds as well, like Mailer and Vidal. I recommend Gore Vidal's US History Series (aka "Narratives of Empire"). My favorites were "Lincoln" and "Empire". Chronologically, the series begins with "Burr".

Reminds me a similar story in Tulsa OK. This was during Leon Russell's heyday. Many of the major musicians came to town like Geo Harrison. Anyway, this guy is playing solo guitar in a local bar, The Colony. He's really, really good. He finishes his set and says "Thank you, I'm Eric Clapton". Walks out.

All prosecco is cheap, why do you think the Venetians added Aperol? -

@docc Mine too. The song was inspired by Stefan Johannsen, a former Ferrari F1 driver that raced Indycars before he retired. Some of the sentiment was about the dangers of driving open wheel cars on oval tracks. A riding buddy (Suzuki Bandits) and myself took my travel trailer to the Indy 500 for the race weekend. I played the song so much, he asked me to stop. Sorta like my experience on the board here.
