EV/battery powered transportation trends

Uhhm. None of that is on the market yet, so far as I know. Lots of hype about it. -
By the time the Nova (Chevy II) was done, I think all the GM divisions except Caddy had a version. The last one was a kinda "Euro" version for the gas crisis with the stovebolt 6, hatchback and 4 speed manual overdrive. The bad boy was the '69 SS with "396" (402 CI) L-78 solid lifter 375 hp (also rated at 425 or 450 hp in '65 Corvette). My dad had a '70 Chevy II 4 door company car. That was the tightest, stiffest bodied car I'd ever sat in despite the rubber carpets. I think there were more "pro street" Novas on the road than Camaros or Mustangs. I remember a disappointed Road Runner guy getting beat by a new SS 350 on a marked off portion of May Ave. The MOPAR fans were disappointed.

Hertz is part of the problem. Tesla too for botching the support. Lots of cheap Model 3 on the market. Bad marketing for both of them which otherwise should've been a lay up. So many business "geniuses" out there. What's happened since won't even be mentioned. -
Two door hardtop Nova? With better styling

BTW, my Corvette had been in the shop since 1 Oct and the Greenie has been since March. The bearing should be received for the Greenie, simple suspension parts for my Corvette are just about impossible to find unless you call any Corvette supplier in the USA, then they're plentiful and much cheaper than any Guzzi parts........

None of us are quite right. There's no normal person and we all have likes and dislikes, obsessions and peccadillos. We all suffer from pressures and stresses. I suppose most of us see a problem when the corrupt harm innocents and obstruct the quest for truth. -

I think the guy is addled. Not just high on his own supply but perhaps too much ketamine as well. So far as free speech, without fact checks, the only things censored are facts themselves. I think it's a miss when Nazis are "in" and NPR is "out". Writing about Nazis, an interesting story about his obsession with Mars. Werner von Braun wrote a Sci Fi novel in the early '50's about colonization of Mars (wiki): After establishing verbal communication, the humans learn about the Martians' social structure and their form of government, which is run by ten men under the leadership of "the Elon". I kid you not. This is the richest and most powerful man in the world (and the smartest too). Well, good luck with that. -
In other news, my Corvette is in it's 3rd repair shop to fix the right rear corner. Hopefully insurance and the body shop will agree to fix it. They tell me it's a 4 week backlog to get started.

Well, for a Rocket Scientist, and a STEM genius, I have to wonder why he has trouble recognizing that water pressure would be an issue during the massive LA fires and that the Water Works isn't the same as water in reservoirs? Of course it takes tax dollars to build public infrastructure. Like most billionaires, I'm sure he's more than willing to pay his fair share of taxes to maintain our "industry" and prosperity. @Chuck I've seen some of those Tesla bumper stickers that you're hinting. -

The Golden Driller. Tulsa Icon. They thought they might score that big Tesla plant Musk later built east of Austin. I think Musk was just messing with them since saying Tesla is sorta like saying Tulsa. Anyway, T-town went all out for it. -
Dealerships and Repair Shops Won’t Work on Bikes over 15 Years Old 😳

Yep, it's harder and harder to find someone to work on legacy bikes. There's parts support, personnel, expertise, and tech data issues. But guess what. It's going to get much harder to get independent support for new bikes too. All this computer support it about to get too expensive, even online repair manuals, given all the makes and models and separate subscriptions. -
Yes, well I got that. That's like I wrote, "low margin" considering expenses. That's $20m after selling 12b cans of fizz and funding an F1 that's over $100m. You think that's a good deal for shareholders or maybe cutting it a little close? What would a 1% sales drop do to their margin? You think they paid dividends ?
-
Pretty low margin all things considered. 20m pounds? That's not enough to fund the F1 team for a year. I'm not even sure how many drivers and executive salary is pays. You might remember Red Bull had to pay off one it'd staffers a a million pounds for sexual harassment by the F1 team Principal Christian Horner? So it raises more questions than it answers.
-
Paul, I was thinking that both KTM and Red Bull seem fishy. So tell me, how can Red Bull own a F1 team, sponsor everything from cliff diving, aerobatics, and Moto GP to tiddlywinks and full contact chess from selling crappy soda? Coke and Pepsi together don't seem to sponsor so many boondoggles. I don't get it.

My boss gave me the book when I retired 10 years ago, still never cracked it open. So far as the Superhawk, the first modern bike. A local riding buddy and restorer has all the the 305's, Scrambler, Dream and SH. According to him, for sure the Superhawk was the best of the bunch. Built with better parts like swingarm bearings but also a convertible bike that has adjustable controls, big brakes and very much a race bike that could be ridden to the track. I think Honda learned they could build a cheaper bike and still have it's famous reliability, finish and performance. -

The bearing part numbers are easily traceable to bearing lingo (it was new to me since I never ordered "bearings"). Most of them have three dimensions and a type. If you look up the part numbers online, sooner or later you'll find the generic equivalent. If you want real grief, work with the Chevy Bodyshop "fixing" my 2008 Corvette and Farmer's Ins. They said no parts were available and are refusing to fix my car. I need the right rear quarter, i.e., knee. They couldn't locate one. The first salvage joint I found on the 'net can deliver it to my house for $260. Going to a new shop on Monday. Car was wrecked on 1 Oct.
