1. I like your bar ends Jolly
2. the tank will get longer while it's off. 2-10mm. I had my tank off a couple years ago while doing a lot of work through the winter, maybe 6 months, drained of gas, and it went back on fine, so they do move back some. I had it off this spring for one day and it lengthened about 4mm. Likely depends on regional fuels. I've used wood blocks as leverage, a big phillips to align the bolt hole, it's a pita but has to be done. The po of my parts bike welded the nut mount back further to the rear. Some use a ratchet strap, which I did last time and it worked ok. All in all I'd say my tank is not as stretched now as it once was. Weird I know, but I can tell from the distance at the seat body front mount. It used to touch there years ago.
3. some very good things down the rabbit hole. some lessons too.
4. I would drain and rinse the tank. New fuel and some injector cleaner. I usually use Seafoam. New plugs. Check all intake components for clean. Fuel filter and or pump may be fouled with crap, if so, so are the lines. Give it a chance with fresh fuel. Even free from the elements condensation over that amount of time can put a lot of water in the tank. And the filter can deteriorate.
5. heck of a deal. I run one of them. Very nicely made
6. Ya never know Chuck. Others (like me) might want an extra one for God knows what reason. I had a chat with Austin and Kip the other day at the Indy Triumph 'vintage first thursday'. Great fellows. I asked Austin if he needed a doohickey and it set his eyes rolling thanks for the kind efforts.
7. nailed it
8. I'll have a greenie Chuck, but ONLY if it's 6 or two 3's for your effort. Have you requested $ yet and I missed it?
9. you had the antithesis of my (last) weekend. good on ya
10. I can't make a fair comment as I don't run baffles and would recommend leaving them out. I take it easy around the house and the neighbors make plenty of noise so that's a wash. I'd be tempted to make the half inch hole a lot bigger since I'm playin anyway. Make sure the rest of the exhaust system has no leaks, at the head too.
11. Now you're trackin' ... I wish I were his age, riding that thing to the local vino-formaggio on Friday night in Mandello del Lario with a copy of Farwell to Arms in my pocket. Another itch, another upside
12. very nice.
13. Ha, just reading Faloon' Moto Guzzi Story and read that bit last night. What a tribute. Good book so far...
14. It's interesting how people get to where they are in life, with the activities and events they enjoy. Opportunities presented, choices made, lessons learned, then here we are. My Dad built me a mini bike when I was 13 and started my life long motorcycle infatuation. Whatever direction life took, motorcycles were there, along for the ride. Even the times I didn't possess one, one possessed me. I've often had the feeling, as Chuck expressed, the bike "disappears" from beneath me. Oddly, I'm inclined to close my eyes for as long as I can (not very) to fully experience the "flight". Airplanes. The first 5 times I left the ground in a plane, I was asked to get out. (US Army Airborne jump school) A half hour in the back of a C-119 and you're ok with the exit. A couple weeks ago the Blue Angles flew over my house at maybe 2000 ft in tight formation and hauling ass toward a belated Memorial Day flyover downtown. My arms went up and I yelled loud as I could smiling ear to ear. Two very unfortunate and very close to me incidents have kept me out of small aircraft, saving me I think, from an expensive hobby.

'03 V11's

the main thing that comes to mind re the '03's is that the first ones were '02 carryovers. '02 spec sold as '03. The head pipe balance pipe first came on the '03 spec bikes. The "mid bike" balance or crossover came on all models. 03 spec came with better paint on the drive train, semi glossy not wrinkle finish. 03 spec came with no chin pad on the tank and a fuel pump inside the tank replaced the frame mounted one.
16. hmmm a balance pipe. Isn't this added?
17. Didn't. I will have to replace it. It was determined to be the 'no charge' problem.
18. yes. There many junk parts for sale on ebay it seems. wild hope that it sells is all I can figure. if someone gave that thing to me I would pitch it out.
19. Had a great time again! The Tenni broke down on the first day. Voltage reg. Thanks to Eric and Docc and Gary and Andy and Rick for sorting me out to do the fix when she gets home. The accumulated knowledge and desire to help of these gents is priceless.
20. 2 for me!
21. Most likely docc. says "total amount needed" 0.870li -- that would make it 435ml per side. idk maybe start with 400 and then measure? who has a stat on this?
22. mine says 0.870
23. yes that riders manual says 10
24. the ground often 'suspect' seems to be at the upper right bolt at the back of the transmission. Pull the bolt and clean all surfaces. Replace with DeOxit or something equiv. Your bike's only 16 years old but as a vintage bike enthusiast I can tell you, moisture and corrosion will take a toll. I won't babble on about things I've seen but will suggest to you to start with the basics. Positively fresh and clean the fuel system (all of it), grounds and connectors refreshed, and have no doubts about your intake rubbers, including balance nipple hose or caps. If unsure about the battery have it checked out or get a new one. Many/most of us use an Odyssey pc545.
