  1. A final tweek has my v11 running very well again! New rubber and new front discs (old ones were 0.2mm under the minimum wups) will see me fully fettled for my upcoming jaunt to the lovely Scottish Isle of Skye. Can’t wait!
  2. Hey that looks rather swish- can we get a full pic?
  3. Sooo, Tim, does Sir sport a monobrow? Or does Sir wax, or strategically shave...? inquiring minds...
  4. Agreed, that rubber is toast man. Usually there’s a problem that’s not visible, but that one... This is a good time to take it all apart and clean the tb’s- the bleed screws and plates benefit from a clean, and you’ll likely recover that creamy smooth V11 surge, yeah baby!
  5. Gosh we’re spoiled rotten these days; so much great kit to be had. Me boots: Alpinestars smx-5. Not claimed w/proof, but not even rainy scotchland could broach them! Fit my plates so well. Summer gloves: Used to be pair after pair of alpinestars sp3’s, can’t get em anymore, boo hoo, but icon axys pretty good. Winter gloves: HeinGericke Pathan ‘lobster’ gloves. Toasty yet cumbersome, also not available anymore, but after crashing my last ones i found a second-hand pair on ebay for twenty quid thank you baby jesus. Me jacket: Icon basehawk. Amazing- so thin so light so murdered, yet so warm and w/proof. Great vents+pocketses. Can’t say i’ve used the hood yet and there’s no reflective bits, but i love it. -edit: Used the hood t’other day- it’s marvelous. Me hat: Roof boxer. I’ve had 4 of these- they’re ace. Full face for rain, midgies and 90mph+, open face for everything else. They’re big, and i’m slim, so i look like a lollypop. But worth it for sheer versatility. Keks: Kevlar jeans usually or Oxford w/proofers for the bad-weather times. Recent years i had got into the habit of wearing normal jeans but then a lowside illustrated how sliding 30 yards will make one reassess... Damn blind taxi driver... mutter mutter... grumble.. bitch moan....
  6. You haven’t nipped up the long allen bolt on the lever have you? It wants a wee bit o slop in it or it binds. Which is a bind.
  7. Quick query- are the front mudguards compatible between the ohlins and marzy forks?
  8. Hey that’s a good idea, it can be a right faff messing with all those cables...
  9. The New Zealand authorities have acted in an exemplary manner. A gun-crazed murderer caught alive? I doubt even England could manage that these days.

  11. Having that long allen bolt too tight will cause a surprising amount of shifty-grief
  12. There’s a 4v (8v) scura for sale at the mo in gambalunga Damn cool
  13. The ecu in my v11 is labelled bassa. Are they the same unit then?
  14. The rest of the metal on that case looks arse too- but i’m just the plasterer- is the case ok??
  15. Holy fuknuts- that’re was a conrod?
  16. Cleaned my switch yesterday, all good again! Ace. Take it apart and put it back together again. Works a surprising amount of times!
  17. I put a fendaextenda on mine cos I tend to ride all year round, the standard guard looks lovely but that poor alternator cover cops some blast indeed.
  18. Do you have a fairing fitted? I can hunker down on my un-faired v11 and do a steady ton on the motorway but I’d have thought the faired bikes would perhaps be ok at 120??
  19. Buy a tuono
  20. Less weight? ("Add lightness . . ." . . . Colin Chapman) Put that fourth helping of pie down!
  21. Well 20% more hp would give, what, about 100hp? And 20% more mileage equals somewhere over 50mpg?? (Depending on throttle abuse). I’m happy with the power output on mine. If it had more I’d be trying to wheelie it. And I don’t know how to wheelie so that could go very wrong! So maybe the roads you ride would colour your opinion... I’d have to say more mileage for me- more cash in the pocket. We seem to have a 50/50 split in opinion here almost- I didn’t expect that!
  22. It’s an odd thing- new machine releases usually focus on power output over economy. Is that cos we’re nearer the limits of engineering with fuel economy? There always seems to be a bit more hp to be squeezed out of new models. Maybe it’s just that power is sexy baby and high hp figures allow proud sausage-swingin?
  23. 20% more hp... Or 20% more mpg... (Say All else remaining as is)

Oh, i thought the original models, the griso 1100, had the 1064cc unit?
