  1. Perhaps the “owt rather’n nowt” phrase applies?
  2. I got mine at about 13k miles, now on about 35k without a problem. x
  3. That’s all very well and good PA, however, when are you going to post some videos exemplifying the sound of not only your delicious 1000i, but also your rather tasty dodge charger? hmmm? People living on other continents deserve satisfaction too y’know.
  4. And lovely + clean too
  5. Looks damn fine
  6. It’s a bit.... green
  7. Well i don’t know... i have sincerely enjoyed maintaining, and riding, my guzz. I have no idea where the hell i would take her if i couldn’t have done the work myself. There’s nowhere i know of locally that’s for sure. This forum is ace. Just bloody brilliant. You lot are utterly complicit in the continuing functioning of my motorcycle! I might have a little cry...
  8. Same potatoes mate. I think ‘jubilee clip’ might be the english way of saying hose clamp? Kinda like ‘rose joint’ is the english way of saying heim joint...
  9. Wow, cool of all flavours! Looked to be a fine show
  10. I think forum opinion is not to over-tighten the filter dave (and to mind that the old wubber filter gasket has been removed too). Some folks, me included now, secure the filter with jubilee clips to prevent it loosening off. Not sure whether a bonding agent is necessary on the sump gaskets- i’ve never used it and, although i do have a bit o oil coming out from somewhere, it’s not from the pan.
  11. Haa! Holy hell where you’ve bin for the last few days?! ...
  12. me too, sans grumble.... Cor mister! That’s pretty! And clean as a whistle!
  13. @docc ha!
  14. So.. grinding material off the arms doesn’t affect the system tolerences at all? I ask because i do not know.
  15. Ooo, fitting the round head covers would be a nice look. Thanks for all the info guys! It’s great to be made aware of all the possible options
  16. Stew, Worth getting a pair of cylinder protectors. Gutsibits do those that use all the bolts, not just those on the outer edge.Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk Yes i had, and will have, protectors fitted. The bike slid down the road about 30 feet or so and ground the protector completely away. It did it’s job very well- the road just started to bite into the rocker cover. No damage to the fins thankfully.
  17. Is it time for docc to pull his rockers to see what 100,000 good ol’ american miles has wrought??
  18. “I know we Yanks and Brits are separated by a common language, but your valve covers fall off periodically, Stew !?! “ Nope, I’m just not a very good rider perhaps! ... poor poor bike being saddled with me..
  19. Damn they’re cool. Too late as i’ve grabbed steve’s old set of shiny ones. But good to be aware of the alternatives as i seem to fall of periodically.
  20. Heh! Ee tha’s a prickly bugger! Sorry, i was reading the other post about the rocker arms wearing on our 2v machines and skipped over to read this similarly-themed thread. Whichever way you look at it, if you’ve a post 2000 guzz this seems to be an area to ‘keep a peeper on’.
  21. Well I, for one, am now curious/apprehensive re my up-coming clearance check. I think my bike’s on about 32,000 miles...
  22. There are covers available for earlier models that are much, much older than the v11
  23. Anyone know whether the v11 covers are specific to the v11?
  24. Perhaps not surprising so much as somewhat inconvenient
  25. Any. None left at guzzi, none to be found thru suppliers. Had to grab a second hand set to re-finish.
