  1. Several of us participated in the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride last year. I went to Los Angeles, but will probably do it in San Diego this year. You can sign up to be notified when registration opens at this link: http://www.gentlemansride.com/about/2016-pre-registration It's a good cause, and if you want to know more about it, try this link: http://www.gentlemansride.com/about Who else is planning to participate? Edit: the next ride will be Sunday, September 25, 2016
  2. David - I noticed you posted the same issue on WildGuzzi and have received some good suggestions there. I just thought of a quick test for you to see if the problem is with the canister. Disconnect vacuum lines at cylinder head inlets and cover balance tubes with rubber caps. Disconnect vent line from gas tank to canister - at the canister - so it functions like a passive vent tube (not connected to any engine vacuum). I think you might have to cut a single-use metal clamp to do this. If your symptoms go away, then the canister is the cause. If not, then you have to remove the tank to figure out if something is clogged. FWIW - I removed the canisters on both my bikes. I rationalized this from an environmental perspective by noting motorcycles are fully compliant with EU requirements without these canisters. I think were required only by California - so manufacturers in the US made 50-state compliant bikes, not 49-state and California-only variants. And here in CA, nobody even checks to see if the canisters are retained on the bikes.
  3. Under your tank there are two metal nipples, which may have hoses on them. One is a drain - to get water and excess gas away from the fuel door. The other is a vent, to allow air back into the tank to replace the gas as it is used. Since you heard a whoosh when you opened the fuel door, I suspect that you vent hose, or the nipple is clogged. I would first remove the vent hose and blow compressed air through it. If that fails you might need to clean the metal nipple under the tank. Some people join the two hose from the two nipples. That seems like a bad idea to me. If they are joined (from a previous owner), try separating them.
  4. I also posted about this on WildGuzzi: http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=83236.0 There's only conversation there, and I am only maintaining one list (here). Pete posted on WG that he's getting prices for a few different quantities - including some other plates that fit the Daytona engine (which might mean that Kostarika's wish will be granted).
  5. Make that 14 - and hopefully two new members from WildGuzzi. I gave them the link to the registration challenge question thread.
  6. Wow - we're potentially up to 12 so far. I inquired at MG Cycle, they have plenty of gaskets in stock now and I let them know I'd be placing an order for quite a few soon. @Pete - when you determine a price, could you also take a guess at how long production will take?
  7. I assume Pete would ship directly to Australia and New Zealand - makes no sense for the plates to cross the ocean twice. I've sent Pete a couple inquiries regarding price - will update when I hear back - or he can answer in a post. I think we can safely assume that his price will be fair. Shipping will be whatever it is... and a set of three gaskets can be had from MG Cycle for about US $15. It's convenient to install the plate at your next oil change - but also easy enough to capture and re-use whatever oil is in there now.
  8. Now there is some surprising and useful information. When I first started parting out the 02 LeMans, I had many inquiries for footpegs. A quick search on eBay for Ducati Monster Footpeg shows many promising candidates - OEM, reproduction, and all sorts of other aftermarket options for color, shape, position, etc.
  9. I think I have a slightly road-rashed clutch lever. Same deal as Czakky's - pay shipping. But maybe this a good time to try some aftermarket levers. I assume front left indicator, which is the same as the right rear. Footpegs are hard to find. Somebody ought to machine a batch of those.
  10. What country? The location in your profile "riding in the pinies" sounds like fun, but a bit difficult to locate.
  11. I have no idea if the plate fits other engines. It seems like it should, but maybe somebody knows?
  12. Group buy thread: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19423
  13. Let's see if we can get enough commitment to justify a run of authentic Roper Plates. I'd like one for my LeMans. Why would you want one? Well, maybe your V11 has oil in it... and perhaps you'd like to make sure that oil flows continuously to the bearings - even while accelerating hard uphill or doing a wheelie. Lots of more detailed info is available - just takes some searching. Pete says he'd be willing to do a run, but he doesn't want to come out-of-pocket for production and then get stuck with money on the shelves. I'd be willing to put some money up front to get a batch into the US - and then forward them to others within the US. Maybe others would be willing to do similarly in other countries so Pete can run one batch and only have to send out a few packages. We still need to get a price from Pete, which I assume will be in $AU. I think it was about US$200 including AU>US shipping for one plate about 2 years ago - but costs and exchange rates change. How to Participate: Just reply to this message if you are interested or committed. I'll keep this top post updated - and discussion can go as long as discussions go... Canada/Europe/USA Scud will import plates from Pete in Australia, order enough gaskets from MG Cycle for all plates, and forward "kits" with 1 plate, 2 upper gaskets, and 1 lower gasket. Price: US$130 for one kit shipped to USA. US$120 for each additional kit shipped to same address. Extra shipping charge outside US. 14. Does your V11 have Corrosive Irritability Syndrome? Do you experience intermittent electrical gremlins, coughs or hiccups at 3,000 RPM, bubbling engine paint, failed gauges, sporadic oil or charge warning lights, or fading of exhaust canisters or other painted parts? Then ask your Docc if your heart is healthy enough for V11LeMans.com. Consult your Docc immediately if you experience any of the following: Excessive rationalization or justification regarding above problems Unjustifiable beliefs that the problem will take care of itself Obsessive fixation on photographs of OPV (Other People's V11) Hyperawareness of model-year differences Uncontrollable urge to purchase additional V11 Uncertainty regarding tires or oil

  16. 4 new entries in 2 months! Welcome all. @Bulkbiker: Is your Scura registered as a 2003? I thought they were all 2002s. Noticed that you have a BMW K-bike. Me too. There seem to be a fair number of Guzzisti who appreciate the old bricks. I predict the Scura will quickly become your favorite bike.
  17. Phil - is the Ducati Energia the regulator that your wrote about and recommended a while back?
  18. Talk to MartyNZ. Now I need another kit for my LeMans. Turn signals - I found some nice looking, inexpensive ones on Amazon. Have been happy with them on my LeMans, just was waiting for an excuse to install a pair on the Scura... which I found today. The connectors are similar style, but smaller than OEM, so I squished the stock connectors with a crimper. Here's a link to the signals. http://www.amazon.com/Astra-Depot-Motorcycle-Indicator-Standard/dp/B005IV0PVA?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
  19. Wow, at least there wasn't a fire. I can't offer any advice about removing that part, but while you're collecting parts, you should consider a new seal around that shaft. Maybe consider a new voltage regulator too.
  20. If you plug in your front incandescent bulb turn signals, will it work correctly?
  21. I remember some discussion, but if you look at the "best answer" that appears in the link I put in post 7 of this thread, you'll see that Camn described the problem, but concluded that the push rods for both single and twin had the same part number. At some point, I'm going to pull the single out of my Scura and it seems likely that I will replace with the twin-plate from my parts bike. At a minimum, I will be sure to compare the two push rods.
  22. I installed MartyNZ's LED taillight kit, along with a pair of LED turn signals I've been "storing" for a while. FYI - if you put LED indicators in back, but leave incandescent indicators up front, they will work with the stock flasher. Before: Step one, coffee, unpack the kit, and review Marty's instructions: The clever, and practically invisible mounting of the side running lights and "bonus" tail and brake lights: And yes, I painted the non-reflective portions of the chrome light base black. After: Lit up - far brighter than stock - even with the newly tinted lens. @Marty - this is great kit. Everything included and not difficult to install. I did not need to get anything extra to install it - and it worked the first time. I think the song for this project is "Seen and Not Seen" by Talking Heads - just for the title. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rvjw5xJF8WQ
  23. Coincidentally, my Veglia speedo needle has just started the St. Vitus Dance - turned over 9,000 miles today. Somehow, associating my Scura with Black Sabbath seems appropriate. Please enjoy Vol 4, featuring the song St. Vitus Dance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxtQXZCvRtk
  24. OK - so it looks you are all set. I think that, from the factory, the line that's stamped into the face of the splined shaft is supposed to line up with the gap in the cast arm.
