  1. Finished with the paint treatment, Car Pro. Put the tank on and wanted to hear her running. No fuel pump, WHAT. Usual round, direct juice to the pump= working, but no juice in the connector, ended up with, no juice in fuse 2. 2 red feeding wires underneath, have juice. All 4 male connectors underneath are actually move able? So thought bad conection. Probably possible to take apart with some dynamite. Suddenly a miracle in top floor, SIDESTAND. Back together and runs Very good. Ha ha [emoji23] Cheers Tom. Sent fra min SM-S906B via Tapatalk

  2. I meant side stand down and in neutral docc> I tend to sit on the bike and start it with the stand up but I'm sure like every other bike I've owned it will start and idle on the side stand in neutral. This is the case isn't it? Phil

  3. So the sidestand wasn't on the bike, or what? PS: you really do need to clean those bikes.

  4. @fastaussie I can do that, but they will have a bike attached to them.

  6. righteous @gstallons? @audiomick, the original NSX smashed the Supercar order in its day. faster around the track than anything else. Dodge Vipers, any Ferrari or Lamborghini, and the Corvette ZR1. even though the ZR1 made an additional 130 horsepower and heaps more torque. as i'm sure you know, a certain Ayrton Senna helped develop and fine tune the chassis...

  7. They seem to specialize in hard acts to follow- the drummer is even more impressive here, I think- Mom and Dad are in. Their ABBA cover is pretty amazing too, absent male voices.

  8. Thanks for that photo @Lucky Phil, as that now disabuses me of the notion that the Scura piece is lower than the OEM pad on my greenie... As @docc rightfully guessed, I am looking to achieve a "level playing field" with the top of the fuel tank. Less for aesthetics than to accommodate a small tank-ring-mounted tank bag. The thickness of the OEM pad gets in the way. Also @docc, regarding the GB500, that little brat is a ton of fun! (as you well know!)

  9. Just to to complete the confusion, today she fired right up with the sidestand down like Phil said. Hmmm, will see. Cheers Tom. Sent fra min SM-S906B via Tapatalk

  10. Sarcasm is fine, just a sarcasm from my side, THANKS . Cheers Tom.

  11. OK @Tomchri, maybe my sarcasm doesn't go over big up North. My apologies. Very nice lineup of bikes there! And one that looks like mine!

  12. That strikes me as being a bit odd. Mine (2002 Le Mans, which I believe should have the same wiring as a Coppa Italia) will start with the side-stand down, but the motor stops when it is put in gear with the side-stand down. However, it is too late at night for me to be able to understand the wiring diagram to that depth. Maybe I'll find time to have a closer look in the next couple of days. Or maybe not.The next few days at work promise to be fairly full. It is indeed the brain thing.

  13. Trying for that slick tank look of "something else" in the collection?

  14. I'm not sure I knew that, it is a long time ago. But as I mentioned further up, the NSX came out during the period when Honda engines where dominating Formula one, and Mr Senna, may he rest in peace, was a major factor in that.

  17. I've never been a fan of these tank bag solutions on a plastic fuel tank. Of the six screw positions on the std tank cap only three hold the cap assy to the plastic tank via 5mm bolts. You are relying on 5mm bolts threaded into inserts moulded into plastic. In a perfect world it's probably going to be ok but I wouldn't be comfortable with it myself unless it was a very modest and low tank bag without any real weight in it. Phil

  18. This thread covers some solutions tried by others. In particular, this tank ring option from Hepco & Becker mounts to the tank ring while accommodating the height of the chin pad. Perhaps not the most elegant solution, but at least its an option...

  19. Good point. Though when staying submerged even in most tropical waters, the energy gets sapped fast to where i can get cold. But that’s where scuba diving, where slow and easy movements are name of the game, whereas with no weight belt with snuba I’ll bet the extra work to control buoyancy would keep the blood pumping more, and be warmer.

  20. Remember good old Archimedes? If you displace a large volume of water, which unfortunately is the case for some of us , combined with sea water buoyancy, a few weights may help you to stay down where you want to be... I remember my dives in the red sea, where the water is extremely warm and salty, it was always a pain to stay level at shallow depths. I had to keep my lungs as empty as possible to avoid surfacing... the problem is less accute when you start getting down. I did a lot of snorkelling in Egypt, because you really did not need to go down to be in exctasy with the beauty and the fishes literally eating from your hand. I wish I had the Airbuddy system then..

  21. Yes, at least mine does. Dies when you put it in gear to ride off, and have forgotten the side stand. Been there, done that... I think @docc is probably on the right track with the neutral switch / sidestand relay.

  22. Bike resting on the sidestand. Sidestand up = feeding juice to fuse #2. It's the brain thing . Cheers Tom.

  23. @docc that would be quite pretty if it had a sensible motor sticking out from under the tank.

  24. Well you can forget about the Scura one if you want lower or even equal height to the original V11 rubber pad. I have a Scura one on my bike and it's at least the same height as the original and maybe even a little taller.

  27. No, I couldn't work out which one it was. Changing the t-shirt fooled me completely. I will refrain from comparisons to Jon Lord, because that would be silly. I had the great fortune to encounter him on a couple of jobs. Polite, friendly, a real gentleman. Musically: the second time was one of those "rock meets classic" things. The orchestra was a combination of a semi-professional orchestra and students from a commercial "music academy". The finale was a Deep Purple melody, of course. They rehearsed it once without the man, and it was all correct. Then he came on stage. First thing was, the organ sounded different (better) when he played it than when the organ-hire bloke played it after he set it up. How does that work? A Hammond organ is a machine. You push a button, and a noise comes out. And on top of that, the rehearsal without was, as I said, correct. With him playing along, all of a sudden it also grooved. One man pulled an entire orchestra into the groove. Not bad, I reckon... So it would be silly to draw comparisons between a teenage girl and someone like that. The same applies to the guitarist that played the solos. She has potential, but needs a few years. Ritchie Blackmore was an experienced and creative guitarist when that song was produced. No comparison, so no comment.

  28. You may have noticed the bass player is also the keyboard player...

  29. The little dude is tireless and shows some real soul in his playing. Best for all of them that he keeps his time locked with the bass. I've played with some drummers that wouldn't lock-on. After a while, everyone just packs up and goes home. In all honesty, though, our bass player is just not that cute.

  30. Yes, he is very good. And not just bashing away, he is focussed on the bass player, and she is doing a pretty flash job of it too, I reckon. What say you @docc

  31. I know that YT is full of these talented kids, one better than the next. I relate to that, because I tried to teach guitar to my son when he was 5 years old, and I could never get him interested, even if he did pretty well, as I was trying to get him to like it. I was in awe watching the little guy playing the drums in that humpteenth cover of the Deep Purple highway star...
