  2. My Tenni has been back with me a week and running smoothly after its sojourn in Bungendore. Can’t praise Michael of Moto Moda enough. With help from Pete Roper they replaced my cracked (oem) aluminium flywheel and clutch with a RAM assembly. Just in time apparently with the 24 year old flywheel cracked to billy-Oh! For the non Aussies this basically means it was f…ed according to Mr Roper! While apart Michael attended to a few leaks, valves, replaced the shift spring as a preventative and then gave the bike a tune. Moto Moda is a pleasant 3 hours South West of Sydney so definitely consider these guys to keep these ageing bikes in fine fettle.

  6. Reconditioning's out of the equation docc I tried that already and it didn't work. The contact surfaces just become tarnished is what happens to them. I think I did a post on my messing with one. Maybe in my Daytona V11 build. If we cannot find a compatible part cheaper I could buy multiple as a group buy and post them to the US to save on postage and you could be the US supplier to the forum, or something. Phil

  7. I figured I would find out how much shipping that engine would be to Oregon. Almost 1k. Not worth it to me. If I lived closer I would be there with my truck. I have been trying to call Piaggio in NY, but no one ever picks up. Can't leave a message because mailbox is full. I wanted them to run the number on the engine to get the skinny on it. No matter now. I just have to keep my eye out for another $1500 greenie.

  10. docc , you know this was not made for MG but they outsourced it . Some source like an import psrts warehouse should be able to fix us up.

  11. I have cleaned them and gotten "active" with them by pushing the plunger all the way down and releasing it a few times and spraying contact cleaner. It takes a minute but it always works.

  13. Thanks, Bill, for the travelogue and unparalleled narration we've all come to enjoy. Was the initial firestorm planned or was a little too much boy scout fuel used?? The only thing I saw missing was Lannis, hope he's okay I miss his spirited discussions over at WG, but that's a whole different story. Paul B

  14. Try adjustment docc with a thinner crush washer first. The contact is internal and can't be accessed without switch disassembly and you ruin the potted switch assembly dissecting it and trying to JBweld it back together. Phil

  15. Access to the interwebs with no adult supervision. Fixed it. Thanks for the, er, adult supervision . . .

  16. I went to Wieringerwerf op Wielen today with my brother, and I wasn't the only V11 rider there! It was a good time, but there were mostly harley and adv riders. Some very nice classic cars though.

  18. A little solo time early this am - 120 miles of backroads before a breakfast burrito stop in Campo. Happy Fathers day to all the dads here. Pizza night tonight with my oldest daughter. Mexico and Italy have the same colors on their flags, and they have the best food groups. Coincidence? I think not. Red, White, and Green. Tomato, Mozzarella, and Basil. Or Red Salsa, Sour Cream, and Green Chili.

  20. I know turning 137,000 miles doesn't seem like much to celebrate. But I'm celebrating, anyway. ( I intended this to be my 20,000th post, but I used that to reference fixing a broken link that @mikev had pointed out. As it should be, I reckon! )
