  1. Along with that, it has front and rear collision warning. The front warning illuminated several times, and each time it did i thought "OK, I actually am following too close." So it caused me to rethink, and to follow at a safer distance. Surprisingly, the front collision warning does not go off while lane-splitting. The rear warning has not yet activated. And all that stuff (front and rear radar) is needed for the adaptive cruise control, which I have not tried yet.

  2. What series / year is this ? The hood lamps attach to the hood different from any I can remember and the front wheels and tires , I don't remember ever seeing this set-up before . My 1st cousin has between 35-40 of these things around his house and big yard. He can spew production #s , every change ever made to these , specs , you name it. He should have been a tour guide to a ford tractor museum.

  4. Hi, the battery compartmentent is indeed rather small. That said, I just put two small crodile clamps on the poles to re-charge when necessary. EDIT: + clamp being isolated

  7. Actual tractors, not Guzzi motorcycles I don't have one to show but I'm looking to buy, plus I just like older tractors. I don't intend to buy one more than a few years old and will likely buy new, as it seems used is hard to find. Looking for recommendations and perspective. I recall @Bill Hagan possibly drooling over a Kubota awhile back and am curious what you ended up with? We recently moved to some small acreage and I'll be spending the rest of my life grooming it. Irony wins as our property is in the middle of the area I always loved to ride, and I'm faced with the phrase one often sees in 'bikes for sale' ads. ... "no time to ride" Long gravel drive and parking, landscaping, snow, swale maintenance and improvement, and a bush hog are my needs. Got to have a front loader. I don't need a belly mower as I have a great zero turn. Looking to see what you have, have had, or want. Even just what you think is a beauty, just for the sake of a tractor. I do love the old Fords. If I ever run out of things to do I just might get one as a project. @docc I didn't intend to put this in personal ads for sale, but I guess it's a good a place as any?? [docc edit: "moved" . . .]

  8. Does anyone have any hacks for getting to the battery terminals to charge, or jump, or anything more than putting a meter on it, without pulling the battery which is a Royal Pain !! Maybe someone can share a picture of their battery compartment with the battery in? I've only replaced the battery once, and replaced with what was there, but there is ZERO room and I'm wondering if maybe the wrong "style" battery is in bike and as I bought it new, I just never knew. I mean seriously, it takes a bit of clever acrobatics and three hands to even take the battery out because you have to lift and hold it, to get to the terminals. I've rarely had an issue, but I thought while I need to do some trouble-shooting of the start issue, maybe a better make sure I have the right style battery in there while I'm taking it out anyway. Thanks in advance.

  9. I just googled Ford 9N. The front tires are too large to my memory. As old as this line is and as many as there were made, I imagine oem is rare. Seems like ten percent of the yards I pass around here has one in it.

  11. @Flooky Curious, did the new Regulator include a direct positive wire to the battery? I had exactly your issue, turned out it was nothing that needed replacing best I can tell; although I did replace everything! Once I ran the direct wire, all seemed fixed, no more blown or melting fuse.

  12. @Desdinova, Here is an image of the battery/underseat with some modifications. There are "junction blocks" added behind each of the battery terminals to reduce the of ring terminals and add accessories. Others ( @Tomchri) have added "L"-shaped brackets to the battery terminals to bring the terminal stack paralell to the top of the battery and more accessible. Also, the battery basket, in the factory location, stands the front of the battery quite high beneath the seat making the terminals even harder to access and allowing the seat to put pressure on the battery under the rider's weight: Moving the front mounts of the battery basket beneath the subframe addresses this. Below, relocated battery basket in the foreground, prominent front corner of the factory position visible on the Rosso Mandello in the background: P.S. - Another image with the battery basket in the factory position (front mounting tabs above the subrame) showing seat damage to the battery hold-down strap: Detailed view of the mounting tabs below the subframe:

  13. Here's a little follow up on the Tedeschi Trucks show in Tulsa. Tulsa is an historic music town and great riding destination. It's home to the Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie Centers. Also home to The Church Studio established by Leon Russell in the '70's. Tulsa and the studio had lots rock stars at the time, Leon, JJ Cale, Geo Harrison, Clapton, Dylan, Mudcrutch (Tom Petty), The GAP Band, Bread, The Tractors, Teagarden & Vanwinkle. We took the tour of the Church, still a working studio, museum and small concert venue. We were told that Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks were there the day before. We saw The Greyhounds (a duo out of Austin) in the board room. They'd performed the encore the night before with Susan and Derrick.
