  1. No I am not sure the pads didn't bind..like I said they seemed ok when I pulled away..and for the previous 2 weeks I had had the bike on the lift with the the rear wheel able to spin free and it seemed to spin normally...the rotor was perfect before..like new....now its coated in aluminum and brake pad material and looks like it got hotter than hell..so something caused the pads to lock onto it and drag ...just not hard enough for me to feel it while doing 70-80 mph on the highway for an hour or so ..so either the pads jammed and overheated the seals which then blew..or the seals blew and let the pads drag..not sure which caused which.
  2. No I havn't done anything to the master since I've owned the bike and I rode it the other day and it seemed fine..I put new tires on recently and slid in a new set of Ferodo pads..something I've done a million times without issues..so I was quite surprised ..I tested the front and rear brakes while leaving the house like I always do..they seemed ok at that time. I looked at the master as soon as I got it home and on the lift..it seems normal...I will test it out thoroughly after replacing the damaged parts though.
  3. I went for a ride today on my 03 Rosso Corsa..I guess while on the highway the rear caliper seals blew ( the bike had been sitting 5 years)..and so it looks like it froze the pads against the rotor..then over heated melted and fried the whole mess..blew brake fluid all over the tire..caliper is un saveable..Rotor is complete toast as well...I did't realize what was happening until I got off the Highway and went to stop and had no rear brake pedal....it could have been worse I guess. I want the rotor like mine with the Gold center so if you don't have one like that or if you don't want to part with yours thats ok..I'll just order a new one..they are'nt super pricey.
  4. edit: Got it Handled thanks everyone..! Anyone have a good rear Brembo caliper for the V-11's they want to sell? Rear Rotor for the same as well if its nice. Thanks!! kindoy

    TLM Guzzi

Saw that on FaceBook last night..I appreciate all the hard work that went into this..the paint idea and workmanship looks awesome too....sometimes things dont have to be practical to still be awesome imo.
  8. You use the Good stuff huh?..does it make it weave around when you fill it up?
  9. Thanks tom...I assume I have to remove that inner panel behind the gauges to get after a couple of those "Few Bolts"?
  10. I searched around some but couldn't find a thred... What is the easiest way to get at the headlight on the Le Mans..( specifically my 03 Rosso Corsa)....Do I have to pull the whole front fairing or? And..Is there a way to pull the whole fairing pretty much in one unit? Or does it have to come off section by section?
  11. He hasn't owned it for years and an article I read said he has had so many Moto Guzzi's he can't begin to remember them all..Moto Guzzi gives/or gave (not sure about today) him a new model every time they come out and he is /was their promotional man. Hope it makes someone Happy Though!!!
  12. Doesn't it still move the peg outboard about an inch on the brake lever side?

    IMGZEIT

I use them alot for my online photos...great site!
  14. "Live with the stock pegs, which really aren't THAT bad honestly. It's no R1 " My sentiments exactly...:-)
  15. The problem for me with these different lowered pegs is that is places your feet outboard about an inch more. With the oem pegs your boot is partially on the mount bracket with the lowered ones it is not..so you have to kind of turn the front of your foot inward to really get it under the shifter rubber otherwise I felt like just my big toe is doing the shifting..At least that is my experience..I didn't like it...Maybe others have a different opinion.
  16. Is it me? 10k miles seems rather early to have changed the Cam chain..
  17. Mike is a good guy and oNe is a good group..I watched all his Videos for years while building my Commando's..!!
  18. I've known Elvin since 1967 I was a teenager when he first came to S.F. by way of Chicago where he went from High School in Tulsa Where he won a National Merit Scholarship to The University of Chicago and played with Paul Butterfield and Mike Bloomfield. One of My High School Chums from back there was his manager for many years, so I don't think I ever missed a gig where he played in the Bay area and a couple others I knew from High School were in various blues bands with him around SF, He lived up in Marin and still does in the same house.. I went to a couple fish fry party's at his house back in the 70's and did some lake fishing in Marin where he was along on and a few other guys and friends who worked with his bands. Never into drugs even in the 60's when everyone in music seemed to be, he always just liked to have a couple beers and share a good laugh's and a stories. He still plays the little clubs around SF when he is in town, I last talked to him last year...One of a kind for sure...This new song really shows his sense of humor....amazing he still has one after what happened to his wife and daughter a few years ago..if anyone has a right to play the blues its him.
  19. Beautiful bike..what exhaust is that?
  20. Thanks again docc..I loosened everything up but between the front balance tube connecting the header pipes together, and he Stucchi crossover connecting everything else together underneath, , their isn't much room for "give"..anyway..I loosened everything, I had to squirt a little "Breakfree" on some connections, then took my plastic mallet and tapped and moved everything around as much as it would budge until it seemed like there was the least stress...hard to tell if I accomplished anything but it seemed the muffler I moved from the outside mounting to the inside moved its angle just a little so the mounting tab is a little inboard and the there isn't so much torque on the 2 mounting bolts which go into the can. I Ran it until it was hot..I couldn't detect and leaks..so WE WILL SEE..I have barely ridden this RC as I was waiting for new rubber since I bought it , the old tires looked like new but the date on them told me 13 years old!!, The bike has been sitting the last 5 years so I wasn't willing to roll the dice on that rubber. Comparing it to my Greenie and my Rosso Mandello it does seem to shake a bit more when Cold and Slow idling but that may be just because I'm not used to having that big Le Mans fairing up there with the mirrors on it moving around..it revs smooth and crisp...further riding and a basic tune up should tell the tale!
