  1. Where did you pull the power for the grips from?
  2. Now I feel inadequate... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Because you can forget to turn off the grips and have a dead battery? These grips are nice because they remember your last setting when you turn off the bike. I didn't add the ground to the regulator this time. But now I know what it takes to pull the tank and will do it next time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Four. Two to get off the inner fender. One to get the light off and a screwdriver to get the lens off. While you don't have to remove the light it makes it a lot easier. Bike is already all back together so no deep cleaning. It wasn't too dirty. Side note: If you turn on the key before remembering to hook up the pressure regulator... it makes a puddle on the floor... 5. Heated grips recs? https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=59262&share_tid=19332&share_pid=220191&url=http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19332-Heated-grips-recs%3F/page__view__findpost__p__220191&share_type=t I pulled the bodywork last night to run the wiring. Good chance to see what it looks under there. A full tank of fuel is heavy! Air filter looked new. Not sure how old the fuel filter is. Replaced the license plate light with an LED. Funny that I had just the right bulb. Put it in backwards the first time and blew #6 fuse. You can tell there weren't an German engineers working at Guzzi by how many things I had to take off just to get to this bulb! And every nut and screw was a different size! I still don't know where to pull auxiliary power from but the wires are back to the trunk now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. So I got a little carried away last night. Pulled all the bodywork and ran the charging cable and heated grip wiring from the front to the back... Still don't know where to pull the power for the grips but it's hopefully from the tail! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I shaved down the light ridges on the throttle tube. The throttle side needed some light encouragement. But it also won't slip. The clutch side was a little lose. I put some silicone but it doesn't seem to be holding yet. All the wiring is ran but I still don't know where to tap the power from. I need a keyed source and only 5 amps, the grips pull 4 amps max. It's not uncommon to pull from a brake light line or something like that. Plus with the LED brake light now there's very little load on that circuit. Thoughts? Where have people pulled auxiliary power from? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Well, you can see the CO Fuel Trim existing setting when cold, but cannot change it until the motor is at operating temperature. Correct. It's like you've done this before! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. So for my birthday I got the grips. It's like she reads my mind! I'm thinking the controller will go right here. Unlike the old ones you want to be able to clearly see it if you want to view the voltage. These grips seem to put up more of a fight than other bikes. Let's see how they respond to some compressed air. Then it's just a matter of wiring it up. Positive to a keyed source and ground for the other wire. Run wires and zip tie. More later. 10. Which is why the older single plate bike don't rattle with clutch lever is in. No second plate to rattle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Has no one designed a flywheel that will work with the single plate clutch?

    Remap

I don't think it's the fueling you're feeling at 5k, it's probably the cam. Once mine gets to 5k it's time to hold on!
  13. What is wrong with the clutch? Just a worn disk or major damage?
  14. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19865&p=220092 The Ducati pegs should be here by next weekend. I do want a good stock peg, as I'm trying to keep an original set of parts. I for sure need a new left rear turn signal. A couple guys said they might have extras.
  15. Yes. Only when low.
  16. I did this on my Triumph too. And the 850-T. Red instrument lights. I like the red at night as it's less distracting yes still very visible. Before. Testing the fit. When I replaced the lights on my 850-T the LEDs were too big. These fit perfectly. When I turned on the ignition... nothing. I tried several bulbs. Cheap eBay crap. Oh, wait, maybe these ground through the bulb holder... Success! Before AND after. After. If anyone wants to try these let me know. PM me your address and I'll send you a pair. It's only a couple bucks for a bag of them so if you want to fit your stable (ahem, Scud...) here's the eBay link. They ship out of CA. https://www.ebay.com/itm/252512833007 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. There were what looking like water marks or something on the screen. Along with some very light scratching. I hit it with some plastic polish and it looks almost new! So much better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The plastic cruise controls will break. When they do you'll get the aluminum ones.
  19. I assume it's reading it at the ECU which I don't think it directly connected to the battery.
  20. More pictures of the Commando behind your bike! And a close up of your fairing when you get a chance.
  21. As mentioned I got it from one of the forum members. It's got a scratch on the left side and the screen needs a good polishing but I'm happy!
  22. Plus the seat doesn't line up with the tank.
  23. First ride with fairing. It seemed noisier. It might be because I'm going faster with the fairing. There is definitely a huge reduction of wind on my chest. Once I got some ear plugs in there was a lot less noise that what I recalled from when the fairing wasn't on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Went to the dealer today and got a new lens. $2. Parts guy couldn't believe the price either. That took care of the busted front lens. A zip tie took care of the rear turn signal although I really need new ones front and rear but at least it's rideable. So far I'm out $2. I also picked up a new shirt. Need to bulk up on my Guzzi shirts. The closet is mostly Norton and Triumph. And then lunch with the wee lad. [emoji41] And then a ride to celebrate. Phew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I've never tried it, but I'll bet you could rig up some sort of hillbilly thing with air pressure and a gauge to see where it blows off? There's gotta be *some* reason for 2 pumps going tits up. I did this to set the pressure on the aero engine pressure relief valve.. Thanks Chuck - It occurred to me to try the Champagne tank on the Greenie, since I also wanted to see if the manual petcock (Greenie has electric) cures the Greenie's fuel starvation issue. I'm playing Dr. Frankenstien today... I can't wait to get my bodywork off and give it a good clean. Going to wait until I have all the paperwork in order.
