You really have the Sport looking great, @motoguzzikc!

Here is a link to a Tekno thread that shows the internal support plate, as well as my outcome using a professional fabric restoration product: SEM Color Coat Flexible Coating Landau Black Interior Paint  . . .

Thanks @docc I'll take a look. Surprisingly the plastics on the bags are in pretty good shape still

Looks like she might be a bit rowdy with those pipes....?

They sound amazing. Loud as hell Dad said he found this full Bub set that was originally for a Sport 1100i but they also fit the v11. My parents lived in a rural area so it was no big deal for him, I live right in the middle of an urban area and the only one in my neighborhood who rides so I don't really take the v11 out for early morning rides lol. When on the highway out of town they are great. Take the bike north of 5k and it sounds like a vintage race bike.

  3. When I inherited my dad's V11 last year I always planned on getting rid of these old , purple faded Tekno bags. With them being all worn out I thought it made the bike look bad. Then I realized that these things are rarer than hens teeth! I looked at a few older posts on here but didn't see anything that wowed me. After searching around I found a post on a Harley forum recommending Kiwiw Scuff Cover for black leather shoes to use on faded synthetic bags. At $5 a bottle I figured it was worth a try. What a HUGR difference using this as well as some zipper lube has made on these bags. They don't look brand new, but they look like the rest of the bike - pretty good for it's age! Pics from what they looked like when faded, one coat of the scuff remover on the bags, and then finally 3 coats with the bags on the bike

  4. @po18guy just wanted to come back and say that it would appear this was a connections issues all along. I had to put this little project on hold for a couple of weeks due to life getting in the way. Today I pulled the bike out and took another look. One of the leads was very loose in its fitting, I pulled them all apart and cleaned and dried them off. After the bike was all back together the voltage being returned to the battery is looking good and a short test ride resulted in the bike running better than it has in months. Looks like I'm back on the road .

  5. @GuzziMotothanks for the post ok the allotted volts for the battery. This helps out my mind at ease.

I see a lot of posts on here about the guzzidiag tool, can anyone link the most useful?  I want to know where to download and what hardware I will need. During my boring day job I'm a Software QA so I feel more then confident working with the tool as opposed to my extreme basic understanding of power flow on this bike lol. Thanks in advance for any help

  6. Sounds good to me the.  I was under the impression that 14.6v was too high. The battery is only a few weeks old with less than 100 miles on it. I'll take the win and just ride then. I really appreciate all the help on this!

  7. Thanks for the link @LaGrasta

@doccjust got back from a half hour test ride. No issue with tach , however at idle it's at 12.6 and at 3k rpm after the ride I am showing in 14.6 v which brings me back to my original assumption of bad reg/rec and that it should be replaced. Any thoughts?

    Tach totally stable?

Rev it up a bit and the voltage comes up?

Yep check and check. However I will will say that the tach would only do that cycling issue when the bike was going down the road. Not at idle. Tomorrow I'll take the bike out and make sure the tach is better.

  9. @docc and everyone else that helped out on this , just wanted to say thanks! My new correct relays came in today and after swapping them out I'm seeing 13.3-13.4v at about 2500 rpm. I won't have a chance to take it for a test ride until tomorrow but can I operate under the assumption for now that with it putting out over 13v while running that the system is charging as it should? I have put 5 extra relays in the tool bag just to be safe.

    These are 24volts relays - diode protected . . . .

The ones to get for our V11s from Picker Components >> PC782-1C-12S-R-X

    https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/picker-components/pc782-1c-12s-r-x/12352866

@docc I was wrong in saying that. I believe the relays that were just delivered are all 24v  wlWhen comparing my original order from digikey that I bought last month and the order that showed up today they are not the same relay

The first set of relays I was sent 12VDC1.2R

But the new relays are marked as 2VDC1.2R

    Much cheaper solution indeed...

I am a sucker for trying to keep everything original.

I understand and definitely appreciate this mindset. I remember when he replaced it and he was satisfied with how it worked but I don't think was ever nuts about how it looked. I just can't drop $600+ on a used Veglia right now. I have had 3 go bad in one way or the other on my Stone over the last 20 years so I am a bit hesitant to invest the money on a tach that might kind of work but will look good. This is my only bike with an analog tach. My Stone is just a speedo and my BMW has a digital screen. Seeing a digital bar raise and lower isn't nearly as fun as watching that tach needle rise and fall !
