  1. it sounds rich if they can smell you..
  2. The flush sounds straight forward enough. Can anyone else comment as to the choice of solvent and effectiveness? Are there any side effects of note?... will it leach into the tranny or sump? I would feel more comfortable walking off the cliff if I were part of a group. no
  3. If it has 22k the shift spring is probably non issue.. I have 22k too and never did the spring but I carry one under the seat w/a tire patch kit. knock on wood.
  4. plug the drip hole at the bottom of bell housing then pour a bunch of Mineral spirits into the timing inspection hole.. run bike and work clutch in and out. drain and hope that cleaned it off.
  5. as JRT said, the regulator is a box under the front of the tank between the horns.. you can run a wire from a mounting bolt to an engine bolt, this will give a good ground. maybe someone nearby could help you set the TPS and sync throttle bodies. if you go to wildguzzi.com there might be someone on there who lives near you?
  6. A V7 beats a V11? and Griso's and a 996? I gotta see that to believe it..
  7. Um, that's not the regulator- that's the ECU. You really should bolt it back down on rubber mounts. Yes, although it is kind of a PITA to get there. I ran a ground wire to a relay from the reservoir mount. You will need to remove the paint, so you get a good contact. You could also just obtain a longer piece of wire, a couple of crimp-on fittings and attach the ground to the battery. Darn, that's why I mentioned what I thought it looked like....so let me see if I have this right. The regulator is actually the thing located between the horns. So what is the ground wire that comes up under the ecu and attaches to one of the ECU mounting bolts. Umm, put down the screw driver grasshopper.. take deep breath.. what exactly are you trying to do?
  8. the cap threads off, does it have a hex hole in the top? the triple clamp must be loose to take up the looseness at the steering neck.
  9. I had that stumble around 3k, put on a Mistral crossover and it pretty much went away. Or, it could be the TPS setting.
  10. Nice and concise! I'm copying this just so I'm sure to do it by the book, GS, do you do rally's? have we met?
  11. I double checked everything when I set the TPS to 150mV, right idle screw was completely backed off as well the fast idle cam (and connection rod disconnected). I'm thinking either something inside is holding the throttle open or it's breathing air through an airleak (but vacuum balance is fine). you did back out the other (left) stop screw? there is a stop screw on both TB's and they both need to be backed out or the tie rod will keep tb open from the left stop screw.
  12. I'm almost ready to buy those..from MGcycle. These are "Agostinis" from Funnily enough Agostinis in Italy. They sound better than the Mistrals I had on it (like a bevel ducati but softer, without the edgy crack) Ciao can I get them in the States and how much $ ?
  13. I'm almost ready to buy those..from MGcycle.
  14. could your tank be swollen from ethanol?
  15. did you hose clamp the filter? do a search..
  16. the factory did not put any kind of device like that on.. you could just have a bad relay.. by the way the v11 tenni is not a 2004. got pics?
  17. nice and concise.. well said!
  18. sorry to hear that edge isn't here any more, I have those guards in place of the wheel hugger, like the look a lot..
  19. you should now take the sump off and put a hose clamp on a new oil filter.. and add a Roper plate if you don't yet have one.
  20. Both side seem to be against the stops equally. So should I turn them both in, say an 1/8th of a turn at a time until I get the desired speed when warm? no, back out the right screw, if idle is too low then turn the left TB screw in to raise idle. If you have a sync tool you can use the air by-pass screws.. if you mess with them with out a twinmax or vacuum gauge you'll get out of balance/sync (at idle).
  21. Lucky you! watch for me in your area, I ride my Lemans a lot in Wisconsin.. plus we go to Danbury where we visit a cabin.. and that color is lushious! do you want to join up with the twin cities Guzzi riders? we meet 3rd sat of every month.. and you should come to our rally AND GO THE THE WISCONSIN RALLY down by Mineral Point. I used to drink .15 cent tap beer in NR back in the day when we 18yo's had to drive into Wi to be of age to drink.. then we drove home!
  22. if only one side idle stop screw is touching, you can turn that screw in a bit to raise the idle..,Do not turn the white knob on the long threaded rod (left side),that controls the butterflies and will get you out of sync.. this knob is used to balance the butterflies above idle, with a vacuum tool..
  23. mine weeps oil around the timing cover (I think) I retorqed the heads thinking it might be the base gasket but no joy.. it's just a little weep and the level never goes down so I just ride it.
