  2. entering a Geico contest w/my latest video..
  3. I don't know the particulars but a few (RM and Scurra) came w/a single plate clutch and don't seem to last as long and the old standby dual plate clutch. I love mine for touring w/HB bags its a pleasure but I ussually leave the top box off, it's like a sail.
  4. need an alternative? these seats look really nice, http://billmayersaddles.com/BMS/Home.html
  5. here's what I think I know from many miles towing behind Tonti frame bikes. 1) best to keep the mount at or below axle height. 2) A long tongue keeps rig from swaying.
  6. the VDST can make one setting change and that is the idle trim, it's a rich / lean adjustment for idle. If you have a sync tool like a Twinmax you should hook that up and try raising your idle w/the air bleed screws while keeping the two TB's balanced. have you searched here for throttle body sync/balance and TPS set up? if you do you'll find more than you need to do it all yourself. Oh yea, a good battery is very important to have w/these bikes.
  7. I met these fellows from Norway on the way to Sturgis last summer.. they shipped their choppers to Houston and rode from there.. did a tranny rebuild right in the parking lot. guzzi content, my Bassa in background
  8. no there are not issues with the ECU.. more likely you need TPS set up right along w/a new TB sync. Whats your location? some one nearby may be able to help.
  9. there are throttle stop screws (on each throttle body) that need to be backed out all the way before you set the baseline.
  10. did you sync at 3k rpm or just at idle? I balance the TB's above idle then bring idle into sync with the air bleed screws.
  11. you could look at the swing arm pivot pins and be sure they have the SA centered.. could your rear tire need balancing? I've had floor boards and if anything they have less vibration that my peg model Bassa.
  12. push start is when your wife is along and she pushes, Jump start is when you have to run along side to get up enough speed then you jump on the bike and pop the clutch..? ps, the Convert has to get up to 34mph to bump start so she better be able to really push it!
  13. about 9 degrees F, 13 riders showed up yesterday in Minneapolis.
  14. Oh Yea, welcome to the forum.
  15. don't these guys do outstanding Moto Guzzi service? http://www.motorcycl...mance-2072.html take it there first. http://www.epfguzzi.com/forsale/street.html#moto_guzzi
  16. #1 You need to set the valves, throttle bodies,TPS, etc. #2 Purchase a PowerCommander from a dealer/installer & have it mapped for your altitude & humidity. #3 You will go back in time 100 yrs. to go to carbs. if you went to carbs how would you send a TPS signal to the CPU?
  17. you could get a bicycle speedo like a Sigma and solve both the odometer and speedo problem for about 30 bucks.. It will likely be MORE accurate than the stock unit too.
  18. cheap steel rims w/tubes... fuel pump hose comes off inside tank... needs after market shocks... My friend Ryan had one w/a bad ECU, he had to take back to dealer about 6 times (dealer was a jerk,, said they all run like that) Finally Piagio stepped up and completely replaced it w/a new Vintage, here he is..
  19. here are the winning videos from the Aerostich contest, http://www.aerostich.com/2010-contest-winners?utm_source=Aerostich+Email+List&utm_campaign=76fc3fab1c-sl20101210&utm_medium=email
  20. nice, love the pipes/ what are they?
  21. I agree, guzzis dont like low revs so treat it like a 2 stroke I cured similar symptoms with a Mistral cross over, made all the difference. I can cruise thru town at 3k no problem but she sings a whole new aria above 5k rpm.
  22. I won one category of the Aerostich Video Contest with that. this won the sundry category, and I got Grand Prize Honorable Mention for my epic vacation vid, Just braggin..
