  2. that dealer has a pretty good rep..you could buy it and ride to the Guzzi National in Iowa on the way home. Passing thru Minneapolis? look me up. I'd say try getting it for 4500. I have an 02 and carry the spare shift spring but have not needed it yet, 19k+ I don't look at the engine paint..
  3. Try the screw marked green and make sure the bushing marked red hasn't come loose, too loose. hubert nice photo Hubert!
  4. it could have swelled a little, its a cylinder shape so if you pull straight up it will come out. don't pull on wire.
  5. welcome to here.. the photos must not be hosted at that spot anymore.. sorry I can't help with that.. you can get the new shifter spring from MGcycle.com.. It's a known issue with the '02's I carry a spare but have not had the problem yet. another hangout spot is http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=a0f16383e6c428302628a7c7520a41af&board=1.0 I don't recall it being brought up over there but you could post your ? there, that board has more traffic so might answer you quicker.
  6. a Mistral x-over fixed my stumble around that rev range.
  7. another failure to learn from the past.. the first version of the Convert came with a pressed steel plate for a fly wheel, it was about 3 pounds and thin.. the same thing happened to them where they spun the middle right out, the fix was a 15 pound flywheel with starting gear in one piece. this is the thin one I modded to trigger the crank sensor on a EV motor, and here's what the other one looked like,
  8. I can't believe there is any difference like that between the two motors..
  9. Yes you should get a Mistral x-over.. it solved a lot of running issues in the 3-4k rev range for me.
  10. Angel front? I'm going w/a set of Angels next week.
  11. are you confused by the term base setting? the 150mv is with no throttle stop at all, then you increase to 465Mv (or what ever) with the idle adjusting screw..
  12. Yipee! and I didn't really mean the "this is dumb" part. is it dumb to let your dog drive?
  13. I still can, fn relax, I'm really torn on getting a griso 1100. The great community is leaning me that way, butt the all out hooliganism of the Duke, it sings to me with its siren song well shucks, I thought you wanted the RC8.
  14. btw, are you going on the anti-flood run? I am thinking of joining you if the weather isn't too shotty. I am planning on it! see you there.
  15. ACE hardware has a swivel nozzle attachment for about 6 bucks that worked for me.
  16. I wish I could get this one, http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/mcy/2301219374.html
  17. Glad your back did you see this? http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/2292454177.html
  18. thanks all, I'm getting the Angels.
  19. I got 9,000 miles out of my Pirelli Diablo xxxxxxx forgot the model but they don't make them now, should I just get the Angels? whats this Night Dragon? not sure the sport Demon comes in my size but the price is right on them.and the Diablo. give me sage advice but I'm done w/Metzlers.. I can get this Pirelli Rear Diablo 180/55ZR-17 Blackwall Tire for 103.00 US $102.99 * Pirelli Front Diablo 120/70ZR-17 Blackwall Tire or Pirelli Front Angel St 120/70ZR-17 Blackwall Tire 107.00 Pirelli Rear Angel St 180/55ZR-17 Blackwall Tire 140.00
  20. I must be old, got my first Guzzi 33 years ago,
  21. I think it all revolves around your physical size.. If 6 feet or over you can probably handle it fine as a learner bike.. small guy? learn on a smaller bike but the Ducati's you mention might have a little too much spunk as a first bike. have you ever used a clutch? a lighter bike will be easier to learn that part.
