that's what I do too.

trying to picture that...where the tranny splits off? sealant in the oil? my motor has an oil weep somewhere up front, like the timing cover gasket.. it gets oil all over the block up there but never goes down on the dip stick. I should get into it this winter.

I have 15k on mine which is near identical.. BEST GUZZI I EVER HAD! forget the bubbling motor paint, buy it!

yes and they are children these days! the business is shedding the older knowledgeable, experienced journalists faster than you can say layoff... retirement packages are a joke. -
are you sure you got (both?) black wires back on the battery? it sounds like you might have missed a ground cable, did you disconnect it from the frame or motor somewhere?

I think the wider rim was put on the 2002 and later V11's.
