When planning for a tank-off on the V11, I run the fuel level as low as possible and prepare a place to set the tank (a saw horse works great to keep the pressure off the bottom of the tank which may spread it more). I have also found keeping the tank the same temperature while it is off has introduced less distortion. I have had consistent results with the ratchet strap, but compress gradually and gently. The various methods to reinstall are detailed here:

The black Sport certainly looks nice, although it is really impossible to tell from a single image. It would be nice to see some actual service records, see it start up and ride nicely with both the tach and speedo working . . . . -

My March 2000 build is 112641, so presumably built earlier than yours, Jason. Build date is on the left side headstock plaque. -
Just to clarify, I am pretty sure this part is on Tinus89's V65 Florida and not his V11 . . .

The bracket simply stopped being applied after the very earliest V11 Sports. Mine is a March 2000 build and did not have it. I was not aware any US V11 had it from the factory. It is such a fiddly thing to fit around the fuel injection that I've always suspected it was eliminated for simplicity of assembly. Enough early V11 gearboxes have cracked to prompt many of us to retrofit one. -
Any hopes of comparing these with a V11 Sort/LeMans cranks? And, yes, clothed please!

That would awesome if an overfull reservoir could be the issue. (I've never heard of that). Otherwise, easy enough to service the lever and pivot. Will the lever travel misbehave pulling and releasing it just sitting with the bike off, or does it have to be rolling for it to occur?
-
And by "dragging", you mean the bike would creep forward even though the lever was pulled fully in? Ugh, when my Sport did that intermittently it turned into a much bigger deal . . . hopefully you just need a lever service or a master cylinder rebuild.
-
Another member recently had something similar and it was just the lever sticking. Simple enough to start by removing it and cleaning, lubing the pivot points. Be mindful of the little actuators inside the hole that operate the safety switch. Mine once split its master cylinder spring to pieces and affected the lever similarly:

"Psssst! Hey! Hey, buddy, cm'ere-cm'ere . . . trade ya this Scud-made First-Gen Chuck SuperSpring for a Chuck-made Third-Gen LuckyPhil Shift Extender" . . .

So, the replacement master cylinder (from a wrecked '02 LeMans with 9713 miles) is installed and holding pressure. What a major PITA to get it to prime and bleed. Apparently, the hose connecting the reservoir, and that barbed angle fitting, to the M/C is a nasty air trap. Thanks @MartyNZ for the tip! You're a bright cadre of lads, yah? WTH, we cannot figure out a rebuild for our Brembo® front brake master cylinder? Same master cylinder for the entire V11 series?

I'm not running Pirelli anymore , but went through a bunch of them in the mix (just mounted tire #57 on the Sport). FWIW, I found the best wear/handling balance at 35/40 psi, fr/rr. As always, "YMMV." Literally!

Yeah, for some unknown reason, the usual method of posting images ("BB Code") which Pete used correctly above is not being recognized by the new forum software. You can post your images direct using just the address beginning with "http", AFAIK. Here are the images I searched individually and posted "Copy Image location." The first two look identical to me. -

Listed 11 weeks ago. "Low miles" is anything less than 118,000? -
This is from the "1100" to the V11?
-
I am guilty of forgetting that the 1999-2001 Sport and the V11 LeMans variants are not the only "V11" and certainly not the only 1064 Big Blocks. Other than things like the carbs vs. FI, sump/spacer, exhaust flanges, and valve covers, aren't the V11 Sport motors the same as the Sport 1100/ 1100 Sport-i (pistons, rods, heads, valves and cam, etc.)? And, even more, are there differences from the V11 "EV"/ California motors?
-
I've always wondered, are the Centauro and Daytona motors identical?

Easy to agree that it is not much more than a tidy-up and a change of clothes. Yet, I rather like the party dress! (Even if it is a bit garish for my plain tastes . . .) I have to say, I did enjoy the man's obvious passion. How many of us have started up our Guzzi then lovingly, and repeatedly, rolled the throttle on and off to revel in that rocking, syncopated rhythm?

Well, Zip-tied for even thirty minutes and the pressure is gone. No drop in fluid level. Pressure immediately returns with another squeeze. I have a used m/c on the way with 110,000 fewer miles on it. I suppose some wee scrap of trash could have gotten in from my last bleed/flush attempt, but will likely perform the cleaning task on the replacement before installation.

This still blows my mind. I try telling people about it and it is just beyond description. Totally blows my mind.
