Nicely done, mate! Love how you set up the intakes to cool the fuel filter and R/R! The determination to retain the airbox and sidecovers really impresses/ You should be right-ready to ship her in for the next (US) South'n Spine Raid!

I recall how hard I found the lid's intake material was to "bellmouth" back in 2015. I went looking through that thread for any reference to the material, but found more fun than science. I know that surprises you guys about me.

No foul, all good to post technical questions. Obviously, the willing expertise here is vast. Yet, as this is not a V11 topic, look for it to move to a non-V11 subforum. Don't hate the moderator, but that will be Special place for banter and other silly remarks, "Everything non-Guzzi and Redneck trashtalk."

Wow, knumbnutz, thanks for taking time to post the article with those individual panels! Made it a delight to read and zoom in on the fabulous images. And if I am reading correctly (and the translation is correct), as meticulous as the Guareschi were, they only lightened the MGS-01 5,5 kg/ 12 pounds? Seems the wheel change alone would have been greater than that (?)

I've been at this front U-joint thing a long time. No one has framed the question better than "dangerous" . . . This is what I use:

V11 swingarm bearings . . . > groan < . . .

My Sport sure seems to idle more reliably with the looser valves I the high ambient temps and traffic of the US south, especially on this crap ethanol fuel. Do not looser valves cool better from staying closed that wee bit longer? Or one of those theoretical things that just doesn't make a significant difference?

Maybe a little heat?

My March 2000 build Sport has the "D" and "S". Perhaps later V11, like leroysch's '04 do not? All this time I thought 4 and 6 thou (0.004" intake/ 0.006" exhaust) were US specs more for noise and emissions and "world clearances" were 6 and 8 thou? "Raceco" lash: 8 and 10 ?

I seem to recall that the markings are further forward than I expect. Pretty sure TomChri's TDC indicator comes in shy of thirty bucks . .

Terrific, stew! When you want to display an image in a post, open it in your album and click "copy image location", then simply copy into your post. GREAT photos, BTW! Thanks!

Interesting to search images under "Wescoa Engine Technology" . . . .

How many Ghezzi Brian Folgore were imported to USA?
docc replied to Moto Americano's topic in 24/7 V11
A picky point, perhaps, but I am not certain I have ever seen a Ghezzi-Brian built bike from a V11. All I have seen are the previous model Sport1100 or 1100 Sport-i with the 5speed gearbox and previous generation reardrive, other differences. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just not V11. as always, correct me if that is not correct. Just an observation from the very little exposure I have with Ghezzi-Brian bikes. -
Maybe a little faux finning to qualm the purists amongst us . . .

That would be badass on a Moggie Trike!

How many Ghezzi Brian Folgore were imported to USA?
docc replied to Moto Americano's topic in 24/7 V11
I wish I knew of a resource to answer that question. Perhaps Brian Slark at Barber's in Alabama? Perhaps they would be interested in the bike, itself? The airbox-in-frame is amazing . . . -
Wow, Gil! This is awesome! Thanks, dearly, for sharing this with us! The motor in the Porsche sounds GLORIOUS! Keep it coming, buddy!

I have the shorter, non-pinned bolt and never take it loose. Even with the through-bolt, you should be able to support the bike and chock the rear wheel, retract (or remove) the axle, then rotate the caliper and slide it off the small block that swivels on the bolt in question. At this point, you could get locking pliers on the inboard extension of the bolt and spin it out of the swingarm. (Make sure a suitable replacement is on hand, of course.) Correct me if this will not work on the later V11s with the longer bolt . . .

Here we are, again, asking the other inmates on the ward if we really are just that crazy, after all . . .

I so wanted to do this last time mine needed a refinish. Details, please? (source, quality, sleeves in the fastener holes (?), > pics < . . . .)

Tricky thing with this illustrated exercise, was to mount the rider in full gear and all luggage to assess the "weight distribution."

Baja has been a life-long fascination for me (along with [Paris] Dakar) . . . How do you start a race-prepped Ducati? With a Honda, of course!

( . . . . pssssst . . . . hey, buddy . . . you gotta get some of this . . . . )

'"Wrench art" . . . that's a good one. As is "Allen wrench tight." I've always used a "star pattern" to remove and replace them, snugging up in a coupl'a-three steps. These original gaskets will probably have to be milled off. (If I ever actually have to change them . . . )
