  1. Haven't looked in there for a while. Ew: nasty. Piston returns ok, but time for a clean up and some silicone lubricant. Thanks for heads-up!
  2. I think those red mouthed bells are the ram air?
  3. I don't think the Teflon will sustain the exhaust temps. But others will chime in who know best.
  4. Haha - I lent some assistance to a stranded rider the other night (rather late) as his tail lights had gone out on his Honda. As we went about looking for parts, he wondered why my Garmin GPS was speaking Spanish. "It's Italian," I told him. "My bad" he says, but never asks "Why?" is why!
  5. That was fun!!! american English is so dull : (
  6. Leon, Good news all the way around! Its fine now to use the idle speed adjustment screw on the left TB to adjust the idle and reset the air bleed screws for balance. Mine have always been happiest at a full turn out especially in high ambient temperatures. Now . . . about that beer . . .
  7. Aye, and then so: here again - "sloe" isn't "slow", no? So, what would make the gin "sloe?"

    Chin Pad

Those of us with the early Sports 1999-2001 have a tank with the fuel pump external and a foam "chin pad" on the top of the tank. It's held on with a pair of steel ball inserts that capture into rubber oval grommets attached to the tank top. After strapping down a tank bag for over ten years, the chin pad's inner structure deformed and it no longer captured well in the grommets. I've heard of them going missing and "re-contoured" (bent) the pad back to a better fit. While removing the filler cap ring to touch up its finish scratched from fuel nozzles, I discovered the front chin pad nut had detached from the pad leaving only the one fastener to keep it (from going missing). I've attempted to recapture the nut with a contact adhesive and RTV silicone while the paints cure on my filler ring. Just a "heads-up" on checking your chin pad connection to be sure yours doesn't go missing!
  9. I dunno - that Ten-Fidy (10 1/2 %) made for a pretty interesting session over at Motowfo's Rancho Loco. at least until the single malt came out . . . Apparently, the brakes of an MGA cannot be properly bled without the correct fluids: brake fluid, stout, and single malt.
  10. Interesting. In the States, we're really coming onto our own on local breweries. Finally! Andy, what do you mean by a "session ale?"
  11. Anything emry shows you will be top shelf!
  12. Never tuned a V11 over the phone before - that was fun! Sounded like a P51 Mustang in the background! (Ferracci pipes will do that for a v11 don't ya know!) Looking forward to the Thrill Ride tomorrow (weather permitting). It's all "fine tuning" from here, Leon!
  13. Now, I said i have no window, but there is the forward window to access the pinch bolts. My zerk faces rearward, so I can't see a way to get to it through this window unless it were huge. (Huge might be ok . . .)
  14. You sure that post was on just one beer? (I'll give you a call, buddy . . .) AHA! See! I knew there was more than one beer at play here: yours and mine . . .
  15. Ain't that sweet? Makes look ever more to the upcoming South'n Spine Raid. Sure, that's not Spa, but the beauty of a few Guzzis on a curvy road is not to be denied! :race:
  16. Not so much a surprise. My Guzzi dealer basically said if it starts, runs, and shuts off they weren't messing with it. A patient owner with simple tools, a basic procedure, and a little time can work wonders with a V11.
  17. What Hubert said ^ (complete tune-up). Re-check valve adjustment first (use at least "world spec" if not the looser "Raceco specs" for your edgier set-up).
  18. No window of any sort on my 2000 Sport. All access is from the rear with the wheel off. I know I got the grease gun n it once for sure since the coupling wouldn't come off. :angry2: Since that, I learned the grease gun can be rotated counter clock-wise (unscrewed) to release the fitting, but still moved on to the needle. Andy's window is the way to go, fr sure. Pictures of that, Andy?

    Ya,,I'll take it!

Anybody know where I can get her to start up my V11 Sport? While filming? On a French backstreet . . . (I'd skip the filming and go on the photographic memory . . .) OK, I'll even skip the French backstreet . . .
  20. I had to cut the point off the needle and de-burr it, but finally got some confidence that a little lube made it in.
  21. Hubert always has a good reason for what he says. He just doesn't always say the reason . . .
