  1. JGP , what are you trying to "fix" ?
  2. Just about the time it starts to turn red , you take the gun away and off it comes . I have used one at work and it works better than you can ever imagine.
  3. I am sorry for the misfortune .
  4. People do not consider the ground to be an important part of the circuit.
  5. The most intelligent person i ever met said 95% of all electrical problems will be w/in 6" of an electrical connection . Look there first before you go looking for your "purloined letter".
  6. Just do what you think is best. I was going from memory when I repalced the fuel injectors.
  7. It is a throttle body and you wil probably loosen the rubber clamp at the manifold , push everything back and remove the aluminum manifold by removing the three screws. Consider buying new gaskets too. Then loosen the clamp at the throttle body and pull the boots off and away from the bike. You will want to use a small amount of rubber lube to reassemble everything. Don't forget to swap the clamps to the new boots and take your time.
  8. It happens . Contact a M/G dealer near you for availability and go from there . IDK who has the best inventory where you live. Get at least two and change both because these things fail often .
  9. Picture #1 I have no idea . Picture #2 this is the turn signal flasher . You need a M/G wiring diagram for this particular bike to find out what's what !
  10. Are/were the same technologies used with the Western locomotives as the European locomotives ? No , I'm not stupid either. What I am asking is , did the technology advance faster in the 1800-1900s faster in the West than Europe ?
  11. WE were discussing steam trains the other night and I told my wife , a steam locomotive EXISTS . It is alive , it breathes , it inhales , exhales , it does everything. No other form of transportation did , does or will do this .
  12. Why do these start immediately or it takes forever ? If you forget the exact throttle opening you fail to start .
  13. Brother , I hear you on the "head above water" part. This version of a M/G needs appreciation more than adoration. It came out w/a lot of electrical problems that showed up in old age. The fuel system was tuned for an area that I am not sure exists . We all have found out the personality issues w/these bikes . If you need a bike to work on , you will enjoy this forum. Internet communication can be difficult to interpret. A terse response can sound like a smartass answer.. The fuel system on these bikes require perfect tuning , just like EFI systems do on your car/truck. They are all tuned to borderline lean so if it goes any leaner it gets hairy. Hang w/us and hang out . Any time you need any or a lot of info , PM and I will give you my cell # .
  14. Well , are you braggin' or complainin' ? If I wanted Utopia , I'd take the blue pill and buy a sterile Honda and live a meaningless life . Instead , I will ride a M/G and enjoy my life !
  15. Unfortunately , getting this bike in PERFECT condition is demanding and you have to follow every step to perfection to achieve any type of happyness .
  16. Do you own a temp gun ? They're not expensive or find any shop that has one or an infra-red camera to check the temps of things for you .
  17. You can always Google and see if there are any floating around or call Harper's or MG Cycle . I'm sure they could hook you up .
  18. I worked on a 88 Chevy p-up w a 350 TBI that had been sitting a couple of years . No start= no fuel injector spray. Tapped on the TBI unit (extremely) close to the injectors and it cranked and ran. I kept this secret to myself until now.
  19. As long as you are asking good questions and making forward progress , you are not hogging this forum . What are you looking for in this picture ?
  20. I can't explain what happens , I just know it works
  21. I send mine off messed up and they come back and I'm happy. They send a report of before/after. I think I use RC Fuel Injector Service . I like to keep my injectors the same ones that are on the bike w/so much junk on the market I am afraid to go with something else.
  22. You can try removing the injectors and sending them off for reconditioning . That is the only thing to do.
