The Centauro, Mighty Scura, Rosie the Rosso, and a friend's Daytona all start the same way for me. Just crank it, crack the throttle to *just* the right place and it starts right up. They'll crank forever if you don't do that, for whatever reason.. -

Ooh, nice find, Mr. Scudder. I understand that if you put them in the garage for a while, you will allowed to keep them after SWMBO gets used to seeing it.. It didn't work with the lady in the bikini I found at Bikeweek, though..

Missed this somehow.. I've flown a Super Ace, but it was a completely different animal with a 65 horse Continental on the nose. Being able to see forward is over rated..

I haven't seen Terry on it for a long time.. but I only saw him at rallies. Probably his Cali bagger was a better 2 up bike for him and Maggie.. RIP, Terry.. you were a good guy.

Yeah, I wondered if it was Terry's. (?) Dunno, but likely I'd think. He also had a Centauro and 97 (?) 1100 with gold plated valve covers.

Ok, I can be the poster child for hearing aides. As Scud said, I should have been a little smarter about it, but I wasn't. Industrial noise, flying, motorcycling, rock concerts, you name it, have taken their toll. I have a medical condition called, "deaf as a post." I've been wearing them for 30 years (or more) and the tech involved is amazing. They used to be not much more than amplifiers of what you couldn't understand anyway. 10 years ago, the person that fitted you was the difference between Roper working on your Guzzi and the local Japanese emporium "tech" working on it. Now, computers take much of the "skill" out of the equation. Fast forward to today, and with micro electronics, computers and "real ear" hearing tests, I can engage in conversations again instead of smiling and nodding. . Until this latest set, I still had to have close captioning on all TV programs. Conversation in noisy areas was unlikely. These bluetooth to the TV, and my phone, and give me the ability to listen to music again. There is still a learning curve for your brain. Is it the same as normal hearing? No. Still amazing, though, and can be a life changer. Rechargable. These happen to be Phonak Paradise, but I imagine other manufacturers can be similar.

I "lost" the Centauro key one time when I'd stopped for a few minutes. Looked everywhere, pockets, made concentric circles around everywhere I'd been. Gave up on that, and found that somehow, I'd knocked the key out of the ignition when I shut it off, and it had fallen down between the tank and frame. -

*I don't know* if it can be wired backwards. If I were guessing, I'd say no. What it requires is time. We're talking minutes here.. If you haven't used one, as the fuel level drops and the thermistor warms up, the resistance changes. At first the light will just faintly glow, and as the fuel level drops more, the resistance gets less and less to make the light brighter.

I haven't followed this thread, but if you are talking about the fuel level sender.. it's not just a switch, it is a thermistor. It takes time for it to heat up when not covered by fuel to keep it cool. People used to unhook the old fuel level switches when fuel sloshing in the tank would make the low fuel light flash off and on.
