  1. Oh, it reads minute voltages ok, but the "break points" are too large down at idle, as far as I remember.
  2. Hmmm, Washington, Rosso.. is this the famous Jamayla (sp?) from central California? If so.. Hi, Jamayla!

*I don't know* but I'm betting if it's cracked it is hardened. In that case, no.
  4. Quit calling me Shirley, but that's blue (removable) thread locker that you are seeing. I use it..sparingly.. when I think it will be useful. Most people use way too much.
  5. When I was a young pup of 60 or so, my neck and wrist pain took me away from sport bikes. Tried a cruiser. Hated it. I *thought* I was in good shape physically, but a personal trainer disabused me of that notion. He said my core strength sucked, and would get me back on sport bikes and road bicycles in short order. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.. but he was right.
  6. HBD, young feller.. looks like it was a great time.
  7. Your old spring was ready to break from over travel. From memory the gearbox needs to be in neutral for the dogs to line up, so from memory you can't assemble it incorrectly.
  8. That's my guess.
  9. I welded a stud in the bore, welded the bearing so it wouldn't turn, and made a steel saddle with a hole in it for the stud to go through. Put a nut on it, and started turning the crank.. No damage to the swing arm.
  10. ^^^^ Actually, the one I had on the Palm Pilot worked. I had to send it to him so he could load it on the PP. Maybe the only one ever? Dunno. Checked out The Kid's Duck with it.. he was impressed.. it would work on anything. When the PP died, so did the program, though.
  11. Unkept couldn't get one out, so I said bring it down, and tackled it with a grin. I couldn't get it out, either. I ended up welding up that stupid bearing and jacking it out of there.
  12. Is that it? Does everyone have theirs, now?
  13. Wow, that took a long time, but I'm glad they made it. The shipping services are slammed but apparently still working.
  14. That is a common problem with the big blocks. Your differing amount of washers doesn't mean squat. It happened to The Kid the first time he rode his Spot in anger in the Appalachians. You'll notice the gasket gets sucked inward. His was sucked inward in the same place. Use the gaskets with metal core. He's the best mechanic I know, and he knows how to properly install a gasket. We did a field repair with gasket goo that got us through the trip, then he installed the "good" gaskets. 2017-06-04_01-31-41 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
  15. Yeah, I'm sure Scud has some. Don't worry, be happy. It was always on the back of my mind, too. It's *possible* to change one on the side of the road, but I'd hate to try it.
  16. Guzzi delivered Norges with the Bosch 3330 for a while. These supposedly cross reference. I always use the 3330. It's an ok if not spectacular filter.. 17. I used to have VDST on a Palm Pilot and it was much better than nothing. Just the same, Guzzidiag does so much more and costs so much less..
  18. Check your PMs..
  19. Oh, boy.. an oil filter thread. You literally couldn't give me an UFI. There have been many manufacturing QC "difficulties" over the years. Bad gaskets, leaking at the seam, and poor paint prep. I'm *pretty* sure that a run of bad gaskets caused the whole "hose clamp" fiasco. Guzzi delivered bikes with the Bosch 3330 for a while during one of UFIs screw ups. The made in Mexico Frams used to be crap. Dunno any more.
  20. I repainted a rear drive one time with the Harley paint.. and to me it looks more coarse. I really doubt that it will be noticeable as a patch, though.
  21. Well, if a guy *has* to have a V11S, I suppose those two are ok...
  22. Always glad to see a satisfied customer..
  23. The old spring is not OK. It has already taken a "set" from over travel, and will break sooner of later.. your number one rule on tinkering is spot on, however.
  24. DeOxit is magic in a can. Trust me on this. Your Siemans relays are OEM, and known to fail. I have a drawer full of them that I've replaced on Guzzis. Get some good relays, take apart electrical connections, squirt some DeOxit on them, insert, wiggle around.. oh you know.. do a tuneup, and you'll be good to go. Welcome to the best place on Earth if you have a V11S, btw..
  25. ^^^^ True. For it to run really badly.. requires a massive vacuum leak. Like a backfire causing a throttle body to come loose from the rubber. Don't ask me how I know this..
