  1. Picks pretty fair lines..
  2. Very nice.. Greetings to you, too, Niels..
  3. I'm guessing, of course..but.. is likely the culprit.
  4. And which "style" wrench do you prefer Chuck? Inquiring minds... It's hard to beat a beam for accuracy. I have several types, though. I use a clicker in a production application.
  5. A torque wrench is best at the middle of it's range. Shouldn't be off more than 5% from low to high, though..
  6. NEP is my "go to" throttle lock. I have one on the AeroLario since it is my traveling bike.
  7. From my mini Southern Spine Raid report: "After the grand tour, we walked out to the bikes, and Brad said, would you look at that? WTF?" One of the bolts that holds the driveshaft coupler was backed off a thread. Most people would have never seen it, but an aircraft inspector just sees that kind of stuff. Now the question is, Why? That bolt is just not likely to have backed out on its own.. but the Kid is a pretty competent mechanic. He said, I can only guess that I never torqued it properly. I told him that it was no doubt the final test. You are worthy.
  8. There are a couple of bullet connectors on the left side up by the steering neck. Take em apart, spray with DeOxit, put em together, wiggle them around.. oh.. you know. Forget about them for several years.
  9. First, that ain't gonna buff out. Second, I agree with Lucky Phil. It appears to me to be a yoke failure for whatever reason. I would have thought that if a bolt caught on the collar, though, it would be trashed, too. At any rate, the Sausage Creature is ok. That's all that is important..
  10. Isn't tearing down your ride a common theme around spine raid time? That sucks, Docc. I'd help if I could. What was the first clue?
  11. Radial aircraft engine mechanic..
  12. The mighty Scura has been abused sit for long periods ran hard set for long periods Etc. Never a drop.. of course now she is jinxed.

I'm tellin ya, that stuff is magical.
  14. I was hooking up the camper lights last week to go to Oshkosh.. and nothing. Nada. Unplugged, replugged, wiggled it around.. nothing. Went to the Guzzi Garage ™ grabbed my can of DeOxit, gave it a squirt, plugged it back in. Lights. I could sell that stuff..

    Me, too..
  16. You think there might be a little corrosion on the solenoid?
  17. You are probably searching in a topic that doesn't have much activity. Just go to "forums" and search.
  18. Every plastic tank I've had has swollen with 10% fuel. I first discovered it with my Centauro. The first time I took it off for service, it wouldn't go back on. I was thinking, "WTF did I screw up this time??" Literally spent hours with modeling clay to see where it was hitting. Finally realized the tank had "grown" in length. Orthodontia with tie down straps didn't do it. Finally came up with a different way of holding it down. It was still that way several years later. Rosie the Rosso Corsa developed blisters under the decals. The Mighty Scura tank has grown in length, too, but still fits. Barely. (Whew!) Fortunately, Apoo the local Indian guy has 90 unleaded when his pumps aren't locked down. Went there tonight, but all the pumps had bags over the nozzles again. Came on home, and will wait until he pays his credit card (or what ever is happening) so I can get some more.
  19. Rox, I went through that with the Rosso Corsa/Mighty Scura. Having both in Indiana didn't make much sense. The Scura won. My friend Jim just ponied up the bux when I told him what I thought Rosie was worth. For anyone that might be looking, I've ridden Rox's Lemans. It is the best running stock Lemans I've ever ridden.
  20. It *is* Paul, isn't it? Gettin old is a bitch.. but Paul, make sure that the bead seating area is cleaned really well by whoever puts on your next set. That is the normal slow leak. The other is simply a valve core.
  21. Agreed, Docc.. I've used nothing else for several years.
  22. From memory.. Greg Field posted a fix several years ago.. if you find a new one. You have to cut it open and lube the gears. The metal gear is the one that wears..again from memory. Hey! I'm old. Can't remember everything. I was going to look into possibly making something, but Rosie the Rosso Corsa went to a friend when I brought the Mighty Scura back to Indiana.
  23. I've tired em all. Used to be an Angel fan. Conti sport attacks. I don't know how long they'll last, but that wasn't on your shopping list.
  24. The Scura, Rosso Mandelo, and Tenni had the single plate clutch. FWIW, the Mighty Scura is that old, has 36000 miles, and the injectors are fine.
  25. *Something* is wrong.. it shouldn't take more than a partial turn..
