  1. G'day Yeah, we have an older black 1100 sport in the club here in Victoria and it really suits it...! Cheers Guzzler
  2. I've been running 35/36 psi ( cold ) in the front and 37/38 rear in these for a while now and they've been pretty good. I like it and them...GT11 normal This morning I must've been half asleep and put 38 ish ( cold ) in the front... Hmm maybe this works on other bikes but I sure as hell didn't like it on the way home and it was 30+ degrees out and WINDY. When I got home I let out a fair bit of air out of the front then curiosity got the better of me and checked it ...34 psi!! Bloody hell I must've had well over 40 psi in there on the way home! I know this road isn't the greatest and it was very windy but the ole tart with aforementioned 35/36 cold handles it very very well. Seemed like I lost a fair bit of confidence in the front as it slipped off ( ?) the odd irregularity and bounced off bigger bumps and just didn't feel planted... Glad it wasn't wet ha ha. Anyways I'll be a bit more vigilant next time, maybe a bit more coffee first ? Cheers Guzzler Ps Bloody annoying when something you do stuffs up what would normally be a FUN ride especially when you haven't been able to get out on it much of late...bugger
  3. Ha ha Mine was a 1952 Morris Oxford. Side valve motor, no synchromesh to first gear so if you ran out of steam on a steep hill you had to stop the car and select first gear from a stand still! And although Christchurch NZ is flat as a tack mostly, the Port hills and the Alps meant you got pretty good at hill starts... Bloody hell, I can almost smell the old leather interior! Built like a tank too. Cheers Guzzler
  4. Very well put Doc.. These bikes are SO MUCH MORE than just Motorcycles!! Cheers Guzzler
  5. G'day folk's Really hope to be able to get out and about soon to take a few photo's to share! It's a funny ole time here in Oz what with Melbourne being the world's most locked down city and only gaining freedom not long ago, and now the exodus is on in earnest to make up for lost time + CRAZY and WILD weather usually at the bloody weekends too, has made it hard to get out and about. Now that we seem to be able to have a normal Christmas with family and friends a lot of time will be spent catching up! I was planning to get away for a weekend in December before the holidays started but didn't eventuate due to Family /Work /House chores and WEATHER so reckon it'll be Feb before I can get out on the bike again as EVERYWHERE is booked out and packed due to said exodus to our regional areas as people reluctant to travel interstate for fear of border closures etc... I do get a reprieve in that I'm taking the bike into work at our Dandenong branch tomorrow morning and my Niece's for Xmas day so this could be the extent of it for a wee bit... Hope some of our other Southern Brethren may be able to chime in in the meantime...? Cheers Guzzler
  6. Yep Many an enquiring mind would like to know this.... Cheers Guzzler
  7. Pressie for me and the bike that is... Ha ha
  8. G'day Sadly all I can do is look at her at the moment.. Between work/home chores and being crook there for a few days I haven't gotten out for a ride in 6 bloody weeks! Might just take the ole tart for a run to my niece's place on Christmas day, ha ha be a present for us both. Cheers Guzzler
  9. Bloody hell , I've got the stutters now... Please disregard the double up, I must be hovering round the 3 -4 k wobbly zone myself! Cheers Guzzler
  10. Cheers mate. I might just give that a whirl next start up! Hopefully that'll be sometime soon, been 5 weeks so she'll be well and truly cold....

  12. G'day Mines the same from dead cold she needs a wee bit o throttle before she ba-booms into life... Same as Doc's fires first touch of the button after that. Cheers
  13. I don't mind it either but do agree the radiator could have been done better... Cheers Guzzler
  14. G'day fellas Sorry to drag the thread backwards but as I was ( maybe am ) contemplating raising rear ride height,,, How much longer than stock is the Ohlins unit? Cheers Guzzler
  15. G'day I have a Hyperpro 460 shock on mine ( would assume same length as std ?) and also have forks up through the triples by 8mm and happy with it too! As for the hairy handling on bumpy roads, I think this may be due to holes in compression side fork leg and oil blowing through them instead of the valving as per previous threads. This can then lead to a hydraulic lock and strong rebound which can be interesting in the right environment to say the least. Since I had the new shock and mods to forks ( but not blocking the holes ) it's been a LOT better than before and we have some roads here that could double as MX tracks! I can still feel it on big hits but a lot less than before due to good suspension technician. I mean to have these holes blocked and forks re-valved again + change progressive springs to straight weight when I have the suspension serviced soon and would think that this wee aberration will be gone for good. Cheers Guzzler
  16. G'day mate Yep we've had some of the worst Covid restrictions here in Victoria, but they are loosening now as you mention. I can imagine it would be a logistical nightmare to get in here at the moment still though ! The weather's been pretty crazy of late but definitely getting better slowly and we have some great riding just out of Melbourne eh!! Would've been a hoot to catch up and show you some of them... Cheers Guzzler Ps I hear you about the rain, we've had plenty of it too ha ha
  17. Public holiday here in Melbourne ( although I'm in regional Victoria, the company is based in Melb ). So before the heat kicks in and every man and his dog starts heading back for work tomorrow. I fired the bike up and went to see Dad and my brother for the first time since late June...! Bloody Covid. Neat 200 k ish round trip, great ride and virtually had the good road to myself on way in and only hit light traffic 10 or so kays from home... WooHoo! Anyway the temp is creeping up now and looks all set for the first dip in the pool since last summer... So Dip and Sip, Dip and Sip ... repeat till wobbly boot sets in and time to retire to the balcony... Not a bad caper this! Cheers Guzzler
  18. Wiped the spring bugs off her after a commute ( rare these days ) to work! The FUN way home was freakin FANTASTIC...! Cheers Guzzler
  19. Bloody hell. I really feel for those in the Northern climes who have to lay their bikes up for the savage winters! We're lucky in being able to ride year round down here and absolutely do so,I did grow up in Christchurch NZ where the winters are harder than Melbourne ( nothing like Europe & Nth America/Canada though ) and sure as hell don't miss the black ice etc and sliding down the road on my arse. Ha ha too old for that shit and thankfully don't see any of it where we are. I do get a bit toey after a couple of weeks if I can't get a ride in and with Covid lockdowns and a miserable wet winter it's been THREE WEEKS now! Still not as bad as the time we moved house, 3 x MONTHS !! If I had to do that every year I'd have myself measured up for a straight jacket and start padding the walls here in the house... Things are looking up though as we're half way through Spring and it will get better. For those of you laid up, hang in there eh, Cheers Guzzler
  20. Geez. That's the best looking Cento I've seen.. Must be an exciting ride ! Cheers Guzzler
