That's handy to know, as don't like the idea of trusting my motor's well- being / life expectancy to some Chinese process workers quality control...... I know the vid says made in Mexico, but cheap labour usually goes hand in glove with poor Q C. Cheers

Like many bike and car enthusiasts I enjoy riding and driving and actually get quite a lot of satisfaction from doing it well... If I'm to be merely a passenger while some device controls everything then as much as I hate public transport maybe it'll be time to embrace it. Hopefully by this stage my sphere of movement will be quite limited.....

I remember this from the previous post and thinking what the.... Geez, how long before they also shove a probe up your clacker when you get in the thing and castigate you for what you ate for brekky that morning? We bought our last new car 8 years ago and when that's done will be looking at a good used option with fook all electronic listening devices / controls and hope like hell I'm off the road before this era really becomes the norm! Cheers

Another example of piss poor quality control..... Unfortunately, with potentially catastrophic repercussions!

I hope so mate!! I'd love him to know and experience the joy that bikes have given me.

I've always had a soft spot for the Triumph Stag.... Beautiful car. I think a lot of the issues were due to it being a hastily cobbled together motor from 2 x Dolomite 4 cylinder engines to make a V8. But once sorted quite reliable and they also sound bloody great! Also fond of old Jags and as for the Chev small block conversion, there used to be a business here in Melb that specialised in this for them. Matter of fact a mate of a mate had an XJ 6 with this and made for a much more reliable car with all the beauty of an old Jag.

Cheers Doc. All done and dusted for another year down here ( Boxing day ) .... You know about 3 years ago when I took the bike to Chrissy at my nieces place, I put young Austin ( about 4 years old ) on the tank and took him for a ride round the block. Sounds dodgy but he was quite safe. When I got there yesterday he was busy setting up his new play station but he made a beeline for me to tell me all about it and says remember when you took me for a ride on your motor bike? Where is it ? I had to tell him it was resting at home for next time! Priceless and still got a wee lump in the throat typing this.... Cheers to each and all.

Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas, 2025 edition.

I also rode a mates BMW K100RT way back when, and after the GSXR 11 it seemed heavy but in reality probably about the same as your Kwacka Mick. That wasn't too bad but bikes over 300 and especially pushing 400kg just don't add up any which way for me. -

Yeah mate, the fact that people think a 225 kg bike is heavy cracks me up.... -

Yeah, it probably is easy once you get it moving, but I reckon bikes just don't need to be this size...... I rode a mates Kawasaki VN 1700 cruiser with all the bells and whistles and jeezuz it's size was intimidating to start with, then the bloody feet forward riding position meant I was off to a wobbly ole start but yeah once you got going it was easier. Then an 1800 Gold Wing, bloody hell you felt ALL of it's 400 odd kilos getting it off the side stand.....Nah these behemoths are definitely not for me! Cheers -
We had that yesterday...37 C and of course it's 18 C today..... Same again tomorrow apparently then warming up again for the Day, but down here I only listen to the forecast for the next day! Whatever the weather's doing in your backyard, enjoy yourselves folk's. Cheers

I remember back in the 70's in NZ we had an 80 kph ( 50 mph ) national speed limit due to the gas crisis ( down from 100 kph ) and heard about the 55mph in the USA. Also remember thinking gee 50 mph in a country the size of the USA would be a pain in the freckle! It wasn't a huge deal in NZ especially the Sth Island given the er twisty nature of our roads, except the boring straight bits on the Canterbury plains esp ChCh to Timaru. Even that wasn't too bad as only a short distance ( felt huge to us at the time though ) and given I was riding a 250 dirt bike and driving a '52 Morris Oxford, speed was an alien concept! Cheers

I also liked the R nine T racer and thought it was the only one of them I'd even consider, but I hear the riding possie is a killer and I have a dodgy neck! Hypothetical as not about to be replacing the V11 anyways... Cheers
