  1. Thanks mate Think I'll keep using 95 here even though it's $2.05 a litre...ouch.
  2. No worries. I can see the range on the Held Australia site and bought mine at Andy Strapz here in Melbourne. Cheers
  3. The page wouldn't open but I did see Held.de. They are a German company so assume that it's the page mate! Yeah I've also heard good things about their gear. Cheers ps would never have known about the hero bit but being inner gloves at least no one sees them!
  4. Ps meant to say I'll report on the breathability in the warmer weather....IF we ever see any of it! Cheers
  5. G'day folk's. Thought I'd share my enthusiasm for these inner gloves. About seven years ago I bought a pair of Rukka Apollo gloves which in the early days were waterproof and comfortable. Then after about two years the bloody Gore-Tex liners would come out when you took them off in warm/hot weather and it was a nightmare trying to get them back in and wear the gloves! So rather than waste $300 or so bucks we pulled the liners out and my wife carefully cut and removed them from the main gloves meaning that they were essentially a separate pair of inner gloves. This worked well till recently when this flimsy pair started falling apart. The last straw was a VERY WET ride home with wet and COLD hands as by now the gloves are nowhere near waterproof anymore unless I use Dubbin on them regularly and at this stage I hadn't done so for a bit! After reading a review of the Infiniums I bought a pair for $55 and tried them! Very bloody impressed! They're like thermal undies for your hands being a tight /close fit. They're also windproof and very comfortable. I have managed to try them in the wet and hands remained warm and dry.The old set-up was ok down to 5 deg's and painful below that, but recently I've been caught out twice in the cold. The first time was 3 deg's leaving home and minus 1 on the flats! Yep it was brutal but not nearly as bad as the old set up which had me screaming in the helmet to try and take my mind off the pain in similar weather.Another time it was 4 on leaving home and 1-2 degrees for about 20 k's and although it was uncomfortable it was still much better than the old set-up as well. I usually avoid riding in temps under 5 but these jiggers make it possible providing it doesn't go too far below it or for prolonged times! (also helps if you go easy on the throttle too, as wind chill is wicked at speed) Money really well spent as it means I'll also get a few more years outa the Rukka main gloves! Cheers Guzzler
  6. Yay The art of the Vintner.... Now is it art if you spit or swallow...? Cheers
  7. Good onya Doc I was looking thru my old receipts / paperwork etc and could only find the driveshaft # 01358730 if anyone needs that. Cheers
  8. I was given a bottle of Chianti a month or so and not tried it as yet.. Might have to try it tomorrow afternoon after my wee jaunt on the Italian mistress. Cheers
  9. I might have to have an extra glass of shiraz later on too....
  10. A fine bit of abstact expressionism there mate....!
  11. Good luck Doc... I've also got a RARE free weekend coming up....(ssshhh fingers crossed)! The weather looks to be coming to the party too but don't want to bugger it by assuming the Met bureau has it right this time! May have to appease ole Bacchus and sacrifice some brain cells later on... just so he can put in a good word to Jupiter for us!!
  12. Took it into the office... Bit fresh on the way in and windy on the trip home but rode the tripe out of her in the fun 40 kays! I think she enjoyed the dance as much as I did. Cheers
  13. Exactly.... Whether or not something is ART or NOT is in the eye of the beholder! Mechanics/engineers will appreciate that side of it whilst others will appreciate it's aesthetic side. Some will appreciate BOTH. Cheers
  14. I'm beginning to think I've been wasting my time (and money) running 95 all these years.... Probably could've used standard old 91! Bugger
  15. Just needs some leather tassels hanging off the bars to finish it off...... I agree, some customs are good and some like matey's efforts above not so much! Ha ha, many mainstream riders look at us Guzzi nuts as a little er different too by the way.... Cheers
  16. Ha ha I remember this craze... There were quite a few OUT THERE versions in sixties early seventies ChCh NZ! Bloody hell, I can still see my mate pedaling like mad up our steet back in '73! This belongs in a Nostalgia thread ha ha Cheers
  17. I keep hearing rumours of 95 being phased out here too... So may have go to 91 at some stage. Cheers Ps Brad Black warned me about using 98 here as per LP's post.
  18. In true Guzzi thriftiness and suspender snapping.... I'm thinking of running 91 octane instead of 95 after it cost me $28.00 for 14 litres on Thursday morning. Never really worried about it before but that's beginning to be on the nose! Cheers
  19. Ha ha I did indeed mate...! Still got a wee glow on. Cheers
  20. G'day folk's Well I finally managed to get a ride in and properly try these new settings! Friday had the day off to take Dad to a meeting so the plan was to ride to Dad's and brother would drive the three of us to the meeting. The weather forecast for Friday was going to be 7 degrees and a sunny high of 13 but no wind or rain...you beauty! Of course it was nothing like that come 5.30am Friday, the scenario for Friday is now Saturdays forecast! Bugger it I've been hanging out to get a ride in for over a week now so sod it and into my wets and off we go. The rain has eased but roads are soaking (here goes my nice clean bike too!) so gassed up and we hit the twisty bits Drouin to Lang Lang.Bloody hell this feels good.I know I didn't get much of a chance to try the settings as before but having gone with Guzzimoto's suggestion and winding settings all the way in ( closed ) and counting back from there to get a true setting of +3 C and +9 R ( as opposed to counting back from full open ) I reckon it has made a difference! By this stage we're in the higher part of the road and it's now raining quite hard in bursts and there's a bit of muck from the various farms that face the road, but I notice more FEEL from the front which made light of the conditions! Ha ha I reckon I rode it a bit harder than I would normally do in the wet too. Interesting and looking forward to the ride home later. So the sun's out @ 1pm but it's drizzling at times by the coast ( at least no sign of the predicted hail ) and the Lang Lang to Drouin road is damp this time round as opposed to soaking as per ride in. I was going to behave but when fate tempts you with an open and clear road with no traffic on it what's a bloke to do....? Ha ha this road has a bit of everything open sweepers and some slightly tighter ones on leaving Lang Lang and the coastal flats then it tightens up as you climb into the tail end of the ranges ( about 200-250 metres altitude ) and run along up and down round and round before coming into Drouin. All up about 40 kays of fun but the road is tricky due to conditions in parts ie Road subsidence /overbanding/ potholes and on one climb, dips which have the bike airborne on two occasions. At the 100k speed limit it's actually fun but anything more and you need to pay attention so it's a VERY GOOD test for your suspension! I'm impressed at how much more feel I now have from the front end and will leave it at these settings for a while longer and ride more and on other roads to evaluate further. This road throws up some big hits and the old girl never deflected and when landing from airborne never bottomed and landed straight and true so I reckon I'm nearly there. I may try C4 R12 at some stage just to see how it goes.... But I'm thinking that maybe any further adjustments may have to come via shim stack for high speed compression on next suspension service? Then again this road would please the moto cross fans in the audience so we'll leave it be for a bit. Really looking forward to my next ride! Cheers Guzzler.
  21. Quite a collection you've got now Tom! Enjoy mate, but hope you've got enough left in the kitty for the IPA... Cheers Guzzler
  22. Probably make for some interesting stoppies.....
  23. Actually I didn't think of that..... The new V7 850 motor would be a fair bit lighter. Then again I've seen these sorta vehicles with S and S 1.7 to 2.0 litre Vtwins up front so may be possible with some jiggery pokery..?
  24. And Guzzi content as well.....! Wonder what it'd be like with a big block motor? 1400 Cali maybe...
