  1. Bloody hell, never thought about that.... We've got two in the house and not a peep out of either, better go check them! Thanks mate.
  2. Ha ha Mine was a bit smoky this morning..... It's 1 degree here and when my wife lit the fire the flu being COLD meant house filled with smoke, so coffee had a wee smoky edge to it! Cheers
  3. Oh dear... One can only imagine what an "artist" might get up to with a V11..... Good on you for restoring her dignity mate!
  4. Andy Strapz does cater to the adventure touring crowd, so his ones do look pretty handy.... Cheers
  5. Thanks Doc. It's beyond my abilities to post a link! Cheers
  6. G'day. Mate, we have a great resource here in Andy Strapz. His gear is bloody good and as he's an avid rider himself anything he sells is WELL tested before he sells it. He has a couple of them ( I'll probably buy one myself at some stage ) and believe he ships world wide. Google him and take a look. Cheers
  7. Think it might be the Quat D style set up you're on about mate? Yeah, I agree that's not my cup o Darjeeling either. I like my Mistral Carbon cans and the reverse cone style you have on yours actually. Cheers
  8. Looks like she might be a bit rowdy with those pipes....?
  9. Bloody hell, that's made quite a difference..... If only it worked as well on creaky knees and dodgy backs! Cheers
  10. I know what you mean. When I was repping I'd have the radio on in the car and it was the same.... Got to be that you almost knew what song was going to come on at a particular time. After I'd been through most channels ( well ones I could stand anyway ) I went to talkback,it was ok for a bit but soon turned to the soft and pungent! That was some years ago and to this day the radio in the car doesn't get turned on, well maybe for a few minutes for a traffic report if it ( traffic ) grinds to a halt. Cheers
  11. Geez,,she could pop round and gaze at my greenie any time she likes.....! Maybe bring Vespa girl too? Cheers
  12. Welcome to the madness mate!! They are a bike like no other and the riding experience rewards like no other.... You'll love it. Cheers Ps I was a goner as soon as I hit the starter at the shop when looking to buy it!
  13. Ha ha, speaking of Nayook and Noojee! The planets have aligned and me and ole mate Dave are off on a wee jaunt to the high country again in about an hour or so and will be heading through here on our way out! Of course, after great weather the last 2 weeks it decides yesterday to turn to SHIT. It's been about 2 years since we got away and in fact the last time ( Xmas hols in Jan.) the planets aligned for a day out on the bikes ( and it takes a planetary alignment for such these days) the bloody breather hose called it quits and put paid to that idea...so heres hoping no such bs this time. Cheers Guzzler. Ps not to mozz it, but it's looking likely to happen now! Woohoo bikes got new shoes and Tank bags packed and ready so I'd best get togged up myself.
  14. Ha ha, Very true mate!
  15. Wiping the coffee off the screen now..... Hilarious.
  16. Mate. That looks pretty good, in fact it's the only Gold Wing I'd even contemplate riding! Kinda always thought the original was best eh! Actually, I was offered a ride on an 1800 6 cylinder jobby some time ago but after hoisting it (about 400 kg's) off the side stand thought the better of it...ha ha . Cheers
  17. Sounds like a wise move mate... I have heard they can be money pits to sort. Cheers
  18. G'day mate. Honda CBX world and ICOA are both USA centric CBX forums as far as I can tell.... It may be worth a look? Our ole V11's are pretty basic bikes but they sure as hell have some foibles that this forum is brilliant at sorting! The CBX forums may possibly be handy for same or if only pointing you to someone reputable? Cheers
  19. G'day mate. Did the club (s) mention any other reputable mechanics in your area who might be able to do it? $175 an hour sounds pretty expensive even down here and as LP mentioned... the workshop doesn't exactly, er inspire confidence. Good luck though. Cheers Guzzler
  20. G'day. I also had a mate with one and got to ride it back in the 80's. His one is still going strong too I believe. Mate there is a thriving owners club here in Oz but also very active clubs for them overseas so maybe contact them for advice. From what I know they are or can be EXPENSIVE to restore and like anything have their foibles so maybe specialised advice may save you $ ?? Try CBX world and ICOA both seem USA centric? Cheers
  21. Don't think I've seen that colour before..? Looks good. Cheers
  22. Ha ha. Don't hold back now mate! Hilarious.
  23. I just had a wee look but not enough time to watch all of it... Think you might be right about the public school twat ha ha . Anyways I don't think they ( Norton ) got it right with the standard Commando,To me the pipes are wrong and the tail lights embedded in the rear cowling look ah crap. Having said this, I think they got it absolutely spot on with the Dominator version, but this was under the previous management. (or lack thereof). That version is one of the best looking bikes I've seen. Cheers Ps I also prefer v twins though.
  24. The Greenie's booked in for a new set of shoes on Friday! Went with another pair of Angel GT 2's as this set has seen it all (apart from snow and Ice) in the 18K and never once did they misbehave. This also includes 10k of usage before the suspension was sorted and serviced so I'm bloody impressed. Cheers Ps can't wait!
  25. Ha ha I'm just about to replace mine this week hopefully. The current Pirelli Angel GT 2's have 18,500 kays on them and still handle ok..... My last ride to the office was cold and very very wet and still no slips slides etc and my ride home on the fun twisty bits were also wet and still no moments but I reckon they'll go downhill quickly from here! Bloody phenomenal really and will look to put another pair of these on! Cheers Ps I also run a 160/60 on the rear
