  1. Hot off the presses. That Grohl is really amazing. Saw him and the Foos at the David Letterman show with Tony Joe White. Seen the Stones a few times too. The last time here in OKC in a smaller arena.
  2. That's a great record. Mark's one guy I'd like to see. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. All this about pilots and planes reminds me of yesterday. I'd just epoxied that damn broken turn signal on my EV. When I wired it back on, none of the tail lights or signals worked. I was yelling mad. I checked the fuse, good. Put it back in, everything worked! Sprayed everything with contact cleaner (no CAIG $$). Damn fuse block. So I'm still bitching about it with my neighbor. He's a double retired Lt Col, B-52 pilot and FAA guy, always working on his BMW track car. There's a thing about engineers, pilots, doctors, they're always experts on anything. So Steve tells me to use dielectric grease. I told him that it was an insulator. He disagreed and said it was a conductor. That's when I mention some of Guzzi discussions. He replies that everyone on the internet is an "expert". Somehow I bring up Chuck from Indiana, then Brad, my last line of defense. Anyway this morning I'm dropping off the trash, I'm in my gym shorts ready to go and it's cold and just been raining. Steve comes up to me and says that it's true that dielectric grease really is an insulator. Before I was going to be roped into another 20 minute conversation, I told him I was cold and going to the gym. As he left, I "invited" him over for Pabst later in the afternoon. That'll keep him away for a while.
  3. Sorry, my bad. I did a search.
  4. Not sure where the Coltrane reference was listed here. But the Mrs ordered the record, "BlueTrain", I suppose Thursday night. It was delivered just now. I think about $10 for CD and shipping.
  5. I've been playing lots of Pandora recently. On most of my stations I've been getting lots of Tab Benios. Lots of blues. Anyone have a handle on him and what record to get?
  6. Condolences to Royal Family and our British friends. As an American, I've gotten some appreciation of respectful leaders over the last 4 years. Some moral authority to absorb the shocks, if you will.
  7. One of my share music buddies just sent me back a thumbdrive loaded with some Johnny W. I remember I have much of the vinyl buried in my closet. Johnny's geetar would blow that battery into a million pieces.
  8. What kind of person reads and posts a tech manual about batteries? Drink two (or 4) cocktails and put on Miles' "Kind of Blue". Now zone out. good night
  9. Tires. You never know when if one is defective until you ride or drive it. I've gotten defective or disappointing tires from every tire manufacturer at one time or another.
  10. I might've mentioned I picked up a new portable Slime air pump. It takes up more space that the old one. It has a simply lever chuck on it, which works much better given the air stem clearance issues with both Guzzis.
  11. From my experience those EV wheels have a tendency to leak. They seem to get a lot of build up on the lip after tire changes. Even when thoroughly cleaned they can sometime leak after the next mounting.
  12. Solve the mysteries of the motorcycle internet, like why is one cylinder hotter than the other? Why do the tires wear out on the left side first? What deficiencies can we blame on ethanol? Just don't mention countersteering or trail braking, all fightin' words.
  13. BTDT. I was at the Salida CO rally and had just gotten the EV. I mentioned it to Matt Forslund and he hit both cylinders with a temp gun and shrugged his shoulders. Of course, there could be all kind of reasons unrelated to the topic, like a slight difference in ignition timing or one side being leaner...... all the Guzzi black magic stuff.
  14. I really appreciate that.
  15. For one time in my life I'll clarify what Chuck said about a mechanical thing. I think the better term is firing interval (instead of firing order). The bike has a 270/450 degree crank, meaning that one cylinder goes 3/4 of a turn to fire while second one goes 1 1/4 turns to fire. In other words, consider twice around the clock for firing a 4 cycle engine. The first cylinder fires at 9am and the second fires a midnight. So the first cylinder works a little harder than the 2nd one. For sure, I've noticed that my EV runs hotter on one side.
  16. A shame that Rogers and Gilmore can't get back together.
  17. I never owned one but one my dad's friend did (3000 Mk iii). It was 2+2 so there was a little bench seat in the back. The car would wind out pretty good and had a little kick to it to be fast. His had wire wheels and when going into high double digits it would buck and shake. A few years ago I was talking to fellow that restored a big Healey (4 cyl) and said the same thing about the wire wheels.
  18. I acquired a new Slime air pump. I wore out the old one because I could never get a gas station chuck to clear the Sport's rear wheel. I wore out the the threads on the old one and too many missed engagements wore out the pump seals (I guess). 10 years and $20 dollars, RIP. The new one has the quick lever engagement. Took about a minute to get the rear filled from 30 to 40lb. Downside, it's about twice the size to store as the old one and only has a cardboard box rather than a vinyl case.
  19. for $ ONE MILLION DOLLARS !
  20. The best looking bikes ever are the V11 Sport and Lemans and they aren't on the photo board and only one photo of the previous? Now looking for the Tontis, like Calis and standards, I see a Lemans or two. Pretty strange.
  21. I didn't see any V11 series Spine Frame on the poster perhaps a Spot or Daytona.
