  1. here are some universals https://www.dartflyscreens.com/collections/bikes?gclid=Cj0KEQjwzpfHBRC1iIaL78Ol-eIBEiQAdZPVKu9gDbp3MyIkuHRVueHSYQG-t0lyjh1FovRDJXjxWzIaAmD18P8HAQ I believe that painted one in the neat garage is a Givi A770. They made lots of them for Griso and other naked bikes. I don't see them on the website now.
  2. Tat one isn't the Guzzi one. It's one like Docc's, Givi perhaps.
  3. good point Docc. I've been kicked off 4 or 5 forums over the last few years. Something about guys on greenies I suppose. Even worse, I am not ashed- hell, proud.
  4. looks like a Givi (not sure which model) that was stripped and painted. compliments on your garage too.
  5. ride up hiway 1, past Ft Bragg and ride under the redwood tree tunnel where the road ends around Legget. Perhaps you've done all that? I did it once in a Mini Cooper and had a blast. Some pretty neat curves. Would like to again on a my Greenie, would settle for the 'vette. My only regret was no medical card passing through Mendocino. I suppose you can skip Fisherman's Wharf and dungeness crab but it's a treat for flyover guy like me.
  6. I'd say they are pretty hard to find. But again, it's a standard headlight bucket and lots of aftermarkets ones available. Now painting it green...well, I dunno bout that.
  7. if you're really worried, go to the auto parts store and get a matching 5 prong relay as a spare. If you have electrical issues, play musical chairs with the spare relay (some are 4 prong relays but the sockets are all 5, so it will fit).
  8. yep it looks like a Guzzi flyscreen. Mine is CF and that one is painted ABS. I've seen them on the Tontis as well, so it must be a universal fit on the Guzzi headlight bucket. Actually, pretty effective for blocking wind off the body and doesn't buffet. I rode my Greenie to Spine-frame rally from OKC and back. There is an aftermarket flyscreen that is almost identical to the Guzzi one but the bottom of the windshield has a different shape and the windshield isn't interchangeable with the factory flyscreen.
  9. Status on my bike. The shop believes that they have the transmission sealed up. He's less optimistic about fixing the ABS plastic side panels and started cover. The bike with new bracket should be ready this week. And here's the info regarding getting a bracket: Don at Motiv Cycle Works, 8301 N Classen, Oklahoma City, OK 73114 should have the brackets made from water jet very soon. He should have an opportunity to ship them out in the next couple of weeks. The price is $60+ shipping. Right now he expects to have 4 to sell (fyi- two members on the board have written me regarding purchase). So if interested, it makes sense to call him now in case we need to make more. This will not only provide a needed part on the redframe bikes (unavailable from Guzzi so far as we know), it will also help defer my out of pocket costs. Call him at (405) 641-1801 John L (LowRyter) sends

  11. Just to add a little more to the record, besides extremely tight blues jam from guitar to horns to sax to flute, these guys go from country/gospel "Bird on a Wire" to Geo Harrison hare krishna "Within You, Without You" just seamlessly. There's even a fusion Mile Davis' go with the horns & drums (Ali). Having seen them live, they are just great.
  12. I just got the new Tedeschi Trucks record, Live From The Fox (Oakland). IMHO this is just about the best live band in existence. Anyway, if you're an old Derrick & Dominos fan, this Derrick lets it rip "Keep on Growing"
  13. Got your PM BR. I'll get with the shop on Monday or Tuesday and try to get an update and provide details for you and Phil.
  14. Dave, I should have a transmission bracket if you're interested. $60+ ship.
  15. for westerners, submitted for your consideration. Not impose on this topic, I could start a new one. I don't think someone going to North Carolina would be that same guy that would ride to Ouray, Colorado. Both are great places to ride. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=89216.msg1410832#new
  16. Docc... I'll try to keep that request in the memory bank.......but it's pretty far down the list of ever getting it on the road. (Maybe if I sell it for parts the next buyer can read it off the individual part numbers)
  17. Like I said, Don is confident and I am hopeful. I looks really ugly right now. There are a couple of local shops that specialize in aluminum welding, so if he can't fix it and doesn't ruin it, there are other places.....
  18. You might not have seen this is in the thread about my cracked transmission case. Since I haven't been able to find the bell housing cradle, I am getting a few made. Contact me if you want one. Red Frame Bellhousing Bracket. I get 5 for the price of one. Anyone that wants one, the price is $60+ shipping. It will be aluminum and will be waterjetted from the template off my bike. Since it's aluminum it will match the engine and won't need to be painted. So if you want one and to help me defer the cost, let me know. It's no deal breaker for me either way but I hope that this benefits a couple of us here as well as me. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19814&p=218299
  19. well..... went by the shop today. The transmission case looks pretty bad. It's hard to weld because it's so porous. Basically the bottom side has a hairline crack in about 1 inch curve. The outside is pretty ugly. Don said he expects to finish welding it and will clearcoat the case since the casting is so porous it will be less likely to stain (like that's my big worry). Maybe it will be done next week. Don is confident and I am hopeful. Anyway, the bellhousing bracket. I get 5 for the price of one. Anyone that wants one, the price is $60+ shipping. 20. All I can say, I used a red magic marker on the needle when I had the tach apart on the EV. After about 6 years, it's pretty well faded.
  21. I use the timing marks (d & S) on the flywheel. Then I take my feeler gauge, if I can get the gauge in there, the valves are closed and and be adjusted, if I can't get the feeler in there, I know I am 360 out and that one (or both?) of the valves is open. I am not sure this answers your question but I use the marks and feeler for TDC on the compression stroke. I also put a red mark on the spinner of the front of the engine so I can look for the timing mark. This is because I can easily "overrun" the D/S on the compression stroke since there is little resistance in the valve train and no compression with the spark plugs out. I can't remember if I made the mark for the D or S.
  22. while rock and roll is in known for white guys trying to sound black, Chuck invented rock and roll by imitating and mocking white country music. it's hard to imagine what we would be listening to today without Chuck. Perhaps the greatest influence on popular music and music in general than anyone in history. Rollover Beethoven.
  23. the crack is about 2 inches long in the area that is ground down. Beyond that I don't know. The piece was sent out to the powder-coater to get baked. They're running it through some heat cycles. I likely won't see it until it's welded and being fitted into the bike. Then Don (mechanic) will make a template and cut out the bracket.
