  1. I'll give the Okie cocktail a whirl and see how it goes. I'll flush it with Bluestuff if it gives me one drip or bad shifts. If not, I'll just run it. BTW, running the extender thingy too.
  2. yeah, well when I opened the Bell Ray IT WAS PINK STUFF!!!! So I Okie-fied the whole damn mess and mixed about 2/3 Castrol Synth 75-90 I had on the shelf with 1/3 Pink Stuff. When I drained the old stuff, I realized there is very dang little clearance between the drain bolt and the crossover. Now it just might be that I just can't get the drain plug tight enough since I had to use my fingers to squeeze the wrench. Anyway, it what it is. And I've been using that Castrol synth forever in the EV until the last change (I think). Yeah, it what it is. And I just noticed I did have a bottle of Shockproof Blue Stuff. Now I remember, I put it in the EV and then subsequently read how bad it is and drained it right back out. I probably kept it to put in the Greenie. And of course I forgot about it and just now saw it. it is what it is.
  3. Thanks Chuck. I found the book a little confusing. Ever since I put that synth pink stuff in the GB it's just kept a little puddle on the floor after I ride it. The Bel Ray might not help but I put some in the EV after hearing horror stories of the synth ruining all those 5 speeds. BTW the Bel Ray costs as much or more than synthetic. I have no idea if it's a blend or what. They sell it as a premium lubricant at Cycle Gear and motorcycle shops for the Beemer crowd. It seems to work fine in the EV. I am not sure if it will do anythig special in the Sport but I don't think it will harm it (now that I am good to go for 80-90). In so far a "stupid service" I only had one set of pan gaskets (I never use the manhole) and I'll be dang if the weren't for the EV. But the kicker is that I had probably made that mistake before since I didn't have a gasket on the pan in the first place.
  4. I am sorry, I guess I asked wrong. I am just interested to know the proper weight of gear oil. I have a quart of Bel Ray 80-90 now, will that work, or do I need find straight 90 somewhere? I don't want fully syth since it leaks. BTW- there are many weights of synth.
  5. I have a question about the Tranny. I am servicing it now. I have some Bel Ray 80W-90. I think the book calls for W90. Which I think is straight 90 but I can't seem to find it. I have some synth pink stuff in there now and it just dribbles out a little after I ride. 80-90 is called for th rear end, can I use it for the tranny? Sorry to make a new post but I didn't find it on a search.
  6. mine on, took a 300 miles ride Saturday. Shifting is little more positive. Fewer missed.
  7. Marty, right on. Found that turn signals were separately wired and came apart at the connectors. I am not sure why, since only the rear are LEDs and this one was OEM. Anyway, one of the wires came loose at the connectors. And of course both turn signal wires came loose before I got them reconnected and matched the four different colored wires. Not a lot of room to crimp and tape them.
  8. Thanks Marty....I'll check. Also: I don't see the OEM Flasher. Am I right to assume the Badlands box replaces it?
  9. This just happened this morning. When I turn on the right signal: no indicator on dash, right front flashes, and both rears (LED) flash. When I turn on the left signal: dash indicator works, left front does not work, left rear (LED) flashes so far: I switched the left and right front bulbs. cleaned and inspected fuses; cleaned relays; sprayed cleaner in the switch. The rear turn signals are Badlands LED. There is a box under the saddle to compensate for resistance. I have a call into Badlands to determine if or what to replace as there is no part number on the box. Any help and advice appreciated.
  10. Sorry, man.. that's the only color they come in. You need to talk to the complaint dept. She'll be along shortly with Big Tony.. How's your knees these days? My knees are pretty stiff before I jog. afterwards I just roll over and die. Thanks for asking.
  11. got mine...... but it was painted the wrong shade of green. I need to talk to tech support.
  12. Docc, why don't you call Mike Rich (or MegaCycles) and get the skinny from him?
  13. 800 miles to pick up my greenie. all the way to Indiana and the owner met me from Wisc. Man, did I fall off the turnip truck,

  15. I am actually involved in this. It goes back a couple of years when myself and another fellow on Wild Guzzi had TPS failures. Mine on the EV and I can't remember his Guzzi. I got a Harley TPS and the other fellow got that one from Cal Cycleworks. Neither worked. I believe they were both defective. Afterwards, I went to a mechanic that specialized in Ducatis and he got another one from Cal Cycle. It worked for about 3 months and failed. He got me a replacement. Cal Cycles checked the replacement before they sent it. It seems to be working OK for a year now, I still get a hick-up at about 3500 rpm depending on the load (light). I've covered it by enriching the trim tab on the computer. Anyway, my mechanic Don was the guy that got Cal Cycleworks to more or less give them confidence to say they will work on the Guzzi California. I think they are still gun shy about other applications. Personally, I think these TPS are all made in China and are probably not high quality (I don't care if it says Magnetti, Harley or Cal Cycles). That's the why of the story. I think the Cal Cycleworks piece will work on a V11 Sport/Lemans if it isn't defective. This is the same OEM part number that matches Guzzis and Ducati Monsters. The Harley part is actually a different OEM part number.
  16. Thanks for posting. I crossed posted this on Wild Guzzi. Personally I'd like to see a Guzzi LeMans sportsbike based on the RSV4. More displacement, milder tune in Sports Touring package. They could split the racing between Aprilia and Guzzi depending on the series.
  17. I've been using Radio Shack Electrical Contact Cleaner and Lubricant. I've never had a need for the stuff until obtained a Guzzi. Does anyone know if this stuff is any good?
  18. I saw the Dead & Co at Boulder Colorado in early July. This incarnation of the band has John Mayer on lead. He has seamlessly blended with the band. I read they've rehearsed 60 dead songs and given the show I saw they only repeated a couple of songs from the previous three shows. Anyway, you can purchase downloads for the entire tour. I was able to get it and the quality is exceptional as well as the performance. http://www.livedownloads.com/live-music/0,14540/Dead-and-Company-mp3-flac-download-7-2-2016-Folsom-Field-Boulder-CO.html
  19. SOLD ! $11,000 my greenie is even purdyer.
  20. Wow, man, thanks! A week or so ago I spent the afternoon fettling a Rosso Corsa. I used so much of the collective knowledge from here, the outcome was excellent. I would certainly not have a 100,000 mile Sport without this forum and the great contributors. you the man
  21. Kudos to this board to keep these bikes viable and on the road. Docc, Mr Moderator, Chuck, Kiwi Roy, aftermarket guys and everyone that got this Guzzi from 90% to 110%. You guys deserve a lot of credit.
  22. Geeziz. A Coppa is going on ebay at $11k now and not finished. The Greenie is perhaps even prettier.
