  1. First "real" street bike. Recent separation from the Army. '69 H1 500 Dad-built Honda powered Rupp was the true first.
  2. It absolutely is. I feel it every time I ride it. Unusual and unique. No other bike creates the same feel. I don't know what the 'best' bike in the world is, but none I've ridden pull together as many sensory notes quite the same. so "glow" works
  3. brief shot of Mark Volman in there I think. (Mothers/Turtles) Flo & Eddie played at our club early 80's. Really fun, and funny guys. Took the piss out of Journey, while singing 'Happy Together' for stealing a base line.
  4. I owned a Road Glide for awhile. Best distance tour bike I've ridden. Surprisingly good handling for it's size.
  5. The best racin day in Indy in memory. Infield turn 3 - 4
  6. The weight limit listed on the rack is 3kg. I have toured with 4 to 5 times that piled on it. The rack itself is strong enough for more. The Mfg concern is likely the mount points which are the weak spot. They are the tabs pitifully welded to the frame and carry the weight and vibration of the mufflers as well as the passenger pegs. The use of the rack provides some stability to the area imo, though the extra 'levered' weight should be considered when loading. They also maybe were considering controlability/liability with the weight 'warning' I wouldn't pay it much thought.
  7. hate to annoy but 99.99% of the time, it's the hose. It can 'look' fine but at the rear where it attaches and just above the clamp, there could be deterioration only visible with close inspection, ie: move it around a bit.
  8. clocks were created for appointments if you asked the universe what time it was, it would reply "now"
  9. mine did that after first service at dealer. it was overfilled
  10. I just copy/pasted url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW_JjCSZAxQ&t=2s and given a choice at the bottom to display as text only which I did here. when I don't choose text it automatically posts as video.
  11. maybe tidy up loose ends for a potential sale of MG?
  12. what about Goose, Gootsie, etc? they can't trademark everything Lots of HD places began using "V Twin" A local BMW repair shop switched to B&W must be some creative ways around it.
  13. Yes they did seem to take it seriously. Kevin was either bored or genuinely interested. I wonder how many reviews of every new ICE bike will begin with "and it's not electric"
  14. Wow, the 77 in blue was about the prettiest of all years. That's a nice tripple there!
  15. Very much so docc. I love the style of the classic standard. So many iterations to choose from. When I'm tempted with something new, I look back at mine and wonder what's the point in chasing what I already have. Early concept pic, some things have changed. it has mufflers now
  16. the raised screen is the same screen.. but extended (duh) so they can be trimmed (I did) easily with a jigsaw and the edge smoothed out with sand paper. Re-cover the edge with oem or box-store edging. I actually made mine an inch lower than stock because like scud, I like the wind lower. ... and it looks cool
  17. the one disadvantage of having "replies" in classifieds.
  18. I'm kinda with the reviewer. No real preference. I prefer the RE motor concept 270* crank, I'll bet it sounds lovely and I love twins. I'm not in love with the look however, as much as I am the BSA. Don't care for the BSA radiator but it's an advancement I'm wiling to accept. The concept of smallish/retro/standard is the only point I can consider and address, and that puts the BSA in front for me... I like that they embraced their Arms heritage coming back to market. TBH my interest in bikes in that category is firmly in the vintage originals. If I were to cave and opt for reliability and newness I'd go for a used W650 or even a new W800. For now my 1980 XS650 is occupying that space nicely.
  19. just to add... my "intermittent" issues occurred when bike was hot, resolved when cooled off some.
