Twentieth (XX!) South'n Spine Raid 2024

XX plans were scrubbed due to my good friend and riding brother having lost a gallant battle with lymphoma just a few weeks out from the weekend. He loved the time we spent at the spine raids, and thoroughly enjoyed the bourbon and chatter at the evening doings. He was looking forward to bringing his new bike, a KTM 790 Duke. Some of you will know him as the not-a-guzzi-yet guy that brought a different bike every time. Bill Warrick, on the left -

I figured you were with McGregor and Boorman taking the long way home. Brilliant travelogue as usual Bill. -

I'm thinking there was a direct correlation between advert sexual innuendo and how slow/fast a product was selling. but... -
yeah it's steel
-
I have one loose. 21.98mm width (Your photo). 14mm height. 20.50 length or depth. hole is the same all the way thru at 9.95mm

It's a Gheezi-Brian swingarm

It doesn't hurt to have a backup. A wheel sensor type speedo will have a magnet attached somewhere ie brake rotor, and there will be a calculation needed for overall diameter or circumference of the tire to be programmed into the brain. When finished you'll want to compare it to a known working speedo. If you have a smartphone you can mount to the bars somewhere, download a Speedometer app and just use that. Re the factory speedo, they are known to give trouble. Be certain your cable is working 100%. Not in a bind, plenty of lube, and not damaged -outer or inner. The connections at the speedo and at the angle drive. does anyone have a quick link to the St. Vitus Dance on the forum?
-
No. I have used a Vapor multi gauge dash for another bike. The sigma looks like it uses a wheel sensor like the vapor. It probably works ok but looks don't match the elegance of the V11. I'm guessing your speedo gave out. What's it doing?

I have found that tech shop personnel respond well to 'engaged' clientele with clean projects. It presents a sign of respect. They will like you Tom ..

how it looks (without adapter) overlaid on a stock 2003 hanger for comparison let me know if I have forgotten anything. measurements are not 'machinist' accurate, but it'll get you there
-
pencil outline of adapter and how it sits when combined left hole to right top hole is 70mm, or same as mount bracket welded to the frame left hole to right bottom hole is 60mm or the same as the high mount bracket right bottom hole to right top hole is 23mm, which gives the desired angle. adapter is 6mm flat steel. the cool cutaway at the bottom is for looks and not needed.

silver is from an early (94-99) Sport, next to the Ti kit installed, with adapter
-
Here are the Ti kit hangers assembled with adapters. the welded on nut is not necessary, just convenient
