Had the bike on the lift replacing the plugs and doing the valves, decided to investigate why the neutral light was deciding to illuminate when it damn well pleased in neutral. Ultimately, added a M8x12mmx1mm crush washer and with ~20 N-m of torque found the sweet spot statically. Picked 12mm since it seemed to correspond with the boss on the neutral switch doing the crushing.:huh2:

My Tenni has been back with me a week and running smoothly after its sojourn in Bungendore. Can’t praise Michael of Moto Moda enough. With help from Pete Roper they replaced my cracked (oem) aluminium flywheel and clutch with a RAM assembly. Just in time apparently with the 24 year old flywheel cracked to billy-Oh! For the non Aussies this basically means it was f…ed according to Mr Roper! While apart Michael attended to a few leaks, valves, replaced the shift spring as a preventative and then gave the bike a tune. Moto Moda is a pleasant 3 hours South West of Sydney so definitely consider these guys to keep these ageing bikes in fine fettle.

Started my "shakedown/prep" for the XXI South'n SpineRaid, about two months out (metric: 8,6 weeks B)).

Sixty mile/97 km warm-up ride (aka: get beer). Onto the lift and drop motoroil and gearbox oil. No metal fuzz on the engine drain plug (6300 miles/ 10.000 km); the "usual" fuzz on the gearbox plug (15,000 miles/24.000 km).

Out with the oil filter through the access cover, remove the label from the new WIX filter and see that the old filter gasket came out with the old filter. :nerd:

Fresh RedlIne 20W-50 after being certain the filter access cover screwed back on perfectly. :luigi:

Took time to troubleshoot the (lately) dodgy Neutral Switch. Fitted a new crush washer (to space the switch correctly on the shift plate) and adjusted the external shift mechanism connecting rod so the lever clears the Frame Side Plate/"stiletto" on the downstroke.

On to service all major electrical grounds and battery terminals with CRC Electronics Cleaner® and Caig DeOxit®.

Yeah, that's a French medical graduated cylinder. Yeah, I use that to add 850.0 ml to the gearbox. Yeah, I know that's bogus. I even heated the gear oil to 120ºF/ 49ºC for a clean pour.

Next: Decent Tune-up . . .

Nothing today, but...

The day before yesterday on the V11, got the forks and front wheel back in. About time, too...

Yesterday on the V35 Imola rode about 110 km. I really didn't want to, honest, but the battery needed charging...

On the Breva, disconnected the battery. It isn't going to be ridden for about 4 weeks, minimum. If the battery is not disconnected, that is long enough to completely flatten it.

Very nice, and easy to handle too. I might need to upgrade. Right now I have a Walmart plastic graduated liter measuring cup.

I was on a fly and ride home from Maryland when I was taken out by a pickup driving out of a parking lot right in front of me. Thankfully hit him at pretty low speed leaned over to the right and no paint of plastics damaged just some parts. What I'm looking for now is a right side front footpeg. They seem to be total unaobtanium now. Does anyone out there have one they'd be willing to part with? Feel free to PM me if you can help me out.

Thanks.

you sure thats not an african graduated cylinder? it's all a matter of how you grip it...

My beloved Red needs some of that TLC.  Looking and running fine, but has been a dearth of V11 riding this year so far, so for me its "what have you not done to your V11 today", sadly.  I watch your goings-on with some jealousy.  But sounds like I may be back in Mandello, briefly, in September.

I believe this is what you're looking for. Just have to figure out which is left or right, and will send to you, just let me know your address.
