  1. Past hour
  2. The usual suspects up front on Friday in France. Vinales looking pretty good, Both Marquez's having to go to Q1. Same for Binder. And Binder hit the ground a few times. Acosta still impressive. I know practice doesn't pay points, but Acosta is really shaking things up. To me he is a bigger player on the rider market them Marc. If I were a team I would rather sign Acosta. He clearly has a bright future. Marc is on the downslope, still some left in the tank but the tank is more empty then full. Not sure about dropping the classic races in favor of new markets, but when you are chasing the money that is what you do. It will be nice to see MotoGP loose the Spanish favoritism.
  3. Today
  4. I was reading a statement from one of the main deciders of the new owners of MotoGP; the obvious intention is to strip down those European countries with more than one GP, to redistribute them to countries that do not currently have one. The intention is to keep 22 GP in total, but Spain with its 4 GPs and Italy with its 2 would go to host a single event per season. The new target would be South America, and of course, a second GP in the US, because as we know, charity begins at home... it was never by chance that Dorna privileged Spain.
  5. Errmmmm, that statement could easily provide the basis for a discussion that could go on all night and need several cases of beer to lubricate it. Without launching into that discussion now, I don't agree. I think most blues musicians wouldn't, either, just to name one example. On the contrary, most pop music isn't "real", even if the artists in question think they are making art. Most of it is just product.
  6. Concur on "poses," etc. Much else is overstudied, too, but a few beers at the SSR would fix that. For me, however, always charmed by a woman's laugh, Monica's giggle at c.18:40 makes it all forgivable. Bill Do tell. Please. Tho maybe waiting for the Lodge's pavilion at Tellico might be wiser. Bill
  7. I am not getting any younger, and dreams are made to be realized. But I need to remain realistic to what I can accomplish. The money should never get in the way. This is what I was looking for: https://www.relentlessquestmotorcyclerestorations.com/work/1979-honda-cbx
  8. Girl , you better understand one thing . This little enigma machine is anything BUT a wise decision . You will come out of this with an appreciation , an understanding an awareness , and most of all a better person . You will find yourself around a bunch of professional people who want you to be satisfied with your bike and you will be able to shock yourself when you look at your wiring diagram like it is a 1960 road map . Grok . look it up
  9. Haha, I think I had to tell that story once before . . .
  10. You know country music is judged by/for it's authenticity . No other music is required to be "real". I don't listen to it but I appreciate the authenticity of it. any idiot can put together silly lyrics , "she thinks my tractor's sexy" . Hmmmmm. I don't . Hank sang his feelings , his history , his life . He was also a mortal who happened to be a god at the same time. He was called out for 6 encores on his first time at The Grand Ole Opry. SIX , yes six . they had to stop the encores because the rest of the show had to continue. This style of music IS Country music . Some artists still have it , this is what people listen for and to . I hope it never stops.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Perhaps they should swap positions. I remember doing that with girls (in the distant past) and it worked out swimmingly . . .
  13. Ok, so he noticed the qualities of the bike, and gave it a good report. Mostly. The bashing continues: he says at the start that he never was interested in adventure bikes, but for the test he miracuolasly has a retro enduro helmet to wear. Further: as in the last video, brand new spiffy clothing appropriate to the bike in question, and meticulously aged boots. And he is constanly striking poses. I'm pleased that he liked the bike, but I still reckon he is a bit of a twat. And Monica is a shit camera operator.
  14. I did not factor in the flowing supplies. I just meant the cost of having the bike running as it should....
  15. At this point, I've spent as much on tires as I did to buy mySport new . . .
  16. I did not come out unscathed of the Guzzi venture either. If I add up only the cost of getting on the odometer fixed, on the other the tachometer, then I get to USD 1000...
  17. Wiping the coffee off the screen now..... Hilarious.
  18. Mate. That looks pretty good, in fact it's the only Gold Wing I'd even contemplate riding! Kinda always thought the original was best eh! Actually, I was offered a ride on an 1800 6 cylinder jobby some time ago but after hoisting it (about 400 kg's) off the side stand thought the better of it...ha ha . Cheers
  19. "Not today, honey. I have a hiccup [at about 2800 rpm]."
  20. What with no experience with the CBX, I have refrained from comment. Yet, I had a significant foray into a similar era 1000cc 1975 Honda twenty-five years ago. Even then, support and parts were becoming difficult. I rode the GL1000 four years, about 44,000 miles, in some very demanding sport-touring riding with modern motorcycles in the group. She acquitted herself well, but was heavy and had limited ground clearance for aggressive cornering. I did love that flat-four shriek from 6-8,000 rpm! In the end, I suspect the continual stream of costs was a factor in The Wife's endorsement of the V11 Sport. Pretty sure she might have thought, " At least the Moto Guzzi is a brand new bike. It couldn't possible bleed us like the old Honda. "
  21. Looks more like Motoheadache to me Phil
  22. Sounds like a wise move mate... I have heard they can be money pits to sort. Cheers
