  1. No doubt that’s said tongue in cheek with an “I’ll be right Jack” attitude but it’s not a world I’d wish for my kids and potential grandies to live in All these changes can conceivably be useful tools in the hands of a controlling totalitarian regime (there’s been plenty of those over the last hundred years so it is feasible) I’m sick of all this effectively stripping away of freedoms and enjoyment of life and imposition of constant government intrusion in your face Being a white privileged man I’m consciously misappropriating the cry, “I can’t breathe.. I can’t breathe.. I can’t breathe!” But there you have it. The restrictions even apply to voicing an opinion now As for me - I will not comply

  2. That little 666 device in your pocket tells "someone" EVERYTHING you are doing . It monitors your driving habits , speed , location 7/24 . Your preferences in ice cream , political propaganda , pornographic "research" , anything . Some entity is very interested in you and the population of the Earth . 1984 came a long time ago.

  3. You are probably not aware, but in France, they had managed to avoid inspections for motorcycles until last year. There is an organization named "Les Motards en colère" (the angered motorcyclists) who legally fought and contested the rationale to implement these inspections for motorcycles. The prime reason why those exist is for safety. The organization used statistics to demonstrate that motorcycle accidents are not due to poorly maintained motorcycles, unlike cars; only 4% of the totality of motorcycles accidents are due to mechanical issues. The rationale is very simple and does not take a genius to understand. Motorcyclists are totally exposed in case of accidents. So they are the prime concerned to have all the major components of their machine in good working order. And they won. Only the powerful European lobby of specialized companies which only business purpose is to inspect vehicles requested mediation from the "constitutional council", something similar to the "Supreme Court" in the USA. That council determined that because it was a European requirement, it had to be implemented. It started this year, 2024, and it is only a money grab. The Motards en Colère are continuing their action, hoping to reverse it. I am surprised that Travis county would continue with inspections only for motorcycles. Especially in Texas. I have not seen a single bike looking poorly maintained. Cars, I have seen many.

  5. I made some from old reservoir caps and QD air fittings as my Motive bleeder has a QD hose that I also made myself with with air fittings. Motive sell a bleeder with QD fittings but at the time I was saving money as the bleeder was expensive to ship from the US. Now you can buy them cheap on ebay or Aliexpress. I'll see if I can get an image of my home made adaptor. Phil EDIT... Here's the front adaptor I made complete with home made seal.

  7. Just a WAG , I am sure they have enough trouble w/unlicensed drivers . Uninsured drivers would result in tickets for 75% of drivers and the Court system would explode ! I have found , I get better results w/a happy officer than I do being a SovCit smartass w/a degree in Obfuscation. BTW , I meet a lot of police , it must be my driving habits , and I try to be nice !

  8. I like this YouTuber, who is an Englishman living in Australia and who is an engineer & a lawyer. I cannot tell if he’s awake, even to the global climate boiling change nonsense. However, he is spot on about the impossibility of moving everybody to EVs. Important to remember that the phrase "By 2030, you will own nothing and be happy"? Did you think that the global publicity for this, essentially code for the United Nations "Agenda 21" & their "Sustainable Development Goals", is a bluff? I don't.

  9. More than happy to pay for quality in anything... But I object to paying for crap masquerading as quality...regardless of where it was made. Cheers

  10. Whilst this is true: This is not fair: Don't forget, for instance, the luxury product "Apple MacIntosh" is, to a very large degree, produced in China. The Wiki says https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Inc.#Supply_chain The quality you get from China, amongst other producing countries, entirely depends on what the client stipulates and is prepared to pay for. If the client company is cheapskate, you get crap. If the client company is prepared to pay for quality, that is what you get.

  11. Some US insurance companies won't insure your car without a separate tracker fitted. People have bought second hand cars and have battery drain issues and subsequently found a tracker wired into the system they were unaware of the previous owner was obliged to fit. Maybe the DD preppers and tin foil hat brigade aren't looking so silly now, lol.

  14. I have two examples myself; I purchased some French films on amazon videos. My understanding was that once you purchased them, you can stream them as many times as you want. A few years ago, one of those movies had vanished from my account. I contacted Amazon customer service, asking where had the movie gone, and I was explained that Amazon's agreement with the copyright holder of the movie ended, and thus, the movie was taken off the servers. I requested a refund, which at the beginning they said they would not honor, because it is stated in the fine prints that when I purchased the video, unlike a DVD, the movie does not belong to me, and even I had chosen the option to purchase, not rent, I was not entitled to anything. But then I argued they just pulled the movie without informing me. They should have at least sent an email to let me know the movie was removed. Were they hopping I would forget about it? I got a refund, and that was the last time I purchased a movie from Amazon.com. I purchased a DGI Pocket II video camera. To use the camera, I first needed to download an App. on my phone, then I also needed to create an account. Only then, after pairing the Pocket II would I have been able to use it. I returned the camera, and purchased a used one on eBay. As it had been already enabled, I could use it for its intended purpose, shooting videos. I don't have the app. on my phone as there is absolutely no reason why I need it. As a matter of fact, avoid downloading any application on your phone, because those track you. Another example are insurances. They no longer send you the insurance card, they expect you to install the application on your phone. The only time I needed to show my insurance card, for some reason, I needed to enter a password. But the best comes now, if I want the Insurance company to send me an ID card, I have to pay six dollars more to my premium!!!

  15. I drilled half of the pucks in my bike back in Mar 2018. Six drilled pucks, with the remaining cavities empty. The difference was barely noticeable, but I liked the idea of lowered shock loads on splines/gears/dogs. I have not felt the need to revert to standard over the last 6 years. https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/topic/30472-rear-wheel-for-tire-change/#findComment-286089

  16. I've posted this before. This guy is worth listening to on the subject of not only cars but WW2 aircraft as well. His stuff is extremely well researched and he runs a side company in tuning cars as well as a writing a few books on turbocharging. His full time Gig is a commercial heavy jet captain. Where does he get the time.

  17. AFA farm equipment , Deere & Co. lets you know , you might own the tractor , combine or other self propelled equipment BUT they own the technology . Hmmm. FWIW , when the Russians (or whatever they now go by) liberated all the green equipment a neighboring Country and took it somewhere else , after a week or so ALL their self propelled green stuff shut down and would no longer run

  19. By the way, I received a message of Bruno Saturno as well. They do not have the Monza body parts anymore, but they have a new set now. https://www.ghezzi-brian.com/en/modelli/v-twin-supersport-2/ Although it looks very exclusive, the price might need back-up from Mrs. No overhere, so I give it another thought.

  20. She actually never went down on the right side. The valve covers were swapped and I never bothered to put them back on the 'correct' side. She's gone down twice on the left. First time, someone changed lanes into me. I tried to 'eject' from the bike but my left foot got caught by the exhaust and the bike ended up dragging me about 100ft before it came to a stop at a curb. Amazingly, I didn't have any injuries at all. That prompted to paint job and other additions like the staintune pipes since the carbon fiber ones I had got damaged. Second time someone cut into my lane turning left. It was wet that day and I happened to be braking over a painted section. It was minor enough that I didn't bother to fix it with all the other projects and priorities I had at the time. I love that bike; it's taken me through death valley, the sierras and all over California. I'm happy it's going to someone who will give it the love it needs. A Ghezzi Brian kit was something I toyed with myself but never got around to
